Descendants of Destiny
Yokay, I'm doing this again...yes it's the fifth time or so but I will not let this fic go down for good...-_-
Anways, yeah, I'd like to try and continue posting this, seeing as how I'm getting back into it a lot. I know many people have read through some of it, so I'm going to post the newer chapters as well as the beginning ones for both old fans of the fic and new fans *if I get any* So, if you've gotten a lot read, you'll have chapter 10 to read now, and if you're just beginning, here's the prologue! Enjoy! ^_^ Prologue- The Legacy Lives On… There once was a group of three people who lived within the land of Hyrule at some of it’s earliest times. These three people were the bravest ever to be known, all containing great power and fortitude. The one was a beautiful young princess, the holder of the Triforce of Wisdom. Another was a young man with an ardent sense of righteousness, the holder of the Triforce of Courage. The final, was a young boy named Mirren, the holder of the Triforce of Justice. These three were the legendary Zelda, Link and Mirren… Link had gained the title of the Hero of Time when he saved Zelda and defeated the wicked Ganondorf with her help to save the land. Years later, he was united with his long lost little brother Mirren, and together alongside their friends saved Hyrule from terrible monsters. The child Mirren also managed to defeat Ganondorf and his sister Emralda in three grueling battles to rescue his friends and save Hyrule from an evil greater than human imagination. These three Hylians were like family, close to each other and greatly fond of each other. Over the decades that tumbled by, their families created the three people that were their descendants- and almost incarnations of them. In the new Hyrule, south from the land of Herlassia, the gorgeous Hyrule Castle still stood. Used for all this time, it still housed the royal family and all who dwelled within it. The three descendants of the legendary heroes were three of these many people. The descendant of the Hero of Time, also named Link, had been living in here for many years. His little brother Mirren, the descendant of the original Mirren, lived here too, though sadly very shortly after he was born, the brothers’ mother died. While this horrible tragedy came about, Link had been out adventuring the land, and he would not return for another year or two. The new princess Zelda, who was the descendant of the first princess Zelda, had been living also in the castle since was born. Unfortunately, another horrid tradegy struck over the years. When she was about twelve, her mother died of an illness. This hurt her emotionally very much, and when she was about seventeen then, her father passed on. The losing of her parents hurt her very much, though luckily, through her best friend Link and her life time assistant and advisor, slowly she healed. Her assistant and foster-mother almost was a strong, big woman named Impa. Tough on the outside and a great warrior was she, but on the inside she had a soft heart and a caring mind. This Impa was actually the descendant of the original Impa, the Sage of Shadow. With the decades coming by, incarnations of the original sages were made. Another Goron named Darunia was born, another Kokiri girl named Saria was born, another female Zora named Ruto was born, another Gerudo woman named Nabooru was born, and another wise man named Rauru was born. All new beings, though looking exactly the same as the originals. As their ancestors, they were great friends to the new Link, Zelda and Mirren, and their friends. Likewise, they were also the Sages their ancestors were, the guardians of the mystical temples that still stood within Hyrule. While they knew it, nobody else did. Within this new Hyrule, certain aspects from the one decades ago were still around. The Kokiri Forest, the Kokiri Children, Death Mountain, the Gorons, Kakariko Village, Zora’s Domain, the Zora, Terlon Forest, the Hyrule Sea, the Gerudo, the Gerudo Valley and Desert Wasteland, all still around along with every other area of the original Hyrule. Another Lon Lon Ranch still thrived, worked by descendants of the first workers- Talon, Ingo, Malon and Teerlis. Many of the monsters that roamed the lands back then were still around, though when things got out of hand, Link was always there to stop it and save everyone. So far over the years, the new Link, Zelda and Mirren were all great friends. They had gained great friendships among each other- some deeper affections than just friendship. Within Hyrule Castle, Zelda, Link and Mirren lived with their friends in peace. The new Impa was one of them along with Alsay, a young girl about Zelda’s age *which was 23, the same with Link, while Mirren was 13* and the descendant of Nepsana. She looked similar to her, though a bit more beautiful and a much more elegant appearance. The other was a Minotaur named Tarsuss, the descendant of Taursus. All over this new land were other descendants and legacies and aspects from the Hyrule decades ago- truly this kingdom was just as before… Chapter 10- Ambush on Terlon Chapter 10: Ambush on Terlon Ganondorf sat on the chair of his throne room. The room was nearly vacant of afterlife-beings besides the King of Evil himself, though he called for such a time to be in solitude. On one side of his golden chair was a small table with a glass filled to the rim with pinkish-bronze wine, and with an open bottle next to it. Though it seemed as if Ganondorf was ignoring it, and he certainly did for a good reason. For what he beheld in one of his massive hands was a recent letter written by Sephia, one with news that slightly displeased the King of Evil. *Dear Ganondorf, I have just discovered some disappointing news. Besides my father’s recent passing, I have found that the gathering of energy for your revival will take a little longer than expected. With me being queen now and having to rule over the entire castle, my time has diminished and is limited. Originally I could’ve had it by either today, but now I suspect it will take another two to three days. Hopefully you can find something to keep yourself occupied with until that time comes, and I shall work my hardest to get that energy. Sephia* Ganondorf gazed at the parchment for a few more moments, but soon clenched it in his hand, almost crumpling it, and merely tossed it away passed the table next to his chair. Leaning back, he grabbed his glass, though then stopped and instead grabbed the entire bottle. He grinned wickedly. “Oh don’t worry Sephia, I need nothing to occupy me. Though Mirren, Link and the others shall, and I already have something in mind for them…” the King of Evil whispered to himself. And with that, he leaned his head back and began to guzzle down the wine. * * * * * The new Link slowly opened his eyes. Normally it was the rays of the sun that shined through his window and onto his face, but today wasn’t the case. The sun didn’t shine at all in fact, the sky remained a light grey color. The clouds covered up the sun, and today it could not gleam over the land of Hyrule. He couldn’t hear a single bird chirping on this dismal, muted morning, not even the sounds of a squirrel scampering up the branches of an oak tree to grab either a walnut or acorn. It was days like these that made the young man tired- and days that at times brought about troubles. Slowly he got out of bed, and got about to doing his normal routine before he left his bedroom and started off the new day. This consisted of changing his clothes, quickly washing his face, combing his hair if needed and of course the rubbing of his cologne on his neck and such. While he felt a bit fatigued today, he felt happy also. Slowly a smile formed on his face, and he began to think of something he could do with his friends today. Once Link had finished, he left his bedroom and began striding down the hallways of the castle to the feast hall. He pretty much knew that he was the last one up, as that was usually the case with him and his friends. Also considering it was early and knowing his friends they were having breakfast, there’d be not other place but the feast hall for them to be in. After only a few short minutes or walking through the immense citadel, The descendant of the Hero of Time came to a set of huge wooden double doors, and pushed them open as he entered the hall where he could see Mirren, Zelda , Alsay and Tarrsus all sitting at a long wooden table eating their breakfast. Immediately the scents of hot tea and porridge filled his nostrils, and he smiled as he advanced over to his friends. Quickly the new Zelda managed to spot him out of the corner of her eye, and turned her head towards him as smiled warmly. “Morning Link” she greeted. He smiled right back at her. “Morning Zelda” She then moved down the table a little, providing enough space for him to sit down. “So, what’s for breakfast today?” he inquired. “One heck of a tasty mint tea!” Mirren exclaimed before taking a big sip from his cup. “And some kind of honey oatmeal too good it’s not even funny!!” Tarrsus added after he wolfed down a large spoonful of it. Alsay peered into the bowl where the porridge was. “Doesn’t surprise me that you would say that- this thing’s completely empty!!” “Hey, ya can’t blame me if I’m hungry!! I didn’t eat enough last night!” Tarrsus defended. The princess of Hyrule rolled her eyes. “For goodness sake ya foodbag you ate three bowls of onion soup, six gigantic helpings of the mashed potatoes, probably half of the green beans, four whole cooked trout, and then to top it off you had five cinnamon rolls!” she stated, “oh and don’t forget that entire flagon of Tallgrass Ale you literally chugged down your monstrous throat! Jeez I swear you must’ve eaten nearly all of Mirren’s weight!” The boy’s eyes slightly narrowed as he softly placed his tea cup down. He gazed at Zelda with a dirty look. “Ya got somethin’ against me being underweight?” he asked. Everyone burst out into laughter, even Mirren himself. Link merely chuckled a bit as he poured himself a cup of tea. “Heh. Nevertheless, I don’t need to eat any porridge” he stated, and then began to drink some of the hot, but delicious mint tea. Suddenly, the doors to the feast hall burst open and one of the castle guards ran in with a face of apprehension and trepidation. “Zelda, Link! We have a problem!!” he yelled. Everyone turned their attention to the soldier, who was panting, most definitely from running to the feast hall. “What is it?” the princess of Hyrule asked sounding worried. The guard got his breath back. “It’s at Terlon Forest!!! Apparently there are tons of monsters attacking nearby areas. Saria sent a message just recently. We can’t let this continue! ” he explained. The room filled with grim. Everyone couldn’t believe to hear of this, and it seemed like the happiness and care-free aura of the hall diminished within seconds. Link gritted his teeth. “We’ve gotta stop them…” he whispered. * * * * * After quickly gathering their weapons, Link, Alsay, Mirren, Impa and Tarrsus were ready to go. Zelda felt as if she should possibly go, with her healing and magic skills to aid everyone, though if another problem arose she would need to be at the castle to solve it. Nevertheless, Link and the others prepared one of the castle horses to go riding on, while Mirren called upon Gorida with his ocarina and got ready to fly off on him. They were now going as fast as they could through the deep forest. Link’s and the other’s horses were going incredibly fast, while Gorida flew as fast as a falcon. The wind blew against all of them, sending their air flying back, and the looser parts of their cloths flailing all around. As they continued traveling, the new Link could hear something in the distance. He could see smoke, the gleams of fire. Then he could hear explosions, metal clashing upon metal, and screams of agony and fright. “Everything must be up ahead!” he cried out to the others, “come on! Pick up the speed and we’ll be there in only a couple minutes!” “Right Link! Let’s get ready to rumble!” Alsay added. With that they all kicked their horses slightly, and the might stallions burned down the pathway at full speed as Gorida soared through the air faster than a hawk after its prey. As they continued, they could hear the sounds of destruction even better, and the awful sounds of battle. They bolted through the glades faster than any living thing had done before, and soon they came to a small, short cliff. Link and the others all leapt off their horses and ran to the edge, while Mirren sat atop Gorida who hovered in the air. Down below, was a massive melee of creatures, beings, and monsters. Fires blazed everyone around the war zone, their black veils of smoke rising up into the already grey sky. Trees were demolished everyone, either broken in half, shattered into pieces, burning to ashes, or already seared and charred from the fires that burned. The ground was nothing but dirt and debris, barely any grass could be seen. All over it was either burned to nothing, or blasted away by what were probably bombs. Blood stained the sepia colored ground, and crimsoned the once evergreen grass that stood. Bodies lay everyone, either with blood flowing from horrendous wounds, limbs missing from explosions, or charred by the awesome flames. As they continued looking with wide eyes, they saw Gorons, Gerudos and a couple Hylian Elves battling against scores of Moblins, Iron Knuckles, and Dinolfos. They watched as one man, clothed in light tan pants and a scarlet, loose, baggy tunic and with long dark indigo hair shattered lines of forces with numerous bombs. He dashed across the battlefield, knocking enemies flat with lightning fast kicks, punches and chops, and then throwing an array of normal bombs, small hand bombs and bombchus at distant adversaries to blow them away. Mirren and the others watched mesmerized by his greatness and the horror of the battle, and as more Gorons and Hylian Elf archers rushed in sending waves of bombs and arrows at the enemies, and as more elite Gerudo warriors pounded the lines, the monsters’ force grew weaker and weaker. Their numbers had dropped tremendously by now, and obviously outnumbered and outclassed, they retreated back into the forest. As everyone who fought either began to rest or celebrate in their victory, Nabooru and Darunia both gave each other a high-five. They both seemed to say something to each other, and then looked up on the cliff to see Link and the others. The two Sages smiled at then, and the group of warriors smiled right back. * * * * * A little while later, the Gorons, Hylian Elves and Gerudos all regrouped. They didn’t lose many, and only a few were injured. The battlefield was barren without flowers or grass, and the embers from the blazing fires still gleamed with heat. Everyone had moved away from that area, and over to a more nature-filled clearing within the forest. They set up fires all about their current-camp, and began to heal the injured and relax from their mighty battle. Right now, the descendant of the Hero of Time and the others all sat with Darunia, Saria and Nabooru around a fire, who were explaining to them about what was going on. “Do you guys know why those monsters had suddenly attacked here?” Alsay asked. Saria shook her head. “I don’t know at all, no one really does. I just heard news in the village about them coming through the forest nearby, and I joined up with Darunia and his Gorons to come help and heal whoever would get hurt in battle” the Kokiri girl responded, and the started to drink some her tea. Link nodded. “Do you have any idea of where they might’ve came from?” he inquired. Saria shook her head, but Darunia seemed to have an answer. “From what I heard from some of the Gorons in the higher regions of the mountains, they saw some of the monsters marching through the forest by one of the old hideouts. They might’ve come from there” the Goron leader stated. Nabooru nodded. “Yep, and the tracks I followed seemed to come from there” she added. Impa’s eyes suddenly widened. “Wait, you mean the old castle?” she asked out loud. The new Sage of Spirit turned to her, looking almost befuddled by Impa’s sudden confusion. “Yes…what’s wrong about that?” The Sage of Shadow looked greatly apprehensive. “That castle is actually almost like a temple” she began, “long ago, it was like the other forest temple. It has sacred items and royal relics in there actually. They’re hidden somewhere within the castle, and if those monsters somehow come upon them…well…we got problems …” Nabooru, Saria and Darunia both seemed to realize the sudden danger. “Oh my God that’s right…the two swords and the others …” Darunia spoke. Ceerlin cocked an eyebrow. “Look, I need one of you two to go get Zelda and bring her here from the castle. She knows nearly just as much as me on these items, and she’ll be a help to this. The new Link’s eyes bugged out. “Are you serious!? Impa, it’ll be too dangerous for her! She could get killed!” he exclaimed. “She’ll be fine Link, she’s a lot tougher than you may think, and it’s important that she’s here with us for that. Listen, I don’t know why the monsters just chose to hideout there, it’s rather suspicious, considering there’s better, more durable forts nearby. I don’t like the sounds of this one bit, so we gotta work fast. One of you two can leave tomorrow morning. Right now its too late at night, we need to relax and plan” The descendant of the Hero of Time nodded. “Then I think we should follow the monsters, and possibly see what they’re up to in there and whatever plans they might have in store. Because something tells me they’ll come back for a second attack if they don’t find the items and realize their power” the new Link explained. Darunia smirked. “Well if you’d wish to go to that fort, you’d need bombs and explosives to make your way in. And you’d need more than the Goron special crop” he spoke. Alsay looked a bit curious. “What else would we need then? And where could we get them?” Saria seemed to smile as she finished her tea. “You could go to Salva’s shop. He’s spent years creating new bombs and making them by the dozens. His shop contains all kinds of explosives, surely he’ll have the kinds you’ll need” she said. “Was that the guy who was fighting with all those bombs in the battle?” the new Link asked. Saria nodded. “Yep, that was him. He’s quite amazing, he’s helped protect the Kokiri Forest on numerous occasions, and stops by a lot to say hi or check on us. You could talk with him now, but he left a little bit ago to take care of his shop. Me and Darunia can go with you tomorrow to get the stuff” Link cocked an eyebrow. “And why would you two come?” he asked. Darunia grinned. “Because as nice as Salva is, he isn’t too keen on strangers wanting his bombs for plans or reasons he doesn’t find logical or reasonable. And when that guy’s temper goes, heh, it really *goes*!” the Goron replied. Mirren’s eyes bugged out as he gulped. “That doesn’t sound promising…” he whispered. Everyone began to chuckle. * * * * * The next morning, the Gorons, Gerudos and Hylian Elves all still stayed at their little camp. They still knew that the monsters were alive, and if they tried to attack again, they’d be the only force to stop them. Nabooru, Saria and Darunia all decided on that the night before, and also decided that the camp would stay considering Link, Mirren and the others would soon be leaving for the fort. Currently, the new Link, Mirren, Saria and Darunia were all walking to Salva’s shop, where Link and Mirren could pick up the bombs they’d need. Mirren still seemed a bit nervous about going to this man, but Darunia and Saria continued explaining on what a good guy he really is. “Believe me guys, if there’s anyone who Salva likes the most, it’s probably me” the Sage of Forest spoke. Darunia smiled. “I think I gotta agree with ya there Saria, after all you’re the one who spends the most time with when he visits Kokiri Village.” The Goron added. Saria smiled back up at him. “I know. He’s such a dreamy guy…” Link grinned. “Heh, sounds like you got somethin’ for this guy…” he teased. Darunia and Mirren both laughed, while Saria slapped the new Link’s arm. “I do not!” she yelled. Link now laughed, and even Saria managed to smirk a little from the joke. After a few more moments, the laughter broke, and Mirren looked at Darunia. “So, how many bombs does this guy actually have?” the boy inquired. The Sage of Fire smirked. “Uncountable amounts” Darunia replied, “he’s literally spent years making them, his shop is nearly filled.” Mirren’s eyes slightly widened. Saria then noticed the shop up ahead. “Hey guys there it is!” she exclaimed, and then began running over it as the others followed behind the girl. It was almost like a small tower, a rather slimmer and narrow, butt round and much taller than normal houses. Saria opened the door, and stepped in as the others came in one at a time. “Salva! Salva where are you!?” she called out. Within a few seconds the younger man stood up from behind the counter and a few crates, and smile at the girl. “Right here Saria, I was just fixing up a few bombchus. What’s up?” he asked with a smile. The Kokiri girl pointed to the new Link and Mirren. “These are my two friends, Link and Mirren. They’re gonna be going to the old fort, and they need a bunch of bombs and explosives, can you help them out?” Salva’s smile diminished as he looked at the descendant of the Hero of Time and Mirren with a stern expression. His brown eyes filled with a bit of suspiciousness. “Friends huh?” he began, “what the heck are you two goin’ there for?” the new Link was just about to speak before Darunia interrupted him. “They’re going with a few others to find those monsters that attacked the forest yesterday. They’re gonna find out what they’re up to and finish them off if needed” he explained. Salva nodded, and then smiled at the two brothers. “Heh, that’s fine by me. If Darunia and Saria say it then I can trust it. Nice to meet you two, I’m Salva if you didn’t know, I create bombs and help protect the forest” he greeted. Link smirked. “I noticed. You did a fine job yesterday with those bombs. You’re impressive” the young man spoke. Salva smirked back. “Well once ya basically live with them for about six years ya can kinda handle them with ease” Link laughed, and Salva smiled at his joke. “Come on guys, I’ll show ya what I got” he said motioning for the new Link and Mirren to follow him. The two brothers then followed him behind the counter, and into the back of his shop. Here there were innumerable wooden boxes and barrels, obviously filled with bombs or explosive devices. There were a few tables to, covered with blue prints, pencils, books and bomb materials. They soon stopped by a barrel, which Salva quickly opened up and began to rummage inside of. “Yeah, these are the basic bombs, the ones you can find in the shops at Kakariko or the ones Gorons produce. They’re just a bit smaller, here, take the whole barrel” Darunia stepped in, and lifted it up with ease. “I’ll take this one, you guys get the rest” he said. Link smiled up at Darunia. “Thanks bud” Salva then stepped over to a large crate, which he opened up and took a look inside of. The new Link and Mirren joined him as he inspected the contents. “These are bombchus, but I enhanced them so that they go a bit father and move in more a straight line. Take however many you need and put ‘em in another barrel” Salva explained. “I’ll get this one too” Darunia added, and then began to take out the bombchus one by and one and stick them in an empty barrel. Link and Mirren then followed Salva over to a table where a few dark brown, reddish bags lay. “Take these bomb bags too” he said, and then tossed them over to Link who easily caught them and stuffed them away in his knapsack. Salva then took a few glances around, and looked back at the new Link and Mirren. “Okay, I’ll show you guys the special stuff I have, they’re right over here” the young man stated as he pointed over to a shelf. He stepped over to it, and the two brothers followed him. Salva examined the items on it a bit, and smiled. Mirren’s eyes widened slightly at the small, cylinder-like bombs. “Wow, are those bombs?” he questioned. Salva looked back at him. “Yep, they’re small ones, no bigger than your palm. They’re perfect for close quarter fighting, and they’re easier to carry and throw, not to mention you can throw a few of these at once.” He explained. Link took a look at them. “Hey! Those are the kind you can tie to arrows and fire them off with right?” the descendant of the Hero of Time said. Salva smiled and nodded. “Yep, they’re great for that too. Grab a bag or two and fill ‘em up, then make sure to grab the lighter rings while you’re at it.” Link managed to pick out a pair of the small items, and smirked. Saria looked up at them. “What are those for?” she asked. Salva was about to answer, but the new Link managed to beat him to it. “They’re for lighting wicks” he began, “ya put up near the middle of your fingers and rub them together when a wick’s between them.” Salva could only smirk at who the young man knew about them. He can came to another barrel as Mirren stayed by his side, and then opened it up and tossed the lid away. Inside were a good deal of dark grey powder, and two scoopers sticking in it. “Here we go. Grab one of the bags from the pile over by ya and start scooping away into it” Salva told Mirren, and then grabbed a bag himself. Mirren reached down and picked up one of the dark tan, velvet-like bags, and opened it up as he grabbed a scooper. “I take it this is lighting powder?” the child inquired, and then picked up a large amount of it and poured it into his bag. The young man smiled and nodded as he poured a scoop-full into his own bag. “Yep, it’s stuff I made myself too. It can light much quicker and doesn’t need to have a lot for a line to light. All you need is a little bit and it’ll burn fine, then ya save a lot of it. And if you can create a big clump of, like a pile, it can actually explode like a bomb.” Salva replied. Mirren grinned as he poured another deal into his bag. “Heh, cool” Mirren whispered. Soon the two finished, and once they tied up their bags Mirren took both and went over to the others who were by the doorway. “That all you guys need?” he asked. The new Link nodded. “Yeah, this should all be enough. Thanks Salva” he replied. The young man smirked. “No problem at all. Friends of Saria and Darunia are friends of mine. Besides, I want ay to take out those buggers. Good luck with your task” Salva spoke. Ceerlin nodded back, and Saria smiled. “Well I think we’ll be leaving now, bye Salva, see ya later” the Sage of Forest explained, and began to leave as the others followed and said goodbye to Salva. Mirren was the last one to leave, but just before he was about to, Salva stopped him. “Hey kid” Mirren turned around, and then managed to catch a small bag of what seemed to have bombs in it. “Take those, they’re water bombs” Salva explained, “they have water in them, and when the wick catches fire it makes the water boil until the whole bomb explodes and sends water everywhere. The outsides are weak so it can break apart easier. I’m sure they’ll help ya somewhere. Mirren took a quick glance inside, and then smiled up at the young man. “Thanks, later” he responded, and then began to leave again as Salva smiled at him. “Later kid” he called back, and as the door closed he could see Mirren waving once at him. Just a note, this is only half of chapter 10, I'll be doing that with the chapters now to lighten the reading on people, and plus big chapters seems to turn off readers. Just a lil ease for ya ^_~ |

Re: Descendants of Destiny
Heh, thanks man. I'll be sure to check out your fic soon, and I implore you to go to the Writer's Council, you'll have fun there ^_~
Back at the camp then, when Link and the other soon returned, they told everyone of the plan. Link, Alsay, and Tarrsus would all be leaving for the fort and try to take out the monsters there. Currently, Mirren and Impa were flying over to the castle on Gorida to get Saldia, even if Link put up a mighty argument that he should go instead of Mirren. After only a few minutes of getting ready, they were prepared to leave, though they still needed to wait. * * * * * Currently Impa and Mirren were already inside Hyrule Castle. They made great time getting to the massive fortress, and were also making good time as they sped down the hallways at full speed. They had been looking for Zelda for minutes now, and saw no sign of her. “What the heck! Where in God’s name is she?” the child asked out loud. The Sage of Shadow continually glanced around. “No clue Mirren, but if we wanna get going to that temple, we better find her fast” Impa stated. The boy nodded. “Heck yeah, God knows how well hidden those items are now, and the monsters could be getting closer and closer to finding them…” Mirren spoke. “Exactly, and believe me if they do find them, we’ll have trouble…” Impa added, “so we better find Zelda fast!” As they dashed full speed down the hallway, the princess of Hyrule was slowly striding down the other hallway reading a book- and heading straight for Impa and Mirren. “Yeah, but if we can’t find her we’re done!” the child began. Just then Zelda just began to turn the corner, and unfortunately Mirren didn’t notice her. “Man I swear if she’s out shopping or something I’m gonna blow a AHH GOD!!!” he screamed then as he finally saw her. Quickly taking her attention from her book, she looked up at Impa and Mirren, almost screaming herself from the shock and as they sped at her. Impa pressed her feet down, eventually stopping herself, but Mirren on the other hand managed to avoid Zelda, though crashing straight into a large brass vase in the long run. He smashed right into it, and actually flipped over it as it fell down. The new Zelda nearly gasped. “Oh my gosh! Mirren are you alright? Impa what’s going on? I thought you guys were all at Terlon!” she exclaimed. Impa stood hunching over as she literally gasped for breath, eventually though she managed to stand up and get her breathing back. “We were. We ended up driving the monsters off, but then we found out that they’re holding up in the old castle, the one that’s like the forest temple now” she began, “we came back here to get you” Zelda’s eyes bugged out, and Impa continued. “You know about the sacred weapons hidden in there, and we need you to help out to get them.” The new Zelda’s face flashed with apprehension. “Impa…I don’t know, I can’t do it. What if I get attacked by a monster? I won’t be able to stop it. It’s too dangerous for me…” the princess of Hyrule tried to explain. Impa smirked. “You’ve got nothing to worry about. You’ll have Link and Mirren by your side the entire time. And you know how tough they are” Just then Mirren began to groan out loud as he still lay slightly writhing on the floor next to the vase. “Ohhhh I’m ruined…” he moaned. Impa’s expression stoned to a stony one, and Zelda seemed a bit concerned for him. “Mirren, are you okay? Do you want me to get the doctor or something?” she inquired. The Sage of Shadow simply grabbed Mirren by the arm and lifted him up into the air before she set him down, all in a rather rough form. He actually cried out once from the rush, and breathed heavily once he was on his feet. “He’ll be fine…” Impa spoke with a grin. She then looked at the princess of Hyrule. “Honestly though, you’ll be fine too. You’ll never be left alone, someone will always be with you. This is very important Zelda, if the monsters get those weapons, the destruction could be awful…you must help us…” The young woman kind of seemed to be convinced by Impa. “Well…I guess I could go…actually, I will” she replied. Impa smiled, and Saldia smiled too. They continued talking about the matter, as Mirren then finally managed to regain his composure, and stood up. It was at that moment he noticed what Zelda really looked like now, and instantly his eyes kind of widened. She was wearing her same cream colored baggy pants as always, though on her upper body she had a crimson colored shirt like the blue one she wore. It seemed to be made form the same material, a nice velvet, though this one was long sleeve. Then she had a very large dark white sash or scarf-like piece around her neck, which then flowed down her side and to her hips. She looked more beautiful than ever. *“Dannnng…”* Mirren said to himself in his head, before then looking a bit shocked, *“Wait, what the heck did I just say?”* Just then it seemed Impa and Zelda finished talking, and were ready to go. “Okay, we’ll get leaving then. You ready Mirren?” the Sage of Shadow asked. The boy nodded, and Impa nodded back. “Alright then, let’s get outta here…” With that Impa then took off down the hallway, and Zelda quickly followed behind. Mirren oddly stayed behind for a second, and after a few second of waiting, turned to the vase he tripped over and sneered. “Don’t, ever trip me again…” he whispered, and then kicked it- only to find out that it was harder than expected. With a yelp of pain, he began to hop up and down on one foot as he groaned in pain and clutched his throbbing foot. Soon he stopped, and flared at the large jar. “Stupid piece of junk!” the boy roared as he picked it up, and then tossed it away. It landed flat on the ground, and a huge piece of it instantly broke off. Mirren’s face had the “eek!” expression the very second that happened, and as he stood gazing at the broken vase with his eyes bugging out he actually bite down on his knuckles in an action of fright. Soon he took his fist out of his mouth, a few glances around, and then bolted down the hallway. “I didn’t do it!” he yelled. * * * * * A little while later, Mirren, Impa and Zelda all managed to reach the camp. They made it in good time, and by the time they did, everyone else was nearly ready to get going. Currently Link was placing a few bombs in a bomb bag as Darunia stood by him. “You guys got enough of the bombs you need?” the Goron leader asked. Link nodded as he tied his bomb bag to his belt. “Yep, I think we should. Everyone’s got enough. We’ll be fine” he answered. Darunia smiled and nodded back. “Yeah, but are you sure on how to get there?” he questioned with a bit of a smirk. The new Link stopped whatever motion he was doing, and pondered for a minute. He smiled with embarrassment. “Actually no, I guess that’s the one problem we have…” he responded. Darunia smiled. “Don’t worry, I figured this’d happen. I have someone to guide ya…” he spoke, and then from the sky a dragon warrior flew down next to him. His scales were like the color of lava, and had armor with a very dark, deep grey color. He had a large breast plate, and shoulder pads that had spike-like tips on the ends which pointed outwards. On his enormous fists were iron gauntlets the colors of his armor, with spikes on the knuckles and openings for the fingers. For pants he had chain mail ones, with a lighter grey color than the rest of his armor. His head was sort of like a crocodile’s, but more dragon-like with two black horns that sprouted backwards. His eyes were just wide slits, with pupils the color of gold fresh out of the ground. Link’s eyes lit up. “Ralon! Hey man what’s up!?” the young man exclaimed. The dragon warrior smiled. “Not much, nice to see ya again” Ralon replied. The descendant of the Hero of Time smiled and nodded back. Ralon was a dragon warrior who had lived with the Gorons up by Death Mountain and helped to keep the mountains safe for all people. He was a very strong creature, with great weaponry skill. Link had been a friend to Ralon all his life, though it had been a while since they saw each other, so a meeting like this certainly pleased the both of them. Just then Mirren and the others all walked up by Link. “We’re all ready big bro, we can leave whenever” Mirren stated. The new Link nodded down at his little brother, and then looked back at Darunia, Saria, Nabooru, the Gorons, Hylian Elves and all the Gerudos. “Well guys, we’re gonna get goin’. We’ll be sure to take those monsters out and keep peace here in the woods. Bye guys!” he called out, and he and all the others waved to them as they walked off and as Darunia, Saria and all the others waved back to them and yelled their goodbyes. Nabooru kind of leaned her head at Darunia’s. “So, when are *we* gonna leave?” she whispered. The Sage of Fire grinned. “Once I get a few of my Gorons to agree to come with we can begin following them…” Darunia replied. Last edited by Mirren; 06-14-2004 at 06:06 PM. |

Re: Descendants of Destiny
Again, nice work. I'm interested in seeing what kind of menace they're going to have to face in this temple. Glad someone's finally sending Zelda into a dungeon, that's something you don't see too often. Hey, well good luck man!!
P.S. - I see you've read my fic prologue (glad someone appreciates my work). I'll visit the Writer's Circle soon, thanks for the invite!

Re: Descendants of Destiny
Thanks...as always ^^
Chapter 11- A friend met again Link, Mirren and all the others kept a good pace on their horses. Mirren was riding with his big brother on Lapola, seeing as how he felt he didn’t want Gorida to become involved with this battle at the fort. Ralon flew over them with his large wings, flying just as fast as their horses. “So, you guys know anything about his place?” Link asked out loud. “I do” Zelda began, “it was originally a castle that the King and Queen of Hyrule ages ago would reside in every so often. But once they realized Hyrule Castle was much bigger and better, they got rid of it. They actually sold it to one of their richest vassals, who lived in it with his family and friends for years. Hylian Elves and Hylians from all over Terlon came to live there, and ended paying for their room, like buying a house almost. In the end the vassal made a great deal of money, and ended up making the castle and castle life there just as royal and grand as it was at Hyrule Castle. As years passed, the King and Queen of Hyrule decided that their most precious items of the royal family, and the two sacred swords used in years before to fight evil before should be hidden in someone besides the obvious Hyrule Castle, so they were hidden in there. They remained safe for decades, even when the vassal passed on and most people moved out as monsters and thieves looted the place for treasure. To this day they are still safe, but with those monsters occupying it, the chances of them staying so are slimmer. Right now this isn’t about taking out those monsters anymore, what’s more important is saving those sacred items and making sure that ancient monument isn’t cursed with monsters. It’s like the forest temple almost, although also it is a place for the spirits of the earth.” Mirren stared at the princess of Hyrule as his eyes bugged out. “How do you know all of this?” he asked. She turned to him and smiled. “Lot’s a reading…” Zelda merely answered. Ralon smirked. “Yeah, it was such a nice place at one time. The stones were a creamy white, the inside was immaculate, their were portraits of royal family members all over, dazzling carpets, it’s a shame that it’s nothing more now than just a hideout for monsters. Thank God there’s the sacred items hidden there or the place would be just plain worthless to Hyrule” the dragon warrior spoke. Tarrsus nodded. “Yeah, I swear I can’t wait to pound those creatures into the dirt now…” the Minotaur added. Ralon smirked again. “Well I think you’ll get your chance now bud, seeing as how the place is up ahead” he stated. Everyone instantly turned their attention to it, and gazed at the castle maybe a mile or two away. The castle sat on a small island in the middle of a lake, connected by a strip of land that connected to the coasts. Its white color was now mixed with dark grey and moss, and the once tan tower tops were now a dark, but unsightly russet colored, created by the rain, sleet and decay of age. Above it could be seen large, light black birds flying in the sky, and Zelda watched them. “What are those? Zerdocks?” she questioned out loud. “Actually they’re known as Terlon Rooks” Ralon responded, “they’re a little bigger than Zerdocks, and more muscular almost. Their colors are different too, these ones mostly have black feathers, and resemble actual rooks and hawks a bit more than Zerdocks. Their eyes are just slits also, and a deep red color, the same with the manes they have on the back of their necks and the top of their heads.” Just then everyone could hear a few people walking up behind them. “Heh, knowing everything about another monster huh Ralon?” a familiar, deep voice said out loud. Ralon smirked, and while everyone else turned around to be a bit shocked, the dragon warrior began to speak. “You bet Darunia” It was true. Right now Darunia, Nabooru and a few scores of Gorons and Gerudos stood behind Link and the others, and couldn’t believe this sudden arrival. “What are you guys doing here!?” Tarrsus exclaimed. Nabooru smiled. “Just helpin’ you guys out. We weren’t gonna let you get all the action” the Sage of Spirit replied. “But what about all the others back at the camp? Who’s watchin’ them?” the new Link asked. “Salva and Saria are takin’ care of them, they’ll be fine. We’re here to help you guys, we gotta take out those monsters and make sure you guys get the sacred items.” Darunia explained. Mirren smirked “Heh, those things seem pretty dang important” Impa nodded. “Yep. Like Darunia said, they’re no longer safe here. With monsters and thieves occupying this place, their chances of staying secret lessen. And even if we take out these guys now, more will come back, as the castle continues to age, decay and perish, their hiding places will be easier to find. You, Link and Zelda must take them back with us to Hyrule Castle and watch over them.” She spoke. The new Link’s eyes slightly widened, and Mirren merely grinned. “Heh, this is gonna be fun…” the child whispered. Link seemed to smile at his little brother’s comment, and as he messed up his hair affectionately looked at Darunia and Nabooru. “Alright, thanks guys for coming to help us. This’ll be a lot easier now” the descendant of the Hero of Time began, “I say we all split up into two groups. One can attack from the front and break in, while the other breaks in from the back. This might be able to confuse the monsters long enough, and then we’ll just bombard them with our assaults. How’s that sound?” Everyone smiled and nodded. “Sounds great Link, you’re the perfect leader for this” Nabooru stated. He smiled at her, and then got a more serious expression as he looked about at everyone. “Okay, Gorons, go with your leader Darunia and get ready to attack the front, Ralon and Tarrsus, go with ‘em” Link shouted for everyone to hear. The Gorons, Darunia, Tarrsus and Ralon all nodded. Link then looked at the Gerudos. “The rest of us will attack from the back then. Gerudos, make sure to follow as Nabooru says, me, Mirren and Alsay will be with you all to help out. Everyone think this is good!?” They all nodded. They all seemed intensified as they got their weapons ready and had stern expressions of their faces. The new Link nodded. “Good! Right now everyone we have a much more important job than destroying those monsters. We must rescue the sacred items that are hidden in there, and make sure they don’t fall into evil hands. Are you all ready!?” They all exploded in a cheer. “Then lets’ go!” Link yelled. Within a little while, everyone got ready for their assault. Darunia’s group stood from the front of the castle, while Link’s group waited in the back. It was decided that once Link’s group could hear the Gorons’ bombs exploded, they’d rush in. The Gorons all stood in a scattered formation, each holding a bomb in their hands. Once they were lit, they all charged at the doors, and when close enough hurled their weapons at it. They all landed near it, and upon doing so after a few seconds created a massive explosion that blew the wooden door to rubble. On the other side of the castle, the new Link and the others could all hear it. The young man’s eyes narrowed. “Let’s go” he merely said, and with that they all charged at the back doorway and quickly broke through. The Gerudos, Nabooru and everyone else followed him in, and soon ran in a good way of the castle. Right now they were in some seemed to be the great hall, which was very large, and rather long. All over pillars and statues either lay in pieces or stood them as their stone complexion began to split from age. The walls were also like this, though not as damaged. The carpets were actually quite clean, almost immaculate, like someone had been washing them. All over the room shined, all that seemed broken were a couple statues and pillars, but that was it! The Gorons and the rest from the other group soon joined Link and his group. Everyone looked around in shock. “How is this place so…so…clean…?” Link asked out loud. No one seemed to have an answer. “I don’t know Link…this place is supposed to be decades and decades and decades old, yet it seems as if people were living here currently!” Impa added. “Yeah, and where are all the monsters?” Tarrsus questioned. Mirren continued glancing around, but then noticed a black flash out of the corner of his eye. He looked up on one of the balconies, and could see the stray feathers of a Terlon Rook. “Up on the balconies!” he exclaimed pointing up. Instantly everyone looked up at them, and before long numerous Iron Knuckles, Terlon Rooks, Dinolfos and Moblins revealed themselves as they grinned down at the band of warriors. Link’s eyes intensified as he clenched the handle on the Master Sword and the Mirror Shield. “Time to fight guys!” he yelled. At that moment, all the Iron Knuckles, Moblins and Dinolfos leapt down from the balconies, as the Terlon Rooks flew down to the ground. They all unleashed their own battle cry, and pulled out whatever weaponry they had and flew at the warriors. “Let’s get ‘em!!!” Tarrsus screamed, and with that dashed at the monsters as the others followed. The minotaur burst onto the scene, and within three seconds cut down two Moblins with two swift cuts of his double headed axe. A Dinolfos rushed at him, and he then took out his mace, and after a deadly kick to the gut smashed it over the head with his mace. Two more of the lizard warriors came at him, but as they tried to dice him up, he merely leapt into the air to evade the attacks. As the lizard warriors stumbled forward, Tarrsus crashed down upon them, and quickly brought his weapons down to finish off two more enemies. Alsay and Impa worked together amazingly. They were currently fighting off a band of Moblins, and were doing fine in the battle. The huge beast warriors may’ve been double their size, but for two for two of the toughest females in the land, that was no problem. Alsay was already sending a barrage of slashes upon one, each time creating a new gash and have blood erupt from it. Meanwhile the Sage of Shadow continually blocked stab after stab attempted by two Moblins. Each time they sent a thrust of their lances at the deadly warrioress, all that happened was yet another clash upon metal. Soon though it seemed Impa grew tired of this, and jumped up into the air and she kicked both Moblins in the faces. Grunting in pain, they staggered backwards, and soon Impa rushed at them both and stabbed them straight in the stomachs. Before he had joined up with his big brother to fight, Mirren was by himself as he blasted away enemy by enemy with whatever projectile or beam weapon he had at his disposal. An entire line of Dinolfos had rushed at him before, but within seconds he had unleashed the fury of his Thunder Diamond, and blew them away with one thunderbolt. Then about four Terlon Rooks tried to dive bomb him, but failed miserably as he turned them to ash with a couple mere fireballs from his Blaze Diamond. Later in the melee then, Link and Mirren basically stood together. Continually, Link was shooting off beams at Iron Knuckles and Dinolfos, each time hitting one and blowing it to nothing. Mirren was currently loading up arrows in his bow by the second, and firing them off at unlucky enemies who soon were shot down. Soon though, six huge Monblins *Moblins who were another eight feet taller than normal ones and much more muscular* ran out onto the battlefield of the castle, wielding massive clubs and ready to kill all in their sight. They stopped, and sneered at the new Link and Mirren, who were a mere forty feet from them. The two brothers noticed the line of mammoth warriors, and instantly turned their attention to them. The Moblins gave them no time to attack, and simply smashed their clubs onto the ground. Six shockwaves soared at the two brothers at full speed as they destroyed the floor, though even such a deadly attack was no vexation for Link and Mirren. Leaping up into the air to evade the shockwaves, they then pointed their swords at the six Monblins, and once the blades glowed blue, fired off three beams of energy each. The blasts rocketed from the weapons, and the Monblins froze at their oncoming. Soon the beams hit them, and with an explosion of light and energy each, totally disintegrating them. Ralon literally was like a beast. Currently he was dealing with a small cluster of Terlon Rooks, who continually assaulted him in a group attack so he wouldn’t be able to fight them off. Right now they all flew in, and surrounding him began to incessantly peck at him with their beaks, slash at him with their talons, and smack him with their wings. Disoriented by the mass attack and winds, Ralon has no choice to go all out. In flash he erupted with strength as he roared at the top of his lungs and sent all the Terlon Rooks flying. They squawked in shock, and flapped their wings continually to regain their composure. Ralon roared again at them, and spread out his wings as he took flight at them. The dragon warrior soared through the air at one who tried to escape his wrath, though only met a swift slash of his right claw to its neck. It shrieked in pain, and then fell to the floor dead. Ralon hovered in the air sneering at it, but then stumbled forward as he felt a Rook fly by and connect its talons on his shoulder. It squawked in fury, and then turned around as it flew at him. The dragon warrior did the same, and as they came at each other did a massive uppercut with his claws. Blood and feathers of the Terlon Rook flew everywhere, and the beast plummeted to the ground- its body lifeless. Ralon wasted no time, and turned around and flew at the three remaining Rooks who grouped together. The dragon got his claws ready, though quickly realized they’d be useless. The three Rooks began to flap their wings at an incredible speed, sending terrible winds at Ralon. They struck against him, and he began to struggle to keep his composure and not get blown away them. He grunted and winced as he tried to fly through them, though only met failure as they began to very slowly move him back. In a flash though he opened up his mouth, and from then rocketed out three blazing fireballs. They flew straight though the winds, and managed to hit the three Rooks dead on. There was an explosion of fire from each hit, and once the smoke diminished enough no sign of the monster birds were around. As the massive melee continued, the monsters numbers quickly decreased. Their forces were no match for the team of Link, Mirren and the others, their current fate was only for death. The remaining beasts all retreated outside the castle using the back entrance, though only straight into Gorida, who stood glaring at all of them. Instantly they stopped dead in their tracks, and froze in fear as the monstrous behemoth glared at them. Mirren stood within the castle, grinning at his monster companion as he held his ocarina in his hand. Gorida then took a step back, and it seemed to take a deep breath. Mirren watched closely as winds poured into the monster’s mouth and down its throat- and then the mouth and spines of the beast lit up with a sky blue color. With that, he breathed, and a blue beam of what looked like lightning of energy rocketed out of its mouth, and struck the monsters head on. There was a large explosion of light and energy, and gusts of wind soared from it. Everyone in the castle covered their eyes and tried to keep standing from the massive explosion. Within a few more seconds though it was over, and as the dust settled Gorida stood before a huge crater as he continually let out roars of dominance. Everyone inside the castle seemed to let out a loud cheer, and they all began to hoot and holler to celebrate their victory. All the monsters were now destroyed, and the sacred items were safe. All they had to do know was find it, and that was what Impa began to do as everyone else still rejoiced over the defeat of the creatures. The Sage of Shadow stood by a wall with a large painting of the Triforce above it, looking as if she was inspecting it. She pressed her body to it, and cupper an ear to it also as she seemed to listen like something was going on behind it. Within a few more seconds, her eyes bugged out, and she almost seemed shocked. “What in the world!?” she exclaimed rather loudly. Instantly everyone stopped their celebration, and Zelda went over to her. “Impa, what’s wrong?” she asked. The new Sage of Shadow glanced up at the wall. “This is supposed to be where the secret entrance is for the hidden room with the items. I remember reading in all the tomes that a portrait of the Triforce would be above it. But we can’t get in now because…it’s solid!!” Everyone else’s eyes widened when Impa had said that, and a few gasps arose from the crowd of warriors. “What the heck!? It’s impossible! How are we gonna get to the items now if the room’s blocked by a solid wall!?” Link yelled. Mirren’s eyes filled to fill with irritation as he gritted his teeth. “I’ll tell ya what we do! We take out a few bombs and blast the dang thing to smithereens until we get to that room!” the boy screamed, and then was just about to light a bomb before a young, female voice could be heard. “No! Mirren don’t do it!!” it shouted, and everyone then turned their attention to the front entrance of the castle as a young girl, seeming to be Mirren’s age ran into the castle. At first she hunched over breathing hard, but soon seemed to get her energy back as she dashed over by Mirren. “You can’t blow up the wall!!” The boy’s eyes bugged out as he gazed at the girl. She seemed to be just as tall as him, if not only an inch shorter. Her skin was a light brown color, almost like a bronze. Her eyes were a rich brown color, like her hair, which was actually more like a sepia color and was in a long pony-tail. Right now she was wearing a light blue dress with all kinds of pink flower patterns; certainly she was a pretty young girl. “Na...Na…Naltia?” Mirren mumbled in a rather quiet tone. The girl smiled. “Yeah, sorry I had to enter on such an odd occasion, but hiya Mirren…” she replied. Link smirked. “Hey! You’re Mirren’s friend aren’t ya!?” the young man asked. Naltia looked at him and nodded as she still smiled. “Yep, good to see ya again Link!” the girl said back. The new Zelda’s face lit up. “Aww! Naltia so good to see you again!” the young woman exclaimed. The girl looked at Zelda then. “Hey Zelda! Good to see you too!” They both smiled at each other, and then Zelda looked at Mirren. “Mirren, aren’t you gonna say hi to your friend now?” she asked in a comical manner. Still the child was staring at Naltia with his eyes bugging out and his mouth agape. “I’m still just getting over the shock…” he lowly and rather slowly spoke, and then shook his head like a dog and regained his composure. “Holy cow it’s so good to see you again Naltia! How ya been!?” The girl smiled. “I’ve been fine about you?” Mirren smiled right back. “I’ve been great! Now what da heck’s up with me not being able to blow the wall up?” he questioned. Naltia’s smiled kind of diminished. “Well...because the sacred items aren’t behind there anymore…they’re in another place…not in this castle…” she answered. Mirren’s face exploded with disbelief. Everyone else in the room was just as taken aback. “Whata ya mean they’re not here anymore!!!??? Where in the blue heck are they!? What da hee-zel is goin’ on around here!?” Mirren roared in a verbal explosion. The girl winced a bit from Mirren’s yelling. “Listen, I don’t know the whole story. All of you guys come to my mansion, my dad can explain the whole thing to all of you…” Naltia explained. Ralon tilted his head to Darunia’s ear. “Man this day is screwy…” the dragon warrior whispered. * * * * * After that Naltia led the entire troupe to the gorgeous mansion where she and her father lived, which he owned and ruled. They took a very quick route, and since they were all in a hurry to get there and find out everything, they didn’t take the time to see how gorgeous the place really was- outside and inside. Naltia’s father was actually the duke of the small land within Terlon Forest called Lansuu. It was a scenic piece of territory that contained glades, dells, forests, cliffs, villages, hills and rivers. It stretched out for miles long, and in fact was the same land that was ruled by the original vassal that once dwelled within the ancient castle. It took nearly a half an hour to reach it, and then probably fifteen minutes to get in, have Naltia explain to the guards what was going on, and then navigate through the whole structure and find where her father was, in the main hall to be exact. The Duke sat with a few officials of his as they all conversed and drank rich wines at the high table, though soon their peaceful gathering was interrupted as Naltia and approximately seventy other people charged through the doors…or to be exact only twenty or so, the other fifty were either down the hallway or somewhere else in the mansion behind the main line. The Duke’s eyes bugged out to behold the mad rush. “What in blue blazes is going on in here!? Naltia please explain to me why you have a bloomin’ ARMY behind you!” he exclaimed. The girl caught her breath, and slowly trudged over to her father to explain what was going on. “Listen daddy, Mirren and everyone else here was going to the old castle to find the two swords. They got rid of that group of monsters and rid the forest of them. I noticed them before and managed to get to the castle to stop Mirren from blowing up the wall to find the swords just in time. They wanna know where the swords are now…and I know you’re one of the few who know” the girl elucidated. Naltia’s father gave a slightly stern look as he glanced at Mirren, she smiled nervously. “So, this is that friend of yours who’ve you told me about…” he began. Oddly, Mirren and Naltia’s father had never met. While Mirren and Naltia had been friends since they were eleven upon a meeting at the one market with a bunch of other friends they knew, they only spent time with each other on monthly occasions or so, and only Naltia had had the chance to meet Link, Zelda and Mirren’s other friends. “Why do you wish to know where they are?” the Duke question aloud. Mirren, even while rather edgy, was about to speak before Link began, but only to be interrupted by Impa instead. “Your majesty, Mirren is the little brother of Link, and the friend of Princess Zelda from Hyrule Castle, and I am Impa, Zelda’s close personal nursemaid. When all of us found out that the monsters who attacked Terlon Forest had hidden out in the ancient castle, I explained that the two legendary swords were also in there, and if discovered by the monsters could be used for terrible reasons. All we wish to know is where they are, and as friends of the King and part of the Hyrule Royal Council, you can most certainly trust us, especially Princess Zelda herself.” The room fell silent, and everyone seemed to be a bit tense as the Duke still gazed at Mirren and the others with a strict expression. Soon though, a smile widened across his face, and he chuckled. “Bah, no worries at all” he replied, “due forgive my harshness, I was merely a bit questionable of this odd arrival by you all. Allow me to tell you now of the swords. A little while ago, it had become clear to me that the ancient castle on the lake was becoming nothing more than a dwelling and hideout for cutthroats, highwaymen, bandits, thieves and all those such. Well, I figured that it’d be rather risky to keep them in there and take the chance of having them found, so I had I and a bunch of my men go in, take the swords and hide them away in a shrine cut out of rock nearby inside of a hill.” Instantly everyone’s faces lit up. Zelda smiled more than anyone. “Well thank goodness for that! Now they’re safe as can be! No one will be able to get them, and we won’t need to go and take them back to the castle either!” The new Link smirked. “And now we don’t gotta watch over them for eternity or something” he spoke, and then laughed. Impa sighed with relief as everyone else rejoiced. “Phew, now I don’t need to worry about them anymore…” she whispered. As everyone seemed to celebrate, Mirren kind of had a stony, irritated expression on his face. “Great, now I don’t get to use one of them awesome swords…” the child muttered under his breath. Even while what he said was in a quite tone, the new Zelda heard him, and smiled as she wrapped her arms about him from behind and pulled him close. “Don’t worry, you’ll get to use it one day probably…” the young woman reassured. At first the boy’s eyes somewhat widened from the slight embrace by Zelda, but soon her looked up at her and smiled. “Really?” he asked. The princess of Hyrule merely nodded as she still smiled at Mirren. The boy simply smiled back again. As that transpired, Naltia caught sight of it all; and as she watched on could only grin. * * * * * Only a little while later, everyone geared up and got ready to leave. Darunia, Ralon and the Gorons were the first to leave, and then Nabooru and the Gerudos also left. Mirren and the others stayed for a little bit longer, but overall only about an hour and a half. As twilight soon began to come, they too got ready to leave, even if Naltia and Mirren felt different. As all of them stood outside ready to leave, the two young teens chatted for a few more moments. “Are you sure you don’t wanna stay the night or something?” Naltia asked. Mirren shook his head. “Nah, we wouldn’t wanna be a burden. Besides, Zelda has dinner made and we don’t wanna waste it. They all have things to do tonight anyways and…” he began before the girl interrupted him as her face slightly lit up. “Would you wanna just stay then?!” she slightly exclaimed. The boy stared at her for a second, no real expression but slight worry on his face. Naltia’s beaming died away. “As I was just about to say…I too am busy tonight” Mirren explained, “I’m helping to plant flowers around the castle, and I wanna spend some time in the archives tonight…” Naltia gave a slightly sigh, and she looked away in disappointment. Mirren smiled though. “But don’t worry, I’ll be back. I promise. In a couple days if you want me to come over- I will” The girl looked back at him, but oddly not happy or excited. “Really?” Naltia inquired. Mirren’s smile widened. “Really” Naltia’s face then lit up, and she nodded back. The two shared a moment of just smiling at each other, and then Mirren gestured over to Gorida. “Well I better get going now, I don’t wanna miss dinner, or hold the others up.” Naltia smiled and nodded. Mirren then went over to Gorida and made his way up onto the massive monster. Once the boy was ready, he looked back at Naltia. “Later!” he called out to her. She waved back. “Bye Mirren!” she cried out back to him. With that Gorida then began to dash off, and Link and all the others followed behind them on their horses. Zelda rode next to Link, and smiled. “That’s so nice. Ya know Mirren and Naltia remind me of another two…” she stated. The new Link smirked and glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. “I take it you and me?” he questioned. The new Zelda looked at him and smiled. “Who else?” Instead of smirking, the descendant of the Hero of Time now smiled, and looked straight at the princess of Hyrule. “You’re right…” And at that moment, just as Mirren and Naltia did, the two shared a moment of just smiling at each other |

Re: Descendants of Destiny
I liked the ending
Nice job as always; the only thing I noticed was that you used the word 'the' a lot to begin your sentences in long paragraphs, like the one dedicated to Ralon. Try to vary your sentence structure a bit more to enhance the reading experience. Other than that, all I have to say is...keep up the good work! - *I'm slacking on Chapter Two of mine * -

Re: Descendants of Destiny
I used "the" too much? *reads paragraph on Ralon* You talkin' about the fight scene? Anyways, here's a new chapter!! Chapter 10: A day at Lake Hylia Link walked down the hallways of Hyrule Castle with a bit of a smile on his face. Since the second he woke up this morning, he could smell something delicious cooking in the feast hall. He knew that Saldia was making another of her great breakfasts, and that it was something that would taste as good as it smelled. The descendant of the Hero of Time came to the doors of the feast hall, and pushed them open as he stepped inside. The scent of fresh oatmeal lingered all about the air, and Link noticed Zelda sitting across the one table talking to Mirren as the boy ate a bowl of the oatmeal. “How in God’s name do you always manage to get down here before me Mirren!?” he yelled. Zelda and the child both turned their attention to Link, and Zelda laughed. “I don’t know, I guess I can just get up earlier than you always!” Mirren explained. Link narrowed his eyes as he started walking over to the table muttering something. “Bah! Whatever, Zelda can I have some oatmeal?” he asked. The young woman smiled and nodded. “Sure Link” she answered, and with that got up and went over to the kitchens. The descendant of the Hero of Time sat down next to Mirren and stared at the boy as he continually ate spoonfuls of the steaming, great smelling oatmeal. “Well, how is it?” Link asked. The child looked up at his big brother. “Awesome” he answered. Link smiled. “What kind is it?” Mirren looked back down at it. “I think it’s apple and cinnamon, but I’m not sure…but whatever it is it tastes just plain delicious! And the cinnamon makes it even better!” the boy exclaimed, and then grabbed the small bottle of cinnamon and sprinkled some more on the golden brown oatmeal. Link managed to get a chuckle from his little brother, and then noticed as Zelda came back to the table with a steaming bowl of the oatmeal. “Here Link, hope ya like it” she said as she set it down before him. The young man’s eyes lit up. “Well if it’s as good as Mirren says then I’ll love it!” he replied. Zelda smiled, and then sat down across from the two brothers. Link grabbed the small bottle of honey on the table and then poured some into his oatmeal. After stirring it around for a few seconds then, he took a spoonful of it and instantly his faced beamed. “Dang that stuff’s amazing!” Zelda laughed. “Then I’m sure you’ll like what I’m cooking tonight, though it might take a bit…” she began before Link interrupted her. “And why’s that?” he inquired, and took another spo |
