My 8-Bit Arrangements

~I didn't bother putting my username in the title, since it's going to change as soon as my 6 months are up~

Presenting....

Professor The Vile's 8-Bit Arrangements
"Darn sure to make you smile!"

The title says just about everything.. Anyways, feel free to comment, critique, share, or whatever.

Also, if you have any requests for songs, share them!

Re: My 8-Bit Arrangements

Neither of these songs are technically 8-bit. What program do you use? For my 8-bit tunes, I use a program called FamiTracker, which allows you to replicate all of the limits the NES originally had.

If you wish to use a different program, such as FL Studio, just remember that you can only have two square waves, one triangle wave, and one noise channel playing at a time. There are many instances in both tunes where more than two square waves were playing at a time, and thus the song is no longer 8-bit.

Re: My 8-Bit Arrangements

Ah, thanks, I'll give that program a try! I use Linux Multimedia Studio, which requires lots of plugins for different instruments. I never understood the sound specifications for the NES, which probably explains the issues with the square waves.

Re: My 8-Bit Arrangements

Famitracker is a tracker that can make 8bit sounds within the software, which is an extremely unique thing. However, it is indeed a tracker, which can be a ♥♥♥♥♥ to work with. I would say continue using your program, being aware that you can only have a certain number of waves within each arrangement.

Now, about the songs ^_^

The first one, I had never heard it but my dad started singing it, and I couldn't stop laughing. The instrumentation there was very well done; I enjoyed it.

The second one I had never heard before either, but it was a mario theme so I was able to pick up on it and its mario-like sound. Very good, the lead instrument there was interesting, but cool.

Keep up the good work!

D: You've never heard Rainbow Connection? Such a great song. <3 The Muppets.

As for your remixes, they're great! I started singing along with Rainbow Connection. ;P

Re: My 8-Bit Arrangements

Thanks for listening, guys! Right now I'm downloading a crapload of 8-bit VST instruments to see what I like best.

As far as staying in true 8-bit format, I'll do my best, but some songs will require a heavier instrumentation than true 8-bit would allow. My next song, however, should fit just fine.

Re: My 8-Bit Arrangements

Presenting... an all new 8-bit remix!

Your Mother Should Know, by the Beatles! (The first few measures got cut off, sorry in advance)

Also brand new- A mashup of And Your Bird Can Sing and Nowhere Man! (not 8-bit)

Yep, I'm slowly stretching outward from 8-bit stuff. Exciting, no? Please keep offering input and suggestions!

Don't forget the expansion chips Famitracker offers.

I've been screwing around with some 8bit covers but my motivation never lasts long enough for a completed project. Famitracker is a great program if you spend some time learning it. I should try finishing something to share.

Anyways, great jobs with the mixes. Your song selection is nice, as you're going with the kind of stuff you don't normally see as a "I made an 8bit" project. Keep it up.

Re: My 8-Bit Arrangements

Hey guys, just wanted to apologize for the lack of videos this month. I've been busy as hell, but now that I'm on spring break, I'm going to be getting back to making some more 8-bit arrangements and possibly some remixes. So, keep checking in, I hope to have something done in a day or two!
