I drew this giraffe for my very first GCSE Art project in year 10. I had fun doing it!


I did this sketch of Cooro and a butterfly from the manga "+Anima" a while ago now. I thought that it was quite cute.


Haha! This one's a little strange. It's my very first attempt of creating a sculpture, and it took me forever to make as it is so large.



I was also able to find this sketch of Midna that I did when TP was released (I must have been about 11 years old ). Looking at it now, I am able to see that one arm is longer than the other!!! Oh well. I had fun doing it at the time.

Today, I thought I would try something that I have never done before...digital art. I used Photoshop Elements to create Toon Link. I am actually quite pleased with the way that it turned out! However, I still have a lot to learn about Photoshop.

This is my exam piece that I did in year 10. I was influenced by Rousseau, so it was supposed to look a little naive.

Haha!!!!!!! Thank yoooou!!!!! Glad you like 'em! I attempted to draw Shannon and Tomo too.

Here are Shannon and Tomo. Looking at them now, I think I probably could have done them better...but I am still quite pleased with the result!

In terms of realism and detail, you are incredibly skilled! Did you just develope this out of habit or did you learn from anyone? I'm not gonna lie, I get a twinge of jealousy when I see stunning artwork, and you send the meter skyrocketting!

Wow!!!! Thanks a lot!!!! Yeah, I just developed my style out of habit. My very early drawings (like when I was 6) were based on the manga style - I think that helped me to look for details and how to shade and other stuff.

Again, thank you!!!! I guess jealousy can be a good thing when it comes to art (in the inspirational kinda way). I only wanted to draw because I was jealous of other people, and I wanted to produce art just like them! Haha! In fact, I get very jealous of all the beautiful work that is posted on this site.

Had to stop back in again. These are all fantastic!

Here are two more animal paintings that I managed to finish today (I tried painting them in a different way to how I usually would, so I hope they look ok):

As well as studying art, I am also currently working on AS Photography (although I am not very good at using my camera to its potential ). Today, I went out for some fresh air and some inspiration and discovered that there are several horses near where I live. I managed to get quite close to one and capture this image of its eye:

The weather had been quite decent today (even though it was raining in the morning), so I went out to capture some photographs of flowers. It was quite nice because little beads of water were left on the flowers from the rain. Here they are:

I risk that I might make no sense, but either way: every time you draw eyes, any kind of eyes that are visible on your drawings, there's so much emotion in them. They have the sparkle that the majority of artists' works lack; and this is why your pictures feel lively and vivid to me. Fantastic work, I can't even find words!

I really enjoy your photography too-- which made me remember something else I wanted to say: I really love that you use nature as theme in your pictures so often. You can draw it wonderfully and I think natural themes are one of the bests one can choose.

Oh wow!!! Thank you so much for such a kind comment!!!!!!! I honestly feel so honored! I believe that eyes are one of the most important parts to an image as they can convey emotion and because they are one of the first things that people look at. For those reasons, I always begin my pieces by focusing on the eyes (and I usually spend a long time on them). On several occasions in my art exams, my teacher worried that I wouldn't finish in time because I spent "too long" working on the eyes - I will not stop working into the eyes until I feel that they are "perfect".

I'm really happy that you like my photography too!! This is the first time that I have ever had any comments on it (apart from those at home and school of course). You have really encouraged me to continue working hard at it! Thanks so much!!!
