Ocarina sprite comic
I made a new sprite comic. Actually, the jokes are from a chibi hand-drawn comic of mine I may some day show you guys, but I turned them into sprite comics because I was bored. There's no real story or order. It's just Ocarina of Time jokes. Well, there's an order, but I'm not making them in order.
The Saria sprites I made, and I'm quite proud of. Here's two comics. I hope you like them! |

Haha! I really like those. Especially the one with Zelda. That was hilarious. I too would love to see some more. Maybe with Malon or Marin?

Re: Ocarina sprite comic
The Zelda one was a little blurry, but both were very funny. Keep 'em coming, these are very unique!

Re: Ocarina sprite comic
Wow... O_o Thanks everyone! ^^ Yeah, I know they're blurry, but that's the only way I can make the files small enough to post. It's my darn computer's fault. Anyway, here's two more. The first is a bit of harmless irony, and the second is... well... yeah... I hope these are good, but if they aren't, I'm making more hopefully funnier ones.

Are you sure PNG wont work..
PnG wont make them very big.. Thats what I use.. And, If you use photoshop or the like, you can save it in gif..

Re: Ocarina sprite comic
Those arent bad for your (I suspect it is) first sprite series, though as someone whos done them for a year, here are some tips:
Cons: Dont color the word bubbles, the colored bubbles get annoying, try settling on different fonts or different text colors. But if you go with different fonts make sure its easy to read. Different text colors, make sure theyre dark so you dont have to strain to read them. Homemade BGs are "okay", but try looking for some Megaman (thats the easiest to find) backgrounds that are themed for your series. You know, a Forestman stage or something. That makes it look TONS more proffesional. Pros I really like how you have different sizes for your panels, its neat! You handle the top down view well, few people can pull that off. For homemade BGs you have the colors "flow" together nicely. And some final comments: The parodies are good, but not laugh out loud good. From your style of humor I think a completely new Zelda saga would work best for you. Meaning, just create your own "Legend", each LoZ game takes place in a whole new timeline, why dont you try doing that too? And I agree with Sigve, save them as PNGs, JPGs are a terrible format to save Sprite Comics in =X |

Re: Ocarina sprite comic
Quote:
Colored word bubbles are my thing! Actually, I'm doing them because otherwise, the way I make the cartoons, it is nearly impossible to make them white. Can't really explain it more than that. Also, I have it sometimes because I don't put the little lines coming off to show who's speaking. Different backgrounds I've found to be a problem at times, and other times I just can't find them. Mostly I just use that forest stuff, and I think I may stick with it for now. Thanks for the compliment about the panels! I've always done that. I have years of experiance as a cartoonist (I'm 13 now). I've been making panel cartoon since I was in third grade, and I've always made panels different sizes and shapes. Don't know why. I've thought about making my own adventure, but I've tried that and it just didn't work out. Maybe some day I'll come up with a good idea. Yeah, I can't save them as PNGs, since I guess I don't have that. JPGs are the only way I can make them small enough files to fit. I wish I could save them in something else, though! It's my second comic, but the other didn't quite work out. I'm more of a hand-drawn-cartoon kind of girl. But sprite comics are fun to make, I may just need some more practice. Phew. Thanks for the comment, though. I may use some suggestions. |

Re: Ocarina sprite comic
Wow, they were all very, very funny! By far the most original and humorous Zelda-themed humor by far, they are. *nods*
As a suggestion, perhaps you could draw and scan in your own backgrounds, and use sprites atop them? And also, use a more... Zelda-esque font, and not Arial (if possible). Those 2 elements aside, keep up the good work! And instead of a whole saga, perhaps some 15 panelled works? |
