May Monthly Contest!

And heeerrees the next contest, up and running. Though it was almost a day late because of stupid assignments. D:

Welcome to the May Monthly Contest! This month's contest theme is brought to you by the winner of the last contest: Eternal Legend. The theme is: Love. Whoot whoo! This means any type of thing that includes love from your typical lovey dovey couple, to love between family. Just keep it PG 13 or below. ;D

The contest will start on the: 7th of May and will end on the 21st of May (Thats my Birthday. ), any entrys posted before or after that date will be ignored.

Also, all entrys will be pmed to me and/or Mr Spork, so we can put them in the results thread anonymously, anyone who posts their work in the thread wont be allowed to participate in this contest.

Again, this will be voting between people, as we can see how well it worked last time. Just vote for your favourite artwork, then the one you think should come second. Possibly if we get over ten Artworks we might get a third position as well.

For those interested in writing don't be dismayed that this is another Artsy Contest! In a week's time expect to see a Writing Contest just for you people.

Hmmm... I think it would be more fair if everyone started from scratch in this competition.

Because there will be those that don't have anything to submit, and so they need to make an artwork from scratch. So I think it's fairer and better if everyone started a new picture from a white sheet of paper/digital paint canvas etc for this competition alone.

There's no rule that says we can't use something already made, though, unless Holly says so.

Still, if she does, then I have an alternative idea.

Fantastic theme. I've already started on something ^^. As for old work--I would agree with EL on this, honestly, and I also happen to do some behind-the-scenes work with Holly for the Arty Forums so I'll be talking with my homegirl about this, too.

Well, if Holly makes that a rule, then it'll be a rule.

I might change my idea to what I had for an alternative anyway, just cause.

First, though, I have to get something started for my boyfriend. x3

Yeah, what Eternal Legend and the UNDERTAKER, () says is true. No one is supposed to know who's who in the contest, as you can see in the last contest, even though it can be obvious who drew a certain picture. (Eg: My picture in the last contest, everyone knew what my entry was. D: ).

Just go by your alternate idea, Ranny, and you'll do just fine. :3

Well, I was speaking to Holly through msn about your post and she gave me authorisation to say what I had to say about the submission rule since she forgot to put it down.

And like The Undertaker, I also like to help out with the art contest in the behind-the-scene business.

If you really think about it, submitting an old work for this is not fair for those who don't have a piece to submit on time.

It's fair that everyone sheds the same sweat, blood and tears for this contest.

I've started mine and so far I'm close to halfway finished.

I probably won't finish until near the deadline though, because I've got exams to study for and a bad grade to bring up. >_<

I was going to start mine... but now my mom says I am not allowed to. She wants me to draw from real life and work on a self-portrait. *groan* Maybe if I am sneaky... (oh for the days she didn't care about my drawings.... but back then I wasn't much good.)

... pretty much. I told her I was going to draw a *coughcough* and she said no I wasn't. I was going draw from real life and do a self-portrait.

Question, are you allowed to draw from a reference picture?

you could always make your self portrait have something to do with love, and use it as your entry.
Like a pic of you writing a love note, or gazing out a window thinking of soeone, or something like that.
