A zelda book or series of books?

I know I already pm'd both lord-of-Shadow and Anakin about this idea but what do you guys think?
I had this insane idea the other day to make the equivilent to a Zelda book online. What I mean is that we would have a forum set aside for entries by ZU members to eventually all be combined into a long story. Lets say we pick a Link to the Past, we would have ZU members send in entries on the way the would want the Link to the Past story told. Once enough ideas were collected we would have someone sit down, cut paste and edit all the entries to make a complete ZU version of A Link to the Past. Now i had originally thought of combining all the stories together, but what would happen if a new game came out? So we would do this for every game. In the end there would be a long printable version of each story that only a madman would think to print out as it would be pages long. I mean if we got really ambitious about this idea, we could probably add artwork to it, you know like trippy pencil sketches like in The Real Link's avatar. What does everyone else think about this idea?

We should set up a whole newsection in the message board marked Zelda story, and all the threads could be like ideas to incorperate into it!

Yeah we should have like 6 months to work on each game and we could ask anakin if it could be part of the website!

In the specific context of ZU, why not just throw up a topic in the Fan Fic section and see how it flies?

I think the idea is sexcelent...But, it will take alot of time and effort...

Well, I wouldn't go so far as 'sexcellect'...

It's a neat idea, but cobbling together the bits and bobs of separate authors is tricky, unless each person decided to write a whole chapter of the story and was assigned the limits of their bit beforehand, and have someone be the continutity expert to check things out and make sure they make sense.

With my 'Merchant' story, I decided to do a bunch of illustrations, of which I will give all to andi when it's finally done.

I was originally thinking to make one story uniting evry game but i decided that it would be better to make seperate books into a series, so each game a seperate book or at least story

Know what would really be awesome ??? Taking an example...writing the whole story so some1 who hasn't even heard of Zelda could understand, but it all rymes, like a one giant book poem...

We already have the interactive story on the main site, ne? I don't see how it would work out, for sure you'd have writing styles clashing along with characters changing personality from post to post. Joint projects like this generally don't get very far off the ground, and a new forum for it is going a bit too far.

However, if we have some genuinely good writers, I say go for it. Judging from the other follow-on story going though... I have my doubts.
