April Monthly Contest!

Alright, we are trying this again, with new rules, kay? Good. Welcome to the April Art Contest, everyone! This time this contest doesn't have judges, has an actual starting and ending date, and it will (hopefully) be more organized!

Well to follow up last month's theme, I decided to make it: Heroes!.

The contest will start on the: 7th of April and will end on the 21st of April (aka: Two weeks from the 7th, just in case my horrid maths is wrong), any entrys posted before or after that date will be ignored.

Also, all entrys will be pmed to me and/or Mr Spork, so we can put them in the results thread anonymously, anyone who posts their work in the thread wont be allowed to participate in this contest.

Oh and this month this is only Artworks, sorry people who wanted to write in this but I'm thinking of having seperate contests for both fields. :3

If anyone has questions, comments, criticisms please post, or PM me about it. Please enjoy.

Edit: I forgot to say: Instead of judges, this is voted by everyone, similar to what Signature of the Week does. I think. (People just say which one they like best, right? o-o'')

Heroes in general or heroes the TV series?

I would guess it's open to interpretation, SP! (though I can tooootally see you doing the series if your sigs gave away your love for the show )

Sugarpoultry, you're the second person to ask me that. Its in general but you can do the TV Show Heroes.

I'm trying to decide if I should do digital, or do traditional. >_>

Well, do what you're most comfortable and skilled in I would say.

I can't do digital art to save my life, so traditional art for me, always. :3

As for traditional or digital art, I'm both and am not sure which I do better. XD

There should be a rule to disallow direct tracings and recolouring Holly.

Because, that would be unfair to people who draw from originality and imagination alone.

^Oh yes, I agree. I think there should be a rule like that too because it could also be considered plagiarizing.

Good point. How about a ban from the contest for that month if they just traced and/or recoloured? Then if they do it again, I'll just double the length of the ban.

Alright people, you're allowed to PM me and/or Mr Spork your entrys now. Yes, I know for half of you its still the 6th but it isn't for me and that's all that counts.

I was unaware we needed to post in this thread to let it be known we'd be competiting, but yes, I'll be competiting in this competition. Saw it early on.

Oh you don't have to post in this thread, but I guess its a good idea to know how many people to expect sending entrys to me and Spork, I suppose. :3

Yes...

And if anyone makes any infringements... Tsk tsk tsk... I will know...

But also, there is a difference between using a 'reference' and 'tracing' over the existing artwork.

But whatever the case, I will catch which one is not allowed to participate in the art contest.
