like, when i'm not doing classwork or scratching poetry in the margins of old assignments*

this thread is kind of a *build up* or whatever for the hourly-comic buzz on Feb 1st; most of the doodles i'm posting right now are super old though



this is Julius, a character from a story i wrote; i drew this before i did the story though; so, 2010?; but it was colored last year; so

i didn't draw this but i'm going through my photobucket and ♥♥♥♥, it's the dark lord voldemort with justin bieber's hair! i *had* to post it, guys! (note: i did make this though, putting the hair on voldy)



i dunno what this is exactly but HE HAS GREEN HAIR WTF



we were talking about the American Civil War in my AP US History class (boooore) and i was just, like, super inspired by their sideburns, honest

These are pretty charming.

Some of them sort of give me a nostalgic feeling, and yeah I know that doesn't make much sense but whatever.
Kinda reminds me of the style my brother used to draw in a lot, I guess.

I thought your Julius was Bieber,, not sure why.

Your drawing style is, for lack of a better word, absolutely adorable. I love the simplified cartoon feel.

I use GIMP. A lot of the time, I color in things and then throw a texture on top.

sometimes i make mixes


I made this a few months before the end of last year. Then I went through and finished it today, because that's how I make mixes a lot of the time. I kind of put it together, base it around a song or two, and then let it develop.

This one in particular is based on a central thematic, so that none of the songs are necessarily in the same style or anything.

The cover I just kind of threw together from little scribbles I had, and then I dotted the whole thing with +'s and -'s. So.



This started out as me trying to achieve a certain, frantic, ROCK AND ROLL, in your face kind of thing. But then I kind of stepped back and threw in some songs to slow it down at some points, and make it all a little more well-rounded.

I wanted the cover to be really ironic, so the font is comic-sans and the title is silly. I was originally going to use Roman numerals for the track listing, but then I thought "nah". I threw the art on after planning out everything else. It's just kind of random and yeah. The sun-thingy is a lot older than the rest of the doodles though.

Am I a man or a muppet? Basically, if you want to know when I've drawn myself, look for brown hair, green eyes, and a grey shirt.

This is recent. It was one of the scraps from whatever it is that I made my mixtape covers from. He is the sheriff of Poncho Town.

Edit: Also, from now on, when I import these into GIMP I'm gonna make them bigger because lol look at that tiny poncho.

Eddplant chose not to have any artwork for his EP, Picture Unrelated, and encouraged fans to make up their own. This is the one I use. He actually featured it (among many others) on his tumblr, which was kind of cool.

I really like the first image; the color choices are nice (warm and cool), and the overall effect of the light is really neat.

some of the ones there are actually in the thread, but i think most of them aren't. or there might be some changes as i typed them up.

I like the idea of having a book with both writing and drawings/doodles in it; but I can't seem to bring myself to do much other than short notes in my sketchbook. Maybe if I start writing a story (like for a comic), I'll be more inclined to do it.

90% of the pages are just writing (exclusively poetry)
but sometimes i have little doodles to fill the space (because sometimes i'll only have three or four lines on a page)
but only sometimes
