Trinaria- the New Age of the Human Race
I started a sci-fi and I must say I generally do a crappy job with them. You don't have to read the whole thing. So, here goes:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trinaria. That is where I live; where we all live. It is a lot different from Earth, though I have developed a liking for it. Here in Trinaria, its differences from Earth are larger than life when you first get here, though you get accustomed to it, as anyone would. Here, there is no moon- there is no sun. There’s always a yellow shining light streaming through the exact middle of the territory, and about thirty hours at a time, the light begins to settle as we humans do as well. It was quite the adaption to make, though staying up another six hours is a pro for us teens. Once you are all settled in, you feel a strange presence upon you- on everyone. It gives you a light feeling in your stomach, like constant butterflies, though yet again- you get used to it. It makes you feel the way you do when you go outside in the fall as a child and you just want to go wild. Trinaria is enveloped in a large glass-like dome with a silver kind of wiring going down it. Trinaria is quite small. It is about ¾ the size of Earth, meaning it is a lot more crowded around here. And again- you get used to it. That is what’s good about humans, animals, just organisms in general- they can adapt to just about any extreme. And by going here, that’s what we all had to do. The landscaping here is foresting mixed with a large city. It is an interesting look, though with the limited space, we had to. We brought billions of seed and constructing supplies in the Transport. After a few months, a world began to take shape. Everyone helped, including me. We labored the day through. We didn’t get paid of course. We had to establish a new money system; we had to establish a new everything considering the fact that everyone came here- the Chinese, Americans, Germans, etc. We all came as one kind of community, knowing the fact that we were substantially smaller population-wise. All the people around us aren’t the same. We are very quiet. We knew that with all these new creatures around us, we were not the dominant species we were before. The sight at many of these new . . . things, we knew it wouldn’t be the same anymore. Many people have died. We knew that we invaded their territory, like the colonists with the Native Americans. This is only to give you the basic idea of where I- Daven Shina, 17 year-old German is situated. This is not the most relevant part of what I am going to tell you. What this story revolves around is that shining light. Of course famed scientists came to study this new world, though we all knew they couldn’t do anything with the supernatural- and that’s what that light was. But before I can even explain that, you must learn how we got here, why we got here, where it is, how we got here. All these things must be explained before I can even try to get you to comprehend where I am going with this, and it starts now: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ooc: This entry isn't as long and exciting, but there need to be parts like that in a good story: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ic: To first get the hang of what I am about to get into, you must first know why we had to leave Earth. Why would we have to leave such a beautiful place (before we totally ruined it) that held every vital bit we needed to sustain our life? Well, some say we were attacked, and others say we were straight in the path of a great asteroid. I thought neither. I knew there was more to it than such simplicity. And that is thus the problem of humans- always trying to find the easy way out, the easy solution. But we need to understand that not all answers are simple little numbers and maybe more than we have to deal with. The one thing I do think is that we were hit, but an asteroid could never be as massive enough to destroy Earth. It was more than that. We were like the dinosaurs. We were supposed to be extinct from there, though we don’t know when to let go and say- “Maybe this is the end.”, though sometimes that perseverance can prove to be beneficial for us. I know we were meant to be in Trinaria, otherwise such a thing wouldn’t have happened, though I’ll let you decide that on your own because I am just lazy. . . It was about afternoon time in Germany and I was picking up some lunch at the usual place downtown. I wore my long brown coat, my black gloves, baggy khakis and my thick, black boots. My hair was kept up like that elf in the Lord of the Rings. I walked in slowly, feeling this strange presence upon me, like something huge was going to happen. I ignored it, my lunch being the higher priority. I looked at the selection with a determined look on my face, bringing my choices down to a cheeseburger or pizza. They were both pretty clichéd foods but all I cared about was my nourishment. I hurried up and walked out of the place with a steaming hot pizza in hand. Sooner or later, something bad has to happen in any dramatic story. And here it comes. The sky grew darker and darker, slowly but surely. My pizza was still a higher priority so I pretended it was an eclipse I didn’t know about. I could feel a tension growing; I could feel it all around me. The people were just staring up at the sky like a confused dog. As the sky became darker, the news came on in a TV across from where I was standing. “This is Eye Witness News bringing you a special news bulletin. It seems as though a sudden lunar eclipse has taken place.” came the urgency of some man’s voice. “No crap, you idiot.” I said to myself. He continued. “As we receive more information from authorities, we will then dispense it to you.” The man was then handed a pile of more papers filled with who knows what. “And some more breaking news. Weather specialists are saying that this cannot be a lunar eclipse. They say that this period of shadow will last longer than a normal eclipse would. Weather specialists are not sure as of now, though once the information comes, we will give it to you.” And whatever program that was on before came back on. “Thank you, Captain Obvious.” I said again. I continued to walk, enjoying the cheesiness of my pizza, fiddling with leftover money in my pocket as I made my home. I lived in a large apartment complex. It was modest, though nice, cozy and safe. I got home and found my mom in her room lying on her bed watching the news as usual. There was a worried look one her face; she always believes what the news said, no matter how extreme it was. I gave a holler to her saying hi and went to my room and onto my computer. The sky was still darkened, though still retained some light. I could care less though, because now typing was my latest priority. Days and days passed and the sky was still dark- in fact, it was even darker. Conveniently, the Christians were outside with their picket signs calling out to the people and making empty facts about how the world was going to end now.- that it was our time to leave and how Satan would come out from Hell and devour us. I believed it for a minute, it was probably the most simple and reasonable idea out there looking at some of the others. My mom was Christian of course though did not believe in shoving it down people’s throats like that. She rather kept to herself about it, which I was perfectly okay with. Moreover, before we knew it, there was a large ball of . . . something coming down. It wasn’t like a speeding comet and wasn’t like an asteroid. It more like both. It moved in slowly to Earth. At least from our point of view it was coming slowly, but we all knew it was coming in quickly. It was just so big that we could see it already. Weathermen were frazzled and scientists tried to sound smart with obnoxious hypotheses that we all knew were far from correct. This “ball” for lack of a better term looked like giant shining metal, flame following behind it. It looked as if it was nailed together, though we all knew it couldn’t be because it would have broken apart in the atmosphere. It was at that time what all of us humans thought to be the ways of the universe and world had fallen apart. Like how metal would burn to smithereens by entering our atmosphere. More would happen as we delved deeper into this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Later on, everyone visited the United Nations (how that would help I have no idea) and talked it over. Scientists and some of the most clever weather specialists assisted the leaders. Of course it was aired on TV- what isn’t? By looking over the data that was collected, the leaders came to realize how troublesome this is. This was nothing simple- no, this would be beyond the reach of humanity. We would have to leave Earth. No, that is crazy. But no matter how much we wanted to think this was just some trick, it was true. I would have loved to know this wasn’t real and just a dream. Oh how I wished . . . However, it was not meant to be. Heck, I bet you we would have to go to Mars- go meet the Martians. That would be funny. And it was funny because that was the only reasonable place to go. Before we knew it, thousands and thousands of ship bunkers were filled with rations that we would need for Mars- things I did not know existed. Where I was, I had to help just like everyone else. Things like tree reproducer, space food and some other things that I can’t even begin to pronounce. I could care less. Just as long as I was alive, I was good. After the bunkers were filled, there were the ships for the public. They were very sleek, silver and had black windows. They resembled a hawk’s head. I was separated from my mom when we had to board. I had no idea where she would be. I had all I could fit into four duffle bags and two briefcases with me. Before I entered the luxury space vehicle, I looked back at the city. It was totally deserted, empty. There was not a sign of life. Then I thought of the animals. Where would be? Before I saw the wild ones boarding an empty ship, a whole line of people came into another ship carrying cats, dogs, hamsters- the whole nine yards in cages. They were worried and I didn’t blame them. I even thought I saw a tear roll down the cheek of a dog. They whimpered and whinnied. But they would have to adjust like us. I had no idea how this would be even close to possible to accomplish. I doubted the whole thing from the beginning. There would be no way we could adjust. I made one last look and I tried to hold back the tears. My eyes burned and I didn’t blink; I just let the tears stream down. All I had taken for granted- everything, including the things I did not take for granted were gone. After all the work we had put into this world, it would lace. It is funny how everything works. We put so much work into something and it is easier to make it fall apart. That was the last look I had of Earth and then I boarded the ship gloomily and sat down in a small vinyl chair next to some teenage girl. Her hair was brown with blonde highlights. It was cropped and slightly wrapped around her face at shoulder length. Of course she was wore make-up which was normal. She wore a pair of denim jeans, a long sleeve beige shirt with a tank top on top of it. She looked my way but I ignored. “You worried?” she asked simply. “Why wouldn’t I?” I replied in a quiet tone. She just shrugged. And looked at me for a bit and introduced herself. “The name is Raven Zoreal.” She was calm. “Daven Shina.” I replied, trying not to say too much. “Cool.” she replied. I could tell this was going nowhere so I tried starting up some conversation to keep me busy and to find some company on the way over. “Do you know how long the trip is going to be?” I knew, of course it would be almost a month. “Probably about a month . . .I know this sucks, but sucks even more because I was separated from my mom and dad.” She squinted a little and looked to me for a reply. “Yeah, my mom is some where else, too.”
