[Dump] Ysionris' Stuph

This is where I will be dumping my random art from time to time, so I hope you won't mind the eyesore, and possibly spare a comment or two for what I put up. Thank you very much. ^_^

Below are examples as to the style in which I sketch; I think they're the best of my works, but that's a matter of personal opinion. All the images below are only thumbnail; clicking on them will lead you to the full-sized pictures. These are more can be found on my devArt gallery, which also has a link in my signature. ^_^;

Concept art for a webcomic idea that never took off.

Kyren D'Vivir and Lear Kelzis' marriage portrait. The groom later dies.


Little Red Riding Hood, Kingdom Hearts-version. I don't think she has to worry about the Big Bad Wolf anymore.


Swordmaster Zelena Svanhildur decked out in modern-wear.


Amnesiac lovers, Azale Septum and Elena Vitalia. Azale eventually gets better.


Gwendoline Varia El Gavotte, the High Executor, sketched and colored.


Rose, fifteen-year-old child soldier, sketched and colored.


Aries Enoch and Zechariah Schneider, string-wielding combatants.


Eryne Flaire in an obligatory fanservice sketch. XD

Pretty cool.. I especially like how part of the figure is one color and then you switch to another one.

Are these from your fanfic or whatever?

Not bad! You certainly have a knack for drawing anime!

Thank you~ The effect is achieved by tinkering with the gradient and layers on Photoshop...which rarely takes more than a minute. XD

Most of these characters are actually roleplaying characters played by different people across different RPs. These include those from Final Fantasy Tactics RPs and Fire Emblem RPs. No Zelda RPs as of yet, unfortunately. ^_^;

Thank you~ Actually, I specialize more in architectural sketches, but I'm trying to practice drawing people now. I still haven't got it right. ^_^;

That...might be an exaggeration of my capabilities. ^_^;

Great stuff, I especially like "Gwendoline Varia El Gavotte"...whoever that is (quite a mouthful of a name). She's so clean and shapely, plus I love her jacket.

I would really like to see your architectural sketches though!

Thank you~ It's actually one of my favorites; despite my lack of actual artistic talent (I routinely trade paper for perfection, meaning you're not seeing the Texas-sized recycling bin full of mess-ups I have hidden under my desk), and despite the fact that artists should never be satisfied with their work, I have to admit that I really like that one. And, trust me, you're not the only one who has proclaimed love for her jacket. I want one of those too~ She's wearing a sleeveless skirt inside, BTW; the similar colors between the skirt and her skin make it hard to see, I know. XD

Too bad the RP she was meant for never took off... T_T

If I can be egged out of my laziness and into doing it, I would like to do another sketch of Archades, the imperial capital of Archadia in Final Fantasy XII. I actually finished half of it, but lost motivation halfway through. Now I can't find the unfinished work, so if I try again, I'll have to start from the beginning... >_>

Now, moving on to new artwork...Oh, look, something's that not Fire Emblem.

Not bad... I like the simplicity of how they look once you color them in.

Putting a shadow or something where they are standing can make them look more grounded - it's not necissary but your characters are so thin and light it would do well.

I like this one the most out of all your art you have up there. :3

Your drawings are all very lovely. I've seen the basic generic manga/anime style drawing, and yours is slightly above them. Don't take that as an insult though! I mean, there's some people that can draw manga, and there's some people who can draw manga, you know what I mean? x3

I think you're on your way to being a top notch manga artist (unless you're not reaching for that). I'd like to see a realistic type of a picture of yours. Maybe you have one in your deviantart gallery.. I should browse it. <_<

Anyways! You're quite good. You seem to have a lovely grasp on coloring as well. =D

I actually use simple color because, until some months ago, I couldn't CG worth beans. I do it occasionally nowadays, achieving an almost-FFT-like effect when I do so, but I do it sparingly. The gradient technique generally takes me no more than two minutes to accomplish. I wouldn't know how to put them against a shadow backdrop either, unfortunately. Yeah, my computer graphics skills are quite lacking... T_T

Thank you~ It was gift art to two separate players at once, so I had to be careful. X3

Well, I defiantly think you're a good manga artist. =D And, there's always someone who is better than anyone at anything. However, I don't think you give yourself enough credit. You're good at this stuff. :3
