Rain (For all you Seattle lovers)
Your tears fall and pool on the floor
Where I will soak them up with my heart once more The sadness in your eyes fills me with pain Like the melancholy feeling that comes with rain I put my arms around you and am pushed away Though when I start to leave, you beg me to stay When I loved you You were happy Yet ever since you slapped me, The pain in my cheeck just wont halt, And you say that it is my own fault. Please, let me go out in the rain, Where I wont feel so much shame When I come back to your house, I find a note on a bloody blouse: "I thought I loved you until today, Now it seems our feelings have just washed away. "I thought it would be best if you knew, That the reason really is not you" We remebered you on a rainy day I only wished that I had heard you say: "To live is to love, and you need love to live" If only I'd known how much to give. I sat in the rain, trying to remember her, Buy there were only tears... I decided to actually rhyme in this one, straying from most of my other stuff. I did do those last two lines like my other poems though, so it gives it a realistic feeling. And yes, I spelled un-named wrong in the title of my other recent poem. |
