from pixels to polymer clay - Ryans Polymer Clay Models
I've been working on developing some Polymer clay models from the zelda series, will try and show them as I complete them.. My works in progress can be seen on my DA page : i-luv-tea on deviantART

I've only worked in sculpey, I like this because I can oven cure it. I don't have the means to kiln clay, and air drying is a little slow for me.
As I say I'm really only getting into this so I'm open to hearing about other peoples methods.
What do you think of them so far?
Re: from pixels to polymer clay - Ryans Polymer Clay Models
I've been working with earthenware clay for a bit, I actually have never tried the polymer clay since I have the the access to a ceramic workshop right now, but i always thought the polymer clay is rather a alternative to the mineral clay. it's easier to work with, but without the firing process and proper glazing options, it just feels a bit off to me. Of course that's just my opinion, and I'm sure going try polymer clay in the future when i don't have a ceramic lab nearby.

Yeah its definitely worth a go, polymer clays can be quite versatile. You may have to play around with a mix of different ones. I like super sculpey and sculpey firm.
I'd love to have the facilities to use some real clay as I haven't since school and then I wasted the opportunity! I'm thinking of taking a pottery night class though so who knows!
