Posing Question (Mods: Feel free to move)
I wasn't sure where to post this, since I'm rather new to ZU's art section, so I think I'll just throw this in here. Feel free to move this if it doesn't belong.
Anyway, I've always liked drawing, but I've never been that great at it. Right now, I really want to draw a picture of my BA character, but I'm having trouble posing him. My question is, does anyone know a place on the web where I could find some good posing ideas for someone carrying a sword and shield? Any help, tips or links will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Posing Question (Mods: Feel free to move)
Have you checked the, References and Tutorials thread? I just remembered it, but I looked through it and I didn't see anything that could be of great help; but if you want to take a peek, maybe you might find something that I missed.
Anyways. You can always try googling these things. You could search up several things, like, "battle poses" etc, or search up on deviantart, "sword and shield". Don't know if that would help much either, but often times I've found something useful that way. Other than that, I don't know any specific places. You could maybe buy a toy that comes equipped with sword and shield, and put it in different positions until you find something that suits your needs. Sounds silly to me, but it could work as a reference! ;P Anyways. Hope you find something to help you. Best of luck. :3

As far as the actual drawing goes, I've been doing a ton of studies during my downtime at school... my notes are full of doodles of the same guy drawn over and over. I suppose my biggest problem is making the leg placement look natural. Every time I draw, the legs look all stiff and unrealistic. I guess I just have to get the hang of what looks and feels good and what doesn't. Oh, thank you for your help and consideration everyone. I deeply appreciate it.

Re: Posing Question (Mods: Feel free to move)
Well, what I would say is stay aware of balance--once you do that, it is easier to figure out leg placement.
So, try starting with a kind of stick-figure; an oval for the head, little bubbles for hands and feet, and try marking out the places where things such as shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees will go. It's a bit hard to explain for me without seeing exactly what you are doing right and/or wrong. Do you mind posting any of your doodles here, by chance? That way I can critique and hopefully help point out things specific to your drawing.

But yeah, once I see them, I can probably be a bit more of a help.
