Re: artwork

hey, this is pretty good.
It's the only 'realistic image of Zelda I think is really good!
The only thing that I'll criticize is the hands, too small.
But even those aren't all that bad, To be honest, I can't draw hands worth anything , so I avoid it the best I can.
Great job!

Re: artwork

That is a good picture! I like the style you used-its more unique. The dress is great too, and her expression as well. She looks thoughtful.
But some little tips of mine would be to make her hand bigger. Hands always give me trouble, but it can help you with the proportions. And as for finishing it, well, i dont know if you want to color it, but if i did, (which i dont normally color) I would color it to fit the mood. She seems deep in thought to me, so i would use, plain, and rather soft/deep cloudy colors. Like, blues and stuff. But dont listen to me babble. Your the artist who drew it.

But keep it up and great job!!!

Re: artwork

wow! thanks guys lol, i wasnt expecting so much praise, it was actually one of my first attempts at a hand, i know its too small but i didnt want to rub it out, i based it on Z05 and this picture of zelda
so the dress will be blue, and i was going to incoperate some embroidery on her top half

Re: artwork

Gonna have to critize it brutally. Okay, not brutally.

I don't paticularly like this picture.

Lets start at the head: Looks like you know about how to draw faces. But that isn't enough. Drawing faces is... an art, if you know what I mean. You have to capture the person in the face. Zelda in the pic looks... out of it. And her head is HUGE! What happened there? Heads are not that big.

And the rest of her: The neck is much to large. The arms are much too thin, and the forearm is much too small. The hands are waaaay too tiny. Her body just seems... lacking. Boring. Blobby. Perhaps more interesting clothing, or make her a little more defined- a little more defined at the waist and hips.

Word of advice: Work on anatomy more. Your person doesn't look like a person, I'm sorry. Hey, I'm not master at drawing people. But I've worked hard, and I'm getting there. You need work, too. DON'T start coloring. DON'T say you know the hands are too small but you're too lazy to rub them out. Take the time. Laziness will get you no where. Take the time to study hands, look at your own hand, look at pictures. Hands aren't that hard when you have a hand to draw from.

All in all- not terrible, but definatly could use a lot of work. Take the time to study anatomy and get it right, even if it means erasing. If you're ever going to draw a good picture, you have to take it seriously.

Hope I wasn't too rough. Good day!

Re: artwork

man you are brutal!! lol, but thats what i was looking for, the colouring was just me muckng around in psp.
I have a problem with heads matching bodies.. i cannot, no matter how many times i rub it out and start again, get a body to match a head. i think the neck is big because the body was supposed to follow along with it, but that obviously didn't happen.
as for her body, now you said it i can see what you mean, she has no figure, she is 2d, the dress is in its most basic form, in other words its pretty much underwear at the moment, but i do thank you for the critisizm on her body, i thought it was perfect myself untill you mentioned that it looked crappy.
I do have to make an excuse for myself though, i havent drawn anything substantial for more than a year, i have as they say, lost my knack, and i CANT FIND A HUMAN BEING POSING THE WAY I WANT ZELDA ARRRGGGGHHH!!!!!
thanks for the 'pointers' XD i need practice, lol.

P.S. it was supposed to be a profile but i couldnt get the expression right because i cant do profile faces

Don't need one. Got a mirror? Look in it. Put yourself in Zelda's possition, try to rememeber the basics of how your pose looked, then doodle it quickly on some paper.

Sorry if I was ruff- I'm much more harsh on myself.

Re: artwork

Umm....
Wow that sig blows mine out of the water......
I don't have photoshop so that makes things harder-_-
I dunno if this'll help....... at all, but a body(entirely) is about 5-6 heads high.
and shoulders are I think about 2 heads, maybe 3.
Legs.... I'm not so sure I think about 4 heads, and 2 for the torso.....I think
Arms come down to about 1 head before the knee.
I hop this helps, though I doubt it will but try it....

Re: artwork

I thought your picture was great! Way better than almost anything I do. I couldn't see any of the pics after the first though so I don't know what changes you made.
