Ritsuka-kun's Arts

So. Here, I'm bored. Have some random and recent art of mine.

Me and the boyfriend. Decided to try and draw a nice contrast between the two of us. Because God knows, it's there. He has FOX ears. And what's on his pants is duct tape. It's commonly used in free-running [Parkour. aka, what Faith does in Mirror's Edge] to cut down air resistence, according to him. [he does Parkour] It's also commonly seen on Hunters from Left 4 Dead.

The drawing is going to be coloured. I have the colours figured out now, actually. I just have to get on it.

for the love of all that is good, I implore that you DO NOT full view this. it's huge.

titled: Stop Raping my Wifey!
It was done as a request for the boyfriend. The girl whacking him on the head is my 'Wifey'.

doodled from the back of Genshiken vol. 2. I inked her. yay me?

I'll try and scan more because I have a bunch more in my sketch book I need to. One is for a friend, too...

Comments&critzplz.

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

Your pencilwork is actually quite good; you do a rather nice job at either being meticulous with your shading, or performing well in hashing your doodles. I don't have to poke you here. Your inking seems good too. The only major thing where I have to poke you is that the angel wings on the first picture for the boyfriend needs some work; try finding references, other pictures where angel wings are depicted, and start practicing emulating how wings are drawn there. Considering how many pictures there are out of there of drawn angel wings, I doubt it'll be hard. Also, if you have Photoshop (or any decent image-altering software that isn't Microsoft Paint), cleaning up the picture, such as eliminating any unnecessary spots or smudges on your picture, goes a long way towards presentation. Otherwise, the pictures are quite cute~ ^_^

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

I actually have fixed the wings to where I think they look better. I just haven't scanned it yet. I really need to get on that. I need to fix our hands too...

And yes, I do have something other than paint. xD I hate those little spots with a passion, but at the time I didn't have anytime to get rid of them as well as scan and upload. I actually got rid of little spots from the Third picture, which... you obviously can't tell. xD

I'd like to thank you on the shading though. ;____________; i really try to make it look decent.

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

I'm impressed, to say the least. You have talent no doubt. Especially with shading. I've been practicing my shading and just my shading for almost a year now and it's not quite as good as yours. The third picture really impresses me to, is it digital or inked?

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

Aww, thank you. And it is inked. I don't have anything really to do any sort of digital art.
Well... I do. But nothing that I have the time/patience for.
I wants a tablet. ;~;

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

Tablets are fun but you really have to know how to work the program you use it with, and know it well. What kind of pens do you use? I use Sakura and I haven't been able to get such clean results. Again though, this may be due to lack of actual skill.

Oh! I've been meaning to try Sakura. I have Faber-Castell ones. They're more marker pen things. ._.

Sakura's are good, I'm glad I've gotten them. But I haven't been able to really get the depth I want out of them.

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

I'm usually really scared to ink things because if I mess up, it's past the point of no return. xD So i generally don't. If i do ink things though, I'm super duper careful about it like oh god. I should prolly practice with them more, actually.

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

White out works on ink if you have a good scanner (which is rare these days with Tablets being as popular as they are). I'll admit it can mess the original up, but it's the price to pay. Either that or digital inking, which is another thing completely.

Your style is very cute. I like it a lot. I want to see more. I wish you'd draw and color a piece of yours. I would love to see that. =3

But yeah, defiantly, you're pretty good at this.

I like my originals... and my scanner is crappy and likes to kill things. D:

I'm actually going to colour the first piece, once I get around to it. I'm swamped with school stuff now that I have no time for it. Next week though, I should have PLENTY. D:
I was scribbling with colours today/yesterday though. i did it on the train ride home. xD Which I'm planning on scanning soon.

and thank you. >w< It means a lot.

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

Heh, yea, scanners tend to be homicidal in nature. I would say it works pretty well though, given that third picture. The detail lines in the clothing are excellent and some are so fine that the scanner must be at least half way decent. I know mine can't pick those up.

I would like to see a colored piece as well, given your shading talent I imagine it's just as good.

The scanner really only picked up the thinner lines because they were dark. generally it makes things SUPER DUPER light. and then I need to fix the levels in photoshop and graaaaaaaaaagh.

It's harder for me to shade in colour. A lot harder. D: it generally fails. Hard. But hmmm. Actually. I don't know. xD

Well then, we'll find out when/if you post a color work. I think it'll be great personally.

Your pictures are taking forever to load, but from the one and a half that I can see, they are very cute.

Re: Ritsuka-kun's Arts

I'm sorry and thank you. ;_____;

EDIT:

HOORAY I WAS ABLE TO SCAN THINGS.

I got bored and made some sort of Anthro character or summat. her name is Kai. Because i'm uncreative. No, I wasn't trying to make the wlovies look realistic. I hope that's obvious.

Playing with drawing styles. She's sorta lopsided. Meh. -shrug-

I did this one purely for the lulz.
Me, my friend Spoons and the boyfriend in the background. On Facebook, Spoons commonly says things that imply we should run away together and the like. It's all in good fun. xD Pat, my boyfriend, gets like GRRRRRR though. xD So silly. <3

I FAIL AT COLOURING.
Her body, head and arms are all really off. Also, yes that's blood, or... it's supposed to be but. Colouring skills failllllllll. And why the blue-green aura background thing, you ask? I don't know. I was playing with colour sticks. xD Her hands look like some sort of crazy blobs.
