Have you tried slowing them down with the Inverted Song of Time? The battle lasts longer, but they're slower.

Wildlife artwork is my favorite kind. I have several books featuring wildlife and nature artwork (birds, mostly) and I never get tired of looking at them, so this thread is a welcome edition to this forum.

Yes I like the birds the best.

These are awesome! I really like the White-tailed deer!

I like your white-breasted Nuthatch and the white-tailed deer. The earwig made me laugh. We have tons of those things around and they eat the things in our garden! Earwigs are real pests.

Did you buy any watercolors yet? I'm very interested to see when you venture away from the standard no. 2 pencil.

Water-based or alcohol-based?

Water, probably.

That's definitely more economical; but it's harder to blend if you wanted to do that (more streaky, too, I'd argue).

Just wanted to say—I have NOT abandoned this (I know you were all worried). I'm currently looking at art supplies (so many choices!), and once the summer comes around, I'll have time to create works in mediums foreign to me—which should at least prove amusing. I'll probably end up getting a lot of ink on myself.

Came out rather well, I think. I'll probably do something more with it eventually.

Upon first inspection, I usually think your drawings are sketches or doodles. But when I spend the time to look at them, I notice you either put a lot of effort into your mark making or you're extremely lucky. While you don't always fill the page, what you do put on the page makes the picture. The little toes and the whiskers are all in the right places, the right length.

(Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.)

I do like your work very much. More people need to draw wildlife
