Also, big ups to EL for runner's up--lolzy comic, hun. I've never seen you do anime-type artz before. It worked out really well. Great job.

Thanks Liah! Yup, I used coloured Derwent pencils.


For next month's theme...will it still be decided in the same way as the other months? I was just thinking that one of the themes Liah suggested last month, Magic, might be a good one...what does everyone else think?

I would like to say that I whole-heartedly approve of this month's winning art piece, which is very, very glorious, and everyone should strive to make art just like that. :>>>>

Ego aside, I would've voted for it even if I wasn't the subject of it to be honest, because it's quite simply a very beautiful and well done piccy. Out of curiosity, did you use any image you based it on, and if so, what image?

Also I really liked the Cody Comic, very well done and funny, and all the other entries were good too. :>

Cheers! Yep I used a reference piccy for the sturgeon, this one (more for the body patterns than anything else, since the face and body shape of sturgeons seems to vary - the sturgeon's head just looked too small to me in the reference picture, for instance, so it's bigger in the drawing). There was one problem with it though (and I actually only found this out after I'd already submitted the drawing)...the reference has actually had the sturgeon's whiskers cut off...so then I went and forgot to add them in the drawing as well, even though I've seen other pictures with the whiskers included! D: I felt so silly when I realized, but it was too late to resubmit the drawing by then.

I'd be really honoured if you made a sig out of the drawing! <3 I've actually since updated it though to include those pesky whiskers - it's only a minor change, but would you rather use the altered version for the sig? If so I'll take a photo of the new picture and upload it for you.
