Hey! I can do art too...

I just bought a scanner and uploaded some of my drawings. In case you have a comment, I want it honest.


Since I'm tired of all humanoid aliens in all sci-fi films.


One of my earlier sketches. Shows what type of drawing style I got (kinda dirty, full of lines and scratches everywhere).


I really liked the dresses in the "Dune" movie, so I made some (as I see it) improvements.


I want you to rate how feminine this lady really looks because I notice that males have difficulties drawing females and opposite.


And so the occassional mechanical stuff. Sadly, I managed to draw too close to the paper edge and so the right side was cut somewhat abruptly.

They are nice! But a bit sketchy. You could fill in the lines to be more clear.
They are rather thin as it is now.

Indeed... I draw sketchy, rarely hard. It looks fine on paper, but the scanner makes it thinnner.

It's pretty good. Like Sigve said, it's a little too sketchy. I'm the same way myself, but if I scan them, I'll usually darken in the edges for that reason...it doesn't show up well if you don't. You might want to do that next time.

If it's a sketch, I suggest maxing out the quality if it's just a JPEG. That, and/or scan at a slightly higher resolution.
The JPEG format is not bad, but it reduces file sizes by deleting information, which is why the pictures look a bit fuzzy. If you want a sharper picture, try the PNG format which doesn't do that stuff.

And if there's no color in the picture, saving it in greyscale helps cut down on file size.

BTW, to be honest, the woman looks kind of halfway between male and female. Get an artistic anatomy book for reference.

Cars seems to be your forte man. That, and robots, god I wish I could draw mechs I totally suck at it. Dude! Blue gender do some blue gender fan art for the mechs!

I know... I just wanted others to tell me the same. I've seen Sadida's (I think it was Sadida) art and all her males look overwhelmingly feminine. Similarly, all my females look masculine. I'm trying to learn...

But unfortunately enough, muscular females don't work like feminine males do. Here comes the term Bishounen

Your doing good enough, just keep at it. Also, use your eyes alot, don't focus on your paper.

I really like that truck, it is definately the best one out of all of them.

Nice job, Storm. I guess I'll finally be able to see how good you are...anyways, they're all pretty good, if sketchy. You might want to ink them, because they would look much nicer that way.
