Re: Melps Museum

Thankyou. :3

Surprised? I smile when people are surprised for some reason.

I'm glad it was chilling. Tried to do something real macabre.

Thanks EL!

Re: Melps Museum

Heya, took a look at the last page and such.

Lady Gaga looks like she's coming along well although now I think after you changed her shoulders they look too narrow in comparison to her head D= Either way, I can't wait to see the finished product, especially if its gonna come out looking nearly as good as that gunslinger of yours.

And hey, observational sketches are good! Working on hands is fun, they can be annoying things even though we see them everywhere we go, right in front of us.

Keep up ze good work ! And your entry for the Macabre theme really did capture it, mainly because of her expression I think. Yours had a lot more emotion than the posters.

Hmm well when I get to the shoulders properly I shall take a good look! :3

Oh thanks. Fabulous post!
I'm glad it came across as macabre. More emotion. ^___^
Awesome that is great.

Thanks again! :3

Shiva. Quick, I like it even though it's kinda rough and not the best.

Re: Melps Museum

Hey, even for a rough it looks pretty darn good! I reckon her neck needs to be a bit longer, especially given the size of her head. Her ear is also low since it should line up somewhat with the eyes and again with the neck, you have her jaw line all that way to her ear and then her neck seems to start only halfway through the jaw line when it should continue down from the ear into the shoulder line.

It could be hidden by her hair, in which case you'd need to exaggerate the fall of the hair as it curls over her shoulder. And that brings me to the shoulder which could also be wider, again to make it in proportion to the size of the head.

Those points aside, you've done her face well, I can't point out anything proportion wise there and her hair looks great ^_^ All in all i think you did well for a quick job!

Re: Melps Museum

Thanks.
I see what you mean about the ear. I actually thought it looked odd but couldn't think why. So thanks for pointing that out! :3

But,

I don't understand this part. I might just be tired or not reading it right but I'm not sure what you mean.

Thanks again!

<_< Just realised I didn't put any hair on the left under the pony tail thing. Whoops.

Re: Melps Museum

Her ear seems a bit awkward to me. I would try to make it more to the left (for me). Great picture nonetheless!

Lolz, my bad, its late where I am so I'm a bit fuzzy and my wording is suffering for it XD

I can't think of how else to say it so I hope you don't mind me posting this here to illustrate my point. I can edit it to just a link if you want.

Hope that sort of clarifies what I meant. That way, its the hair giving the illusion of the neck being shorter than what it actually is because its hiding the neck behind its bulk.

And hey, I didn't notice the lack of hair til you pointed it out XD

Re: Melps Museum

if you're not done yet, I think you could add in the highlights on the hair like on the reference image to make her hair have more dimension.

I love Shiva... She was my fav aeon.

Re: Melps Museum

I was going to do the highlights and even had some there. But then I liked it dark so I just left it and I was feeling lazy or I would have done so. If I ever do another shiva, I think I will do the details better then :3

My favourite Aeon too. ^__^

Re: Melps Museum

Another quite messy looking one <___<
He is out of the movie Kill Bill. But I don't think he actually has a name.
(Same guy as my avatar atm)

I'm not sure I did his left arm sticking out okay. It looks okay but something seems a little odd. I'm not sure. : /

Re: Melps Museum

Wow you're getting better everytime you post!

I think it would help if you add more folds on his left arm where you've already started them, but make them go completely around. It gives the illusion that his arm is sticking out towards the audience.

But to be honest, I'm not exactly comfortable at drawing this kind of pose either. I'm sure by looking at a few references of this pose will really help you achieve the desired look.

Hmm. Possibly. I'm not really sure and the gun was rushed.

Thanks! :3

I see what you mean.
But I think I know where I went wrong. The reference picture has it on a different angle than I do. (I'd link to it but I need to go to bed right now but it isn't hard to find on google)

That is a very odd and hard pose though weirdly angled.

Thanks again! :3

Re: Melps Museum

Your photo is so crispy... <3 Are you more of a macro photographer?

I don't really have much to say at this point - only that I love seeing the different textures in both the feather and the background. It's really nice.

Speaking of your photos, I *adore* your snail one that you put up in your DA account! xD It is absolutely gorgeous! <3

Yeah, I prefer Macro but the camera I have isn't that clear with it. Its just an average digital camera.

Thankyou.
And Thanks again for the snail one. :3
