Fan Fiction - Dawn of a New Era

I have seen some great fan fictions...a lot of them, not just from here but from many other places, and writing one just seemed like a lot of fun, so I gave it a go.

It is called Dawn of a New Era, and it basically combines humor, seriousness, anda bunch of other things all tossed in. And some people who die, but I wont tell you who.

I will be placing it up chapter by chapter, and right now chapter 1 is done. Chapter 2 will be done very soon! Sorry if this first one is kind of short, but i assure you they will get MUCH longer.

Chapter 1 – Adventurers Find Their Own Home

“Hoist the sails! Were getting the heck off this island right now!”

Tetra stared at Link, a long gaze and then quickly looked away. He seemed to notice, but not entirely. His mind was set on the ocean, and more importantly, the family he would be leaving behind yet again. He was very hesitant to leave this time, as his grandmother had been sick for the past week. But he had never know her to get seriously ill before, and so he was not worried in the least, or taking his time to stress over it.

“Yo, Link!” Tetra shouted from afar, and Link noticed he was trailing behind. He set his sail up, which took longer than usual since his boat was only a mere sailboat now, and quickly caught up with the pirates using the Wind Waker. He waved back to all of his family and friends, who waved back to him as well as hes faded away beyond the light of the horizon.

Tetra was staring at him in anger.

“If you are just going to get all sentimental on me again, then we will turn around. There is no room for babies on this journey, so either toughen up, or leave. I think your nice little stay at home made you soft again. And I am not in the mood to deal with a soft soldier.”

But Link just stood there, his eyes with a strange glazed look, he had not heard a word she said. Tetra shrugged her shoulders.

“I guess I can’t let you leave anyway, we need that Wind Waker of yours to get around. This trip is not going to be an easy one.”

Link looked at her and asked where they were going.

“You mean I never clued you in? Were are we going, your asking me? As I said before, the wind shall guide us.”

OK, I am done with chapter 2! Read away, Zelda Fans! I think this one has a little of the humor part in it Editted the storied so you can see the paragraphs.

Chapter 2 – They Do Now

Heading toward the new world they were waiting to discover, they stopped at an Inn at Windfall Island to rest up and buy some extra food and potions. The people at the stored greeted them cheerily.

“Yes! Thank you! Here is your food. Ninety-three pounds of raw cucco, twenty bottles of Courageaid©: The Drink of a Hero. And…” She stopped, the pile too large for her to continue reading, and just gave them a receipt. She could do nothing but smile as she looked at the large amount of goods they bought, and then the large pile of orange and silver rupees in front of her. “Wow, you would think with those type of appetites they were going on some kind of perilous journey!” She thought to herself. And with that they walked out the door.

In the potions shop: “Ahh, what have you brought me this time?” The chu potions man said as Link reached into his spoils bag. He took out a large, and rather disgusting-looking black blob.
“Where did you get THAT?” Tetra whispered to him. Link told her as he handed it to the potions man. “So that’s what the light arrows are for… who knew you’d get black chu jelly from those things?”

The man examined it, and was struck instantly with an amazing idea.

“Yes! This will be my greatest potion ever! I have you to thank, sir!” He quicly slipped on his goggle, now dry and dusty from not having made a new potion in so long, and dropped the oozing blob into a beaker. An explosion came soon after. “It…is done. My… greatest… work. You may have the first batch free, but the rest will cost you 80 rupees a bottle. A potion this fine will not just be given away, sir!” So they stocked up on the newly formed Black Potion, which tasted horrible but had wondrous effects. It seemed that when you drank it it restored all of your magic, life, and on top of that, added one to your heart life. It also allowed you to kill black ChuChus with your sword.

Their stay at Windfall was only for one night, though. Soon enough, they each boarded their separate ships. Tetra noticed Link was lagging behind again, and went to see what he was doing.

“Playing what? Zelda: A Link to the Past on a what? What IS that thing? Do those even exist??”

Link replied simply, “They do now!”

WHOA WHOA WHOA! You're interested in his story? Yet won't take the time for our story? Hold up now!

I'm just kiddin, but I would like it if you posted once and awhile.

So we've gone from half serious to full fledged humor eh? Good all the same.

EDIT: Sorry, but you don't know what it's like with this guy, he NEVER comes back to The War of the Triforce(link in my sig) and so it's very irritating. I just didn't take the time to check, just picked one.

No we've gone from half serious to half serious. Its the same, i was just in a good mood. See? good mood = humorous. bad mood = sorrow. Creapy gay mood = creapy gay story. The mood of the story changes depending on what mood i'm in. the next chapter will be serious.

Heres chapter 3, everybody, also short. I may as well make one huge story out of a million little chapters!

Chapter 3 – A Medli of Problems

“So where to?” Tetras voice seemed quiet but still loud enough for Link to hear. He told her he had business to deal with up on Dragon roost, so conducted with his Wind Waker and set the wind east.

“Not too far of a journey, I guess we can make one more stop, but just one. I don’t want you to loose track of why were out here.” The boats began to move, and were goind east in a matter of seconds, by nightfall, they reached Dragon Roost.

“All of the Rito are probably asleep, so we’ll have to check back in the morning,” Link told Tetra, and they fell asleep without a moment to spare. Upon awakening, they found that they had overslept, as Tetra checked her clock and rushed outside to wake Link, who was asleep on his boat.

“C’mon, get up! Get dressed! Do I have to keep being such a mother to you? You are so….humph!” She jumped down from her ship into the water and swam to Link, “Immature! Man, why won’t you wake up? They should have put THAT melody in the Wind Waker!”

Links eyelids slowly opened, and he got a peek at what was in front of his face. Startled, he jumped back hastily. They both gathered their things and ran onto the island, where Medli soon greeted them. Medli looked perfectly normal – except for her large eyes, beak, and talon feet. “Link, you’re back so soon! How long has it been…since I was in the Earth Temple? Not too long...I suppose… I should have expected you would come back here. I would have prepared if I knew, but oh well. What is it that you need?”

“He NEEDS some help and-” Link nudged her with his shoulder. He spoke to Medli, and said he needed to talk with the Chieftain.

“Of course. Come with me, Link.” They went inside the Rito’s village to speak with the Chieftain.

“Welcome, Link. I see you are back very soon. We are still very grateful for what you have done to help us with the Great Valoo.” Link spoke to him and told him what they needed. “Yes, very well. I see. I will make sure my guards get right on that. Akoot, Skett, did you not hear young Link here?”

“I did, is that not true, Akoot?”

“I believe that you are indeed not lying Skett! Master Link, we will do as you requested.”

They now had every intention of leaving Dragon Roost, their errands finished, but Medli was following them out to shore. Link turned around and looked at her.

“Link, I’m…coming with you.” He shook his head no. “But…link…” Link began to walk away with Tetra, and they sailed north, with Medli hiding away in the cargo of Tetra's pirate ship.

Chapter 4 is here! And it is a lot more serious than the last 2 chapters. Its actually a nice exciting chapter, i think ill do the rest like this, its a nice style, and i enjoy death in stories *muahahha*.

Chapter 4 – The Sea of Time

Northward bound they were, and without delay they set forth. Passing by the rest of the islands that awaited them, ignoring them as they passed by with such great speed as to go at least 4 miles per hour.

Then they reached their destination. The edge of the world. The path that has been to dangerous to set foot on before. The path that had steered them away from the ultimate goal: a new Hyrule. A place for everyone to call their true home, and not be overtaken by Ganon. This was where they had set off to go to, and they knew that their trip would come to an end. The delay in moving forward was concerning Link, and he urged everyone to just move and get on with it. The time to discover the new Hyrule would be now.

But the road not taken was not as easy as the easy way into this new and unknown land. The fact of the matter was that there was no easy way to cross the barrier. None had ever come back, and that could have been because they drowned. They may have prospered in what they found there, or could have possibly starved to death. But there was no time for delays now, this was too important to Tetra, and Link. So they swiftly and quietly moved across the barrier to the north.

The waves began to become rough, and Links tiny sailboat could not withstand the harsh winds that not even his Wind Waker could control. The tiny boat capsized, and was immediately washed away by the ferocious waves ahead. It was then crushed into two pices, the sail ripped and tattered, and along with his boat, Link’s spirt also went to, shattered like a piece of glass. There seemed to be nothing he could do for his memory of a boat, and Tetra and her crew let down a ladder once they noticed that he was overboard.

“Link, you must be careful out here. The waves, these waves, are not normal. This is no coincidence that they are here. Don’t ever expect a calm sea on the path where we are headed now. Don’t worry, all you need to do is-” But a strong gust of wind threw her off. A large whirlpool was ahead, and the sturdy pirate ship suddenly was not so sturdy anymore. The force of the whirlpool was too great for the ship, and they were sucked in, a vacuum of water left around them.

They found themselves soon magically back at the surface. They were not underwater anymore.

“Link, you must be careful out here. The waves, these waves, are not normal. This is no coincidence that they are here. Don’t ever expect a calm sea on the path where we are headed now. Don’t worry, all you need to do is, hey, this seems a bit familiar, huh? What’s going on? I know we were here before, just a few minutes ago, this is the exact spot Link, the exact spot! What’s going on?” But Link was not on the boat. He was under the cargo hold, and had found a certain stow away lying lifeless on the floor, soaking wet and not breathing.

Love your story and it's great, but I think you are a bit rushing it. Anyways, did Medli die??

The rules say I am allowed to double post for chapter's sake, but when the entire thing is done i merge them.

I dont think I am rushing it....i had 3 of those chapters already written, and i typed the other 2 today. I just like to do it, and dont think of it as rushing.

I wont tell you if Medli dies.....find out in the dramtic yet lemony-snicketish chapter 5 (half done)....heh heh heh

EDIT: Chapter 5 is done...did I get the right definition for CPR? If not tell me what that kind of saving method it is....

CHAPTER 5 IS HERE AT LAST. Whew, it gets really interesting from here on into the story.

Chapter 5 – Déjà vu

Some things can not be explained. One of those things would probably be the phenomenon Déjà vu. In this chapter, you will here this phrase more time than you want to, or need to. It involves a strange girl and boy who must team up to get across a Sea filled with Déjà vu. You will hear the word Déjà vu 1 more time before the end of this chapter, not counting the times I have already said Déjà vu.

Her face was pale and lifeless. She lay near dead on the hard wooden floor, mouth agape and chest still. Link walked over to her slowly, a tear ran down his eye. He had told her not to come, and feared this may happen. Link tried to use CPR, which is a method of saving a drowning persons life by lip-locking, but no results. He then turned to Tetra, who was standing behind him. She seemed to be laughing at his pitiful attempt.

“You’re not going to save her like that. Déjà vu, it seems like yesterday you were doing things without thinking. She snuck onto our boat, and got what she deserves. How did she get in here anyway? Sneaky little bug she is.”

“How could you even say that? This entire journey was your crazy idea! You should have forced her not to sneak onto the boat! You have a knife on that belt of yours, right? Or is it made of wood? You could have at least had one of your swabbies guard it!”

“Whoa, settle down, Link. You are over-reacting.”

“What are you talking about? She’s dead? Can’t you see her on the hard wooden floor, mouth open, and her chest isn’t moving? That a sign of death, if I’m not mistaken!”

“Calm down, I’ll wake her up.” She walked over to Medli’s body, and shoved hard on her chest, water spat out. Soon enough, young Medli was awake again.

“Wha…what happened? How did you find me? I should have known I would be found. Look, Link I am just trying to help and- who’s she?”

“She’s the girl I am on this ship with. She is the captain. Whoa, don’t sit up yet, you need to rest.”

“OK, Link, whatever you say.” She fell back down right away into a deep slumber, but only after slipping Link a quick kiss. Link didn’t seem to notice.

“Link, if you are done with your precious bird-girl, may we get a move on?”

Link sat for a few more seconds, and then decided to get up. With the sleeping Medli in his arms, he walked past Tetra and carried her into the pirates sleeping quarters. The bed she rested on, I am sorry to say, was also cold and lifeless.

Tetra had walked back up on deck, her body and her mind faced toward the torturous sea that lay ahead of them. “Link, are you there?” Link walked up to her, and nodded slowly. “OK, this is what we’ve got. Since we don’t know the place too well, I had Niko go up there and make us a map by using the telescope you have, a piece of paper, and an old cigarette. It should prove to be efficient enough to get us through here, I hope.”

Link shook his head no.

Tetra stared at him, “What are you talking about? We are not going to make it through this sea without a nice map on our hands.”

But at that moment they both had great reason to turn around, for a little man clothed in green as being carried by a winged bodyguard. Akoot and Skett were flying just behind them, with Prince Komali trailing farther behind.

“Akoot, drop Master Links Tingle parcel!”

“I am doing this now, Skett!” And with that he dropped the green man. Screaming, he landed with a loud thud on the deck of Tetra’s pirate ship. He got up hastily and brushed himself off.

“Mr. Fairy! These nice chicken people told me of your little predicament, and I could not refuse to go with and help out my fellow fairy! You needed me to make a chart for you?” Link said no. “Wow, bigger than a chart! A whole map! I will make this map for you, but it will not come cheap! This seems to a very large and dangerous ocean…and who might you be?” He looked at Tetra, “I see long ears…the same eyes as Mr. Fairy over here…why, you must be Mrs. Fairy! What a pleasure to meet yet another fairy like myself, Miss!”

“Link, could you shut your little green friend up? He’s getting on my nerves, and does not seem to realize the seriousness of our situation. Look, Tinglebob or whatever your name is, we don’t have time for your chit-chat. Just make us our map. Link was this the errand you asked those bird guys to do down at Dragon Roost? A waist of time for this nitwit,” Tetra began to back away from Tingle, as if he were going to attack her.

“Miss, do not be afraid of Tingle, I merely want to make you a map of the area…for 20, 681 rupees please?”

Meanwhile, Komali was up in the air with his own problems. “Hey, Akoot, Skett, could one of you help me out? The…other…ouch! Tingles are trying to sit on my…HEY! Wings……”

“Komali, weight lifting is part of what make your wings strong like ours and your fathers! Am I lying, Akoot?”

“You are most certainly not, Skett! Komali, keep on trying to fly with them on you!”

“But they’re crawling on them! I can’t keep my wings…up…”

Back down on the ship, tingle was beginning to realize the situation ahead.

“Mr. Fairy, this is not time to play, is it?” Link gazed at him, then nodded. Tetra, who was behind him, stepped out and agreed,

“If this ocean is a treacherous as you say it is, Mr. Fairy, than I alone will not be able to make you a map of this whole area. Allow me to introduce to you my three other fairy brothers!” At that moment, the three other Tingle-look-alikes dropped off of Komali’s wings, and landed on the boat. “Yes, the finest map-making quartet in the world, we will not let you down, Mr. Fairy!”

Chapter 6 reveals thing that are unsuitable for squeemish viewers...wait no wrong movie. The next chpter is even better, but not as lemony-snicketish.

Whatever you say, but chapter 5 was great. I also like the idea of "Tingle-look-alikes". Can't wat for chapter 6. ^_^

Yeah, I noticed.....I feel like a piece of dumb ***** now from my first reply to that pm...lol. Chapter 6 is on it's way, with some intersting and weird surprises and coincidences.

Tingle has 3 brothers in The Wind Waker, didn't you know that?

HINTS:
1.) Medli was not put in this story for no reason. She has more uses than to kiss Link.

2.) FORSHADOWING WAS USED AT THE BEGGINING.....what could be happening???

Hmm...the chapters seem to be getting longer now that my fingers are hyper.

Wow! Chapter 6 is here, and I had to even listen to dramatic Golden Sun music to make the mood seem right. This by far is my favorite chapter so far.

Chapter 6 – The Brothers Tingle

“Tingles! Pay attention to me! This is not an unfamiliar task…but all the same, pay close attention to your surroundings! I have no acceptance for failure at this time!” He turned to Link, and frowned. “Mr. Fairy, or as I have heard, your name is Link. If I or one of my brothers do not come back, it is up to you to complete the map, and I wouldn’t trust Niko with that cigarette up there either to finish it for you. This is a very complicated area so it seems. But only if I don’t come back. ONLY!” A red glow shined in the distance, catching everyone’s eye. The ship became contained in a field of purple blue mist. Tingle and his three brothers began to walk away, but one seemed puzzled. He spoke.

“How are we going to get to places without getting killed, Tingle?”

“Hmmm…! Yes, Mr. Akoot and Skett, will you take the honors of flying us to our destination while we forge a map?”

“I do not mind, what about you, Akoot. Speak up!”

“Yes, we will gladly guide you. Skett, prepare yourself!”

The oldest Tingle (garbed in green) spoke to Link again. “Link, before I take my leave, grab the item in that chest over there!” Link eyes turned to meet a mysterious but small treasure chest. He walked over and opened it. Inside was a dull, small sword with a fancy handle. “Link, may I present to you the most powerful blade in the world! While its edges may seem to be dull, it has amazing abilities hidden within! Sir, with a blade like this, you needn’t ever touch the enemy with the metal! I hope it is a fine gift, Link. Tingles, are we going?”

“Yes, we would be leaving but there is one problem. We need to fill up an entire map of this area?”

“Yes, yes we do, what’s the problem?”

“There are only 2 of Skett and Akoot, how will they carry all four of us? This job can not be done slowly, or close to the ground either.”

“Yes, Akett, you brought Komali with you, did you not?"

“Yes, I believe we did. Would you like to use him for your journey?”

Komali stepped out of the shadows and disagreed. “Akett, do you know what your saying? These midgets are maniacs! If I let one travel WITH me, he’ll kill us both! It’s a little risky, if you ask me. I wouldn’t do it if I were you.”

“Yes, but if you were me than I think you see how serious this predicament is, Prince Komali. You have no choice but to agree and go along.”

Tingle spoke yet again. “Sir, we still need one more person to fly us. Without a final person, we will not be able to complete the map.” Everyone began to look at one another, and Link stepped forward. He intended to carry one of Tingles lighter brothers across the sea using his deku leaf.

“No, no, Link! I can not allow you to be harmed! You can’t go with us, it’s too dangerous.”

Someone then also stepped out of the shadows from behind the mast. “I will take him.” Medli’s voice rang through the air across the entire ship. “If no one else is able to fly, then do I have a choice? Don’t look at me like that, Link. You to, Tetra. All of you, I am going.”

Link felt obligated to say no to this, “But you haven’t fully recovered! You need to stay and rest. You’ll die out there! Let me go, I can handle it.”

“Like you sailboat did? Link, I may not be fully recovered, but I haven't lost my common sense. You won't survive out there. And i think that its time i did something great for the world. A person who has never risked their life to do some good has not yet lived to their fullest potential. I have to do this; I owe it to everyone, and Komali’s grandmother, too. Hopefully this act will make me even in the margin of how great she was. Don’t try to stop me.” She tried to take out her wings, but was to weak to do so, and fell to the ground. Link ran to her.

“See? I told you--” At that moment, his new sword began to glow. It took itself out of its holster and hovered over Medli. Her body began to glow with it, and she got up. The sword returned to Link. “Medli…what was that? Tingle, was that supposed to happen?”

“Me, I would not know, I have never had use for the blade. Tingle has no enemies, Link! All the same, it seems as if the final person is ready! Medli, take me.”

Each of the Tingles walked up to their Rito, and prepared to leave. They each had enough parchment to make one fourth of the map. Blue Tingle would explore the southwest area. Green would go to the northwest, blue to northeast, and red to the southeast. Before they left, Komali took some time to talk to Link.

“Link…I came here as soon as I knew where you were headed. I know that this is not the right time, but I feel I must say it. Your grandmother…everyone you love on outset…is dead.”
