Legends: The Strength of a Child.
-Prologue-
The destruction of Ganondorf by the legendary Hero of Time brought on a new age of peace. Population was booming, and health conditions were improving instead of declining. Commerce had been re-established, and the king ruled with a passionate heart. The once ripped up land known as Hyrule was beggining to blossom into a new Golden Era. The Forest children of Kokiri have let themselves become known, the Gorons and the Zora have allied and joined with the Hylian elves, and working together have established a seemingly unbreakable bond, sharing ideas and such. As the sun began to rise on the city known only as Hyrule Market City, the hustle and bustle began to fill the streets. However, it wasn't the normal bustle, because something that the people were most looking forward to was to happen today. Eighteen year old Link sat on a small stump near the forest, playing a happy little tune on his Ocarina. His eyes closed and he began tapping his foot, feeling the soft caress of the morning wind blow through the forest. His favored horse, Epona, was grazing happily nearby and neighing every so often. The nearby cherry blossoms spread throughout the field in front of Link began to shed, casting the vast grassland in a field of pink. Link stopped his song and looked up to the sky. "So nice to relax after last year, eh, Epona?" He asked his horse happily, and his answer was a small snort from her snout. "Hyo ho ho...Link, don't you think you should get heading back now?" he heard a voice from behind him. Link sighed and looked up. Atop a tree branch sat the wisest creature Link had ever met, and at the same time the most annoying, known as Kaepora the Owl. "Yes, I suppose your right, heh heh." Link said laughing to himself. After successfuly sealing Ganondorf away in the void, and replacing the sword of evil's bane back in the pedestal of time, thus returning time to normal, Link enjoyed growing up into an adult. He fostered all the people he met on his journey throughout Hyrule into good friends, even some of the Gerudo women of the western desert. Becoming the age of seventeen, he claimed The Master Sword again as his own at the permission of the priests. which rested on his back in a decorated blue scabbard. Right now though, he had something important to attend to back in the large city. "You know, for such an important day, you seem very relaxed, but yet, almost as if you don't want to go through with it." Kaepora said, hooting softly. "Don't get me wrong, of course I do. I just wanted to relax a little in the country." Link said, yawning in the morning light. Link yawned again and beckoned Epona, who trotted happily toward him. Mounting her, he pointed her toward the castle, where he could hear bells ringing in the distance. He grinned in the sunlight and kicked Epona's sides, bringing her slowly into a fast run. "There you are, my boy!" Exclaimed the current king, known as the King of Red Lions. "I was afraid you weren't going to show up!" he said, laughing heartily and slapping a giant hand on his back, knocking Link to the ground. "Erk! Heh, of course I would!" Link said, getting up, shaking slightly. "Oh, I could've sworn you wouldn't have gone through with it!" He heard a familiar voice from behind him. Turning around, he looked into the grinning face of his fiance', Zelda. She was the Princess of Hyrule, heir to the throne, and a very beutiful one at that. She swept down on him and gave him a small smooch on the lips. "Why would I do that?" Link asked, laughing. "Because right after you got rid of that evil man, you ran off, idiot!" She said, grinning again. "Oh, come on! I just wanted to see a different place for a while...Even though a crazy mask did try and kill me!" Link said, flailing his arms. "Calm down, I'm joking. Your so funny, sometimes!" She said, giggling. "Ha ha ha! Just as lovey dovey as always, I see!" Link heard another familiar voice from behind him. Link turned and saw Malon, his childhood friend still in her ranch clothing carrying some carnations. She was giggling insanely. "Who would've thought some forest boy would become king, eh? Honestly, Zelda, I dunno what you see in this fool." she said, giggling. "Hey, wait a darn--!" Link began "I dunno, I guess its because he's cute. Or he's got a good sword. Or maybe I'm just being controlled by something." She said, grinning again. "Wha-wha-WHAT?" Link exclaimed. "Heh, I'm just joking!" She said, still giggling. "Well, come on Link. Let's get you ready! Everyone's waiting!" Malon said, grabbing him by the wrist and dragging him into another room. Zelda, still giggling, left to go change herself. Link stood on the altar in shining golden armor with the insignia of the Hylian Seal, with a priest standing with a book in his hands. Several thousand witnesses came to the wedding, and some were even sobbing. Saria appeared in the doorway, cute as ever especially in a white gown, spreading cherry blossoms on the aisle. Then, Link saw the swish of another gown appear. Zelda appeared in a gorgeous gown, escorted down the aisle with her father the king. Link grinned as she stood next to him, the priest uttering the words of matriomony. "I hearby announce you, man and wife, heir to the throne, Prince Link and Princess Zelda. You may, kiss the bride." He said. Link smiled, removed the veil, and they both exchanged a soft kiss, while hearing the cheering from the witnesses. "This is our first step together, m'lady." Link said smiling, and she nodded happily. 10 years later... "Dad! Mom! Oh man, where is everyone?" Said Alex, wandering through the wide castle with a sword in his hand. After the King's sudden expiration, Link and Zelda had taken to the throne, ruling Hyrule just as he himself did. Ten year old Alex was their son, a rather flamboyent child with the urge for sword fighting. Alex sighed and looked out the castle window, and jumped out, deciding to go and explore the outside again. Of course, it was permitted, but he wasn't to go too far. "Isn't he great" Link said happily. "Heh, our little adventurer." replied Zelda, holding Link's hand. ---------------------------------------------------- Kind of a slow start but I hope this fan fic is more popular than the other crappy one I made. Re: Legends: The Strength of a Child.
Ok sorry if u've read it and I haven't put chapter one up so far, but here goes (Obviously it's not too popular -_-)
-------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1-Cherry Blossom Blood Alex swung his sword he had inherited from his father, the Kokiri sword in a playful manner as the leaves drifted to the ground. Summer was something that Alex enjoyed most, being that he could go out without worry of freezing to death. Stealthily sneaking through the busy town beginning to awaken, he approached the gate. "Eh? You be off again, Master Alex?" one of the guards said happily. "Yeah, isn't it time to open the draw bridge anyway?" Alex asked. "Aye, ye be right then. Off ya go!" He said happily, signalling two other elven guards to let down the bridge. Alex smiled and walked outside. Hyrule field was Alex's favorite place to just run around senselessly. Of course, he had a sword, but he would have to make his way over to Lon Lon ranch in order to get there. He put his sword in the scabbard on his back and broke into a sprint toward the ranch. "Ah, the child stirs again, I see." said one. "Yes, he shall DIE DIE DIE! HEE HEE HEE!" cackled another. "You know what? Maybe I shouldn't keep lending you Kari!" exclaimed Malon's daughter, Mei, as Alex walked up the hill. She had the red hair of her mothers, however she liked to have her hair shorter with a little more style to it. She had the bright blue eyes of her mother, to go along with it. Her mother tended to wear sun dresses for the most part with the small ranch emblem at her neck, but Mei liked to wear elvish archer clothing, usually a green cloak without a hood, and a sleevless shirt with a collar, but only covered her chest and left her stomach showing, and to go with it she had short green shorts and brown boots. "What the heck? I just got here, jeez!" Alex said angrily. "Your impossible! Every time you come back with her, she's exhausted! Don't you think she needs more rest!" Mei shouted. "Mei! Kari's fine!" He heard a voice come from the stable. Twenty-seven year old Malon walked out, her red hair swinging gracefully as she walked out. "But...But!" Mei stuttered. Malon sighed and smiled at Alex. "Kari's fine, dear. How's your father?" She asked nicely, Mei glaring at Alex. "Oh, he's fine! Didn't he come and visit yesterday?" Alex asked. Link had made a habit of visiting the ranch and his favorite horse, Epona. Malon and Link, he had told Alex, had been childhood friends. "No, but then again, what can I expect from the king, huh?" She giggled. Alex sighed. He was tired of hearing his families royalties, all in all he just wanted to be a normal kid. "Yah, or a bloody horse tiring son of a--!" "MEI! Where did you learn that language!?" Malon said. "Umm...Talon." she said quickly. "Errrrrrrr...don't repeat that! He's my father, but sometimes I wonder about him! Hang on, I'll get Kari for you." She said, turning around again and walked out a second later with Alex's horse, Kari. She was small, but exactly what Alex needed for his age. She was a young brown horse with a white spot on her forehead and an ebony, well groomed tail along with a shining brown coat. "Thanks!" Alex exclaimed, patting Kari on her head. Alex threw on the saddle and climbed on. When he pulled her reins to go out of the place, Mei stood in his way. "Come on, I won't wear her out like yesterday!" Alex pleaded. "Yeah, right. Anyway, I feel like coming with you today." She said, pulling a white horse from the stable. She placed a small bow around her body and a leather quiver, along with a travelling cloak. "You going skippin the country or what?" Alex asked. "There's been an increase in Wolfos, so I think this time so you can do something usefull and kill a few of 'em." Mei said, shrugging. "They've been killing some of our cuccos, anyway." "Heh, because cuccos are too dumb to understand to run. Instead they call mass armadas and try and kill him, but instead they get ripped up into little bite size...YEEOW!" ALex exclaimed. A small rock hit his head, and Mei was already trotting down the small hill path. "Errr, stupid girl." He thought to himself, trotting after her and nursing his head. Approaching noon, Alex and Mei broke their horses into a run toward the lake. The cherry blossoms were near full bloom, but none were falling yet. There was a small orchard of them near the lake, along with several oaks, shading the once baked part of the field. However, it was also the number one place for Wolfos to organize, in a sense. "Hey, there's a storm coming over the lake!" Alex said loudly over the stomping of the horses steps, noticing dark clouds rising on the horizon. "That's strange, there isn't a cloud in the sky around this part." Mei shouted back. Alex didn't think about it much. Farore was an unusual god to Alex, and he thought she just liked to play around with the weather occasionally. When they got to a small oak tree near the orchard, they noticed a strange, green blaze coming from it. "What in the heck is that?" Alex asked. "I don't know, let's check it out." Mei replied. The two of them brought their horses into a walking pace, and as they got there, the green fire wasn't burning or charring the trees as and the blossoms were still intact. The clouds quickly began to overtake the one sunny field, hiding it from view. "What's going on?" Mei asked herself. "Look! Over there!" Alex said, pointing to the ground. A wolfos was lying dead, a steady stream of blood coming from its head. Alex was intrigued, but Mei turned slightly pale. As they got closer, Alex inspected it. Instead of slash wounds from one of its own kind, or piercings by blades or arrows, they saw several bite marks, but it didn't look like that it was meant to be eaten. The wolfos eyes were still glowing yellow, but its tongue was hanging out. Both of them dismounted. A rather fast rain began to poor onto the field, drenching both Mei and Alex quickly. "What in the gods name?" Mei said. They both heard a small footstep, and the two of them froze. Alex tried to look out of the corner of his eye, but couldn't see the figure behind them. It was joined by several more footsteps. Alex drew his sword, a small sound of scraping metal issuing from the scabbard, but kept his back turned. "Mei, quick go ahead. Who's there!?" Alex shouted, turning around. Instantly, Alex's face turned from tan to a very pale white. Putrid corpses were truding towards them, dragging their feet along the grass. Flesh was still attached, but in almost every place you could see flaps of skin hanging off with a decayed look. Their jaws showed openly, and their bulging eyes were looking down on him with content. Alex threw his sword behind him in attack , trying to act strong, but in reality, he was scared as hell. What helped him out though, was he felt protective of Mei, because he could hear her shivering behind him. "Think they can die?" Alex asked stupidly. "What the hell! They're d-d-dead al-already!" She stuttered. Alex sighed and reached back, pushing Mei backward and stepping back himself. The zombie like things continued to walk toward them. Finally, one of them broke into a stupid run. It put a putrid hand behind his back and swung it at Alex's face, knocking him rather far, and Alex landed harshly on a nearby oak tree back first. Alex came too and saw them continue for Mei, but some broke off for Alex as well. "A-A-ALEX! H-help!" She shouted. One of the zombies had reached out and grabbed her around the waist. For some reason, it dragged her to the ground. It wrapped its arms around her, one on her head cocked sideways, and another restraining her. It began to open its jaws, and reached for her neck... "I know something that hurts worse than a bite!" Alex shouted, jumping up and charing at it. Alex jumped forward and sliced the zombie's head right in half, resulting in the release of Mei. Alex looked back and saw its head sliced partially in half, but it wasn't moving at all. Slowly though, its skin was bonding back together. "Ew! EW EW EW!" Mei shouted, running back behind Alex and grabbing his shoulder. "I guess this would be a bad time to say we're basically gonna die, huh?" Alex said sarcastically. Re: Legends: The Strength of a Child.
Thanks for the support guys, and here goes Chapter 2. It's kind of slow but I'll pick it up in future chapters.
-------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2-Strange New World "You idiot!" Mei shouted. "Hey, you can't blame me for trying to be funny." Alex said stupidly. The Zombie things were still slowly trudging towards them, Alex and Mei surrounded around the tree. Mei was now tightning her grip on Alex's shoulder, and instinctively Alex shielded her from view. Suddenly, green fire rained from the sky and struck the tree. Alex and Mei were knocked to the ground as a result of the blast. Shaking his head, Alex opened his eyes recovoring from shock, saw that Mei was unconscious. "Dammit, first crazy fire now drooling zombies." Alex cursed. "HaHAHAhahAHhAHAHAH! Such fun-fun!" said one from afar. "Do you know what that green fire is about, though?" Asked the other. "Nope-Nope-Nope! Who care-cares? They die-die-die! Hee hee hee!" he cackled. ALex could feel the heat coming from the fire, and it quickly exploded. Alex could feel every part of his body burning, and a pain he never felt before spread over his thoroughout him. He just wanted to die. Go now, get rid of the pain. The last thing Alex saw was Mei moaning herself. Collapsing, his last thoughts dwelled on his mom and dad, the safety of the castle, and things he would never see again... "Helloooo! I saw you open your eyes! Time to wake up, son!" said a distant voice. "I must be dead. This is the after-life, and there's the emissary of the gods." Alex thought to himself. Slowly opening his eyes, a hazy, dimly lit room appeared in front of him. He couldn't feel any of his body parts, but he was conscious now. "Oh ho! I thought you'd never awaken, my friend!" He heard a soft, gentle voice say. "Waahh...am I dead?" Alex said quietly. "Dead? Nah, just a little older." She said laughing. "Wahh are you talkin 'bou?" Alex asked. "Oh, come on! Time to sit up." She said impatiently. Alex felt his muscles return to his control, and he slowly picked up his head. He closed his eyes and stretched, but something felt different about him. It must've just been because he had nearly died. "Did you save me? Where's Mei!?" He said, snapping his eyes open and looking around. It was a dimly lit wooden room, with a small table in front of him and a crackling hearth to his right. On a bed to his left, slept a familiar looking girl. She looked like Mei, but she looked a few years older so it couldn't be her. "She's right over there, but she's still asleep. It's incredible how you two could sleep for so long!" She said giggling. A teenage looking girl sat at Alex's side, with smooth long blonde hair and an apron with typical robes. She had a cute face and sharp blue eyes, and she had the elven ears. "Who are you?" Alex asked. "And where am I? "My name's Shara, and your in the village of Lavender." she said nicely. "Lavender? Are we still in Hyrule?" Alex asked. He noticed, his voice was deeper than before. "Hyrule? I've never heard of that place before. You must've gotten burned pretty badly." She said. "Er...What country are we in?" he asked. "Alyria! Do you know who you are?" She asked with a sharp tone. "Alyria...hmm." he thought deeply. Alyria was knowwhere near Hyrule, in fact, Alex had never heard of it, and Hyrule knew almost every country in the world. "Yes, Alyria, now what's wrong? Are you still hurt? You have been asleep for so long now!" She said happily. "Urm...how long now?" Alex asked. "Four years!" She said smiling. Alex froze. Four years...Four years?! "WHAT?!" Alex shouted. "I've been taking care of you since I was fourteen. I found you out in the forest, and I had been living on your own so I took you and your friend back here and kept you alive. Of course, it wasn't easy." She said smiling still. Alex sighed and looked at his hands. They were certainly bigger, and found out he was only wearing a white robe like Shara. "Has Mei waken up yet? Four years?!" Alex shouted again. "Hee! Yes, four years, but no, she hasn't." She sighed. Alex sighed again and thought things over. The last thing he remembered so clearly was the burning fire and the zombie like things. He felt for his necklace with a small golden etch in the jewel, and when he found it he sighed with relief. His father told him to guard that jewel with his life, but take it everywhere. He hopped out of his bed, feeling a lot better, and went over to Mei's bed, where she was still breathing and garbed in the same white robe as Alex. He guessed that his clothing was already decayed, so he didn't think of it much. Mei's bow and poisoned arrows were on her bedside table, but Alex noticed his sword was missing. "Did you find me with a sword?" Alex asked. "A sword? No, sorry." she said, blinking. He sighed yet again, and plopped back down. He quickly jumped back up again though when he heard Mei stir. "Well, isn't that a coincidence!" Shara said happily. "Mei! You ok!?" Alex yelled, running over to her bedside. "Nnnh...Wha...What 'appned." She said groggily. "Good, your fine! This is going to sound strange, but--" "I KNOW! YOU RAPED ME IN MY SLEEP! I OUTTA STRAGLE YA!" She shouted, suddenly getting fully aware and opening her eyes. "GLURK! Neeeeed! AIR!" Alex gasped. "Ehee hee! You two get along nicely!" Shara said. Mei released her grip on Alex and blinked, looking over at Shara. "Kind of a long story." Alex said, nursing his neck. |

Re: Legends: The Strength of a Child.
Thanks a lot Fianaa, you seem to be the only one (or the only one who replies anyway.)
---------------------------------------------- Chapter 3-Alyria "We've been WHAT?!" Mei shouted, sitting bolt upright in bed. "Yup, what I said. Four years, you've been asleep. Sounds pretty weird, huh?" Alex said. "FOUR YEARS?" Mei shouted, looking at herself. Alex sighed and paced around the room with his hands behind his back. "Whoa! My boobs have grown!" She exclaimed. "Too much information, I think." Alex said turning red, but luckily his back was turned. "How'd you keep us alive?" Alex asked. "Oh, it wasn't easy, but I had to feed you and take care of other minor things." She smiled. For an older girl, she was rather happy go lucky. Alex sighed. He knew what she had to do to keep them alive, but he didn't say anyting else. "That must've been pretty weird." Mei said, yawning. "Oh, now that you've awakened it's ok!" She said, clapping her hands together. Alex moved over to the mirror. His hair was still neat, but apparently Shara had given it a little style, making the front of his blonde hair split to the side and spiked it in the front but drew it down over his eyebrows, and to the other side it was flat. Alex grinned, he thought it looked pretty good on him. Mei's hair was still short and had the same style, but Alex noticed how beutiful she was. "Wait! What am I thinking?!" Alex thought to himself, wiping the thought from his head. "What's wrong, Alex?" Shara asked nicely. "Bleegh. Nothing, sorry. Just got dizzy for a sec." He said quickly. Alex and Mei looked out the window. It was a rainy day, as water was dripping slowly from the roof. Alex gasped along with Mei. The structures had the design of a nearby nation from Hyrule, with symbols painted on the decorated roofs. The roads were dusty, but several people were walking by with wheelbarrows and such wearing white clothing, and different colored robes were opened around the white clothing, along with different colored wide pants. (Out of the story, but in otherwords an ancient Japan type setting on Earth.) "These look familiar." Alex said. "What does?" Mei said. "You know that nation near us, Ikinundi? Well, it looks like that country but it's a lot bigger." Alex said. "Well, shouldn't we try to find a way home?" Mei asked quietly. "Oh, I think you should, too!" said a voice from behind them. "Gyahhh!" Both Alex and Mei shouted with surprise as Shara appeared behind them. "Oh, I'm sorry. I have a habit for that! Anyway, I think you should, too!" She said happily. "But...four years of taking care of us?" Alex asked. "Oh, don't worry! And while you search for the answers, you can always come back here!" She said happily. "Now, go outside, and look for the elder in the middle of town!" "But...but!" Alex stuttered. "No, no, time to go!" She said, shuffling them back into the midst of the room. Alex and Mei sat on the same bed as Shara began searching through her closet. "Ahh! Here they are!" She said happily. She held out two sets of clothing. The one Alex guessed that was his was a white Hakama with green pants, like the people outside were wearing. Mei's, however, was also a white Hakama but with blue pants. "Wow! These look awesome!" Alex said. He was ready for a change in clothing than his tunic. He took it from her hands as she put them out. "Yeah, but what do the different colors mean?" Mei asked, taking her own. "Nothing really, just your red hair goes nicely with the blue, and Alex's hair goes nicely with his blue eyes and blonde hair." She said, getting smiley again, and Mei and Alex fell to the floor, sweat drops on their heads. "Eh heh, thanks!" Mei said, going into the other rooms. Link changed into his own clothing, and he and Mei walked out the door with Shara waving from the doorway. The dirt roads had small puddles in certain places, but several people were still walking by, some with straw hats on, some were children playing, and some were running past them. "Weird, they look like Hylians but they act like Ikinundians." Alex said quietly. "Weird, we're fourteen years older and we don't feel different." Mei said, glaring at Alex. "Weird, I think a girl to my right is a stupid, ranch grown mor--YEOW!" He grunted as Mei slammed him in the head. "Heh. Well, anyway, I think I should get a sword." Alex sighed. "Or a new brain." Mei said, still glaring at him. Alex stopped and saw a small, red carpeted room with swords hanging on the walls. They looked entirely different than the blades used in Hyrule, but it made him even more interested. "Ohh! You mean these katana's, eh? How many Rupees do you have?" Asked the man behind the counter, his facial features not noticible. "Katana? Rupees? You take those?" Alex asked lighting up. "Yes, yes, what other currency is there?" He said impatiently. "Oh, nothing. I have two hundred with me." Alex said. "Ah! The perfect amount for this one! It is rather strange though, it won't let itself be held, blowing up whoever grabs its hilt. Want to give it a try, lad?" He asked, pulling down a katana with a shining, green threaded hilt. "Uhh...If it blows up whoever grabs it shouldn't you--" "Nonsense! Blow up, all I mean is blow them backwards into the street!" He said, shoving the hilt into his chest. "Whatever..." Alex said, reaching out a trembling hand. He finally grasped the hilt, but he didn't feel anything. Instead, it felt like it fit in his hand perfectly. The owner gasped and took steps backward, releasing the sword. It felt incredibly light considering what it looked like. "Wow! The first person it hasn't rejected! Now, would you like that?" He asked, opening a small box full of rupees. "Urm, yea!" Alex said, spinning the sword around in his hand. Walking out of the shop with a black scabbard that came with it, he strapped it around his back. Of course, he regretted losing the Kokiri sword, but this was longer and looked a lot more lethal. "Oh, goody, Alex got his sword. Now let's GO!" Mei said impatiently. Alex and Mei shifted and weaved through the heavily populated streets. Finally, however, they found a sign which, somehow, said 'Elder Withenhim.' Approaching the front door marked with an irregular rune, Alex and Mei reached to open the huge oak door. A blast came from amidst the building. Mei gasped, but Alex quickly drew his sword. A second blast came from the inside. "Someone! Secure the Elder, he cannot be harmed! You, draw your bow and wait at that corner!" He heard a man shout. Alex kicked the large door open, and saw several bodies in the large stone pathed courtyard. "A kid? With a sword! You can help!" Said a man from around the door. "What's going on?" Alex demanded. "I'm not sure, some lizard men are attacking us! They snuck in from the underground!" he said quickly. The man was large and wearing only a Hakama as well. Instead of a sword, he carried a huge Zanabatou. A Lizolfo, known by Alex and Mei, came from the small doorway and was charging at the man. Mei drew an arrow from her quiver and shot it, placing itself cleanly between its eyes and killing it. "Nice shot!" He said, and Alex was also gawking. "I told you I'm not that bad!" Mei said. Alex nodded, but then returned focus to the middle of the courtyard. A pair of Lizolfos appeared in the doorway, carrying... "BOMBS! GET DOWN!" Alex shouted. The Lizolfos chucked the bombs at Alex and Mei, separate from the large man. Alex quickly jumped on top of Mei and covered her head. A blaze of fire flew over Alex's head, but as soon as it subsided he got right up, to see a shocked Mei. "Th-Thanks!" She said, getting up and brushing off. Alex looked out of the corner of his eye and narrowed them as a Lizolfo charged at him with an axe.] Alex put up his katana and waited for the right moment. Finally, the Lizolfo came within strike range and swung sideways. Mei ducked, but Alex jumped up and landed on the swinging axe. Using it as a springboard, Alex jumped off it and knocked the lizard off balance. Flipping forward to gain momentum, Alex swung vertically and bashed the Lizolfo on his head using the backside of the blade. Crying, it fell over unconscious on the floor. Alex landed and raised his blade, and placed the blade right through the beasts through its chest and drew it back out. Mei gasped. "I've never seen so much focus from him...It's almost as if he's a copy of his dad in away." She thought to herself. Alex looked over and saw the second lizard dead as well, the mans Zanabatou fresh with blood. Another figure appeared in the smoke and ran toward the man. "General, the beasts have retreated through the ground. The elder is safe, and casualties are low...Who are these young people?" He asked. "Hm, probably the two best young warriors today." He said smiling. Alex and Mei looked at eachother, panting slightly. Alex replaced his sword. Whatever was going on, he didn't like it...at all. |

Re: Legends: The Strength of a Child.
Okay, last chapter for tonight. Thanks for your support, and it'd be nice if some people just reading it replied. (Hint, Hint). There'll be an interlude then the next chapter.
-------------------------------------------------- Interlude-Signs "Four years...four long years. And still, no sign of him." Zelda thought to herself, weeping on her bed still. "Don't worry. I sense he's still alive, my part of the triforce is still active. We'll find him." Link reassured his wife. "But...but...if Malon's daughter is missing also, what would it mean? Did they elope or something?" Zelda said. "Our son? Elope at ten? I doubt it...still, they were friends, as much as they denied it." Malon said, sitting at a nearby chair with her hands clasped together in her lap, tears streaming down her eyes. The three had given up all hope of ever seeing them again, alive anyway. Four years, and all of Hyrule had been searched. Also, they asked nearby nations, such as the desert Gerudo's and other neighboring nations for any sign, but so far, no response of a sighting. "Hmm...I'm sure they can fend for themselves, Alex can fight and Mei is an excellent shot!" Link said, trying to cheer them up. "But...But..." Zelda stuttered. "MILORD!" He heard a guard call from the otherside of the door. Link walked over to the chamber door and opened it. Lithos, one of the members of the Elite Guard, was bowing in front of him. "Milord, we have something!" He said. He unwrapped a small white cloth covering a large object. WHen he was finished, he revelead the Kokiri sword. "Oh no..."Link cursed, grabbing the Master sword and riding cloak. "Show me where you found this!" He demanded, and he and the guard took to their horses. |

Re: Legends: The Strength of a Child.
Chapter 4-
"Ah...so young ones, you seek my guidance?" The elder asked. Alex and Mei had proceeded to the inner chambers, guided by the large man, named Sinske. The chamber was brightly lit, with a wooden tatani flooring with sword decorating the large room, with a dragon chandelier above them. "Yes. We'd like to find a way home, if it's even possible." Alex said. "Of course it's possible!" Mei shouted. "Err...Tell me, sir, is Hyrule familiar to you?" Alex asked. "Hyrule? No, my boy, and I know every nation on the face of the world!" The elder replied. Alex sighed. It hit him just now that maybe he was somewhere else, but he didn't want to believe it. Maybe Hyrule was so small that he never heard of it? "But...if you want to return...Visit the Valley of Reistai. There, you will find your answer." the elder said, quietly but clearly. "That is all I have to say." He added, turning around and walking toward his quarters. "But--" "That is ALL!" he said sharply. Alex growled a little bit, but nodded and turned and walked out of the room, two guards opening it for him. Mei quickly followed. "What the heck was that about!" Alex shouted, punching a nearby tree. Alex and Mei took a small break underneath a large Oak, but Alex was sulking. "Oh, calm down! He at least gave us an idea of what to do!" Mei said sharply. "NOW! Quit your whining, and let's go!" Mei said. Alex looked at her for a second, his eyes quivering, but he looked back down and sighed. "Your...your right." ALex said, standing up. "Good. Now, let's go." Mei said, getting up as well. When they got to the town gate, it hit Alex. "Ahh...where's the Valley of Reistai?" Alex said, a sweat drop appearing on his head. "DOH!" Mei shouted, falling down. "Thank you, thank you!" Alex said, bowing at the entrance to the elders home. The elder himself gave them directions. "Well...it's already sunset, want to go tommorow?" Mei said, yawning. "That's not a bad idea." Alex replied smiling. They once again walked out the gate. The sun was setting on a beutiful looking field, with long grass and several trees spread throughout the landscape. The full moon was beggining to show itself, and the rain clouds were drifting away. There was signs of life everywhere, birds were flying from tree to tree, and squirrels were chitterin and running here and there. They even saw a Stalchild crawl out of its grave and walk around aimlessly. Now, for whatever reason, they were more friendly with people ever since Ganon had disappeared. "Ohh, how about that tree!" She said pointing at a tree with very wide branches. "In a tree?" Alex asked, smiling evilly. "Oh, shut up! It's the best we can do for a while." She said. They both climbed the tree to a near high point. The view was amazing, the tree being nearly four stories high. The sun was disappearing over the horizon, and the stars began to show slightly. A small chill ran through the tree, being near autumn. The branches were so wide that you could walk without fear of ever falling off, unless of course you ran off. Alex took advantage of that, and dashed for the middle of the tree. He settled down, and put his arms behind his head and layed down, looking through the leaves of the trees to the bright stars. Even if he wasn't at home, it still had the quiet, calming feel to it, a soft wind blowing through the area, rustling Alex's hair a little. "You better not take advantage of me!" Mei said, lying down next to him. "Please, taking advantage of you is a death wish." Alex said smiling. Alex pulled out his Fairy Ocarina, another possesion of his fathers. He rubbed the very edge of the flute as it glistened with magic. Putting the mouthpiece to his lips, he blew a soft tune that was stuck in his head, which his mother passed down to him, the Royal Families Lullaby. The wind seemed to hum along with him as he played, and Mei slowly began to fall to sleep. "Alex...do you think we'll get home somehow?" SHe asked quietly, putting her head on his shoulder. Alex turned red but ignored it. She was probably just cold, but he removed the Ocarina from his mouth. "I don't know, but what's the use in not trying?" Alex asked. "Heh...I guess...you have a point." She said, finally drifting off to sleep. Alex's eyes began to droop as well, and finally, he fell asleep with the moon shining ever so softly on them. The owls began to hoot, and the sound of bats began to fill the noise of the area. Alex awakened, and at first could only see darkness. His night vision kicking in, he noticed that the moon was also gone behind some clouds. Mei was still on his shoulder and snoozing happily. Alex picked up her head gently and set it back down on the tree branch and got up and stretched. He pulled out a small canteen of water and drank, wiping excess water off his chin. *SHING!* Alex heard the sound of the unsheathing of a sword. Instead, at the end of a branch, a pair of yellow eyes were looking at him. He slowly put down his canteen and squinted through the darkness. "Gra, ha ha ha!" He heard it growl. ALex drew his sword and held it in front of him. Slowly, the figure drew closer and closer to him. Finally, he came within range to see clearly. It was a large skeleton, known to Alex as a Stalfo. His clothing, over his pelvis bone and his rib cage, was worn and blowing with the wind. He had an insane grin on his face, and was rubbing his blade with glee, jagged as it was. "Ryaa!" The stalfo lunged at Alex. Alex's eyes widened, and he quickly dodged right, avoiding the crushing attack of the monster. Alex slashed at his spine, but didn't do much damage. It once again swung horizontally, this time connecting with Alex shoulder. "Errg..." Alex grunted, grabbing his shoulder with his sword hand. "Gya, ha, ha!" He cackled with glee. "You'll pay!" Alex shouted, throwing his sword behind him. A slight charge built up in his sword, and unable to supress it anylonger, Alex let go of his fury and launched a moving spin attack. Slowly, the Stalfo's bones were being chipped away. Alex trudged back to where Mei still lay resting peacefully. He pulled a white cloth from her sack and dressed his wound, but still collapsed on the branch, feeling incredibly tired. |
