November Writing Contest.

Hello everyone and welcome to another late contest! Sorry about that, blame school and even more tests coming up (when will they end? ;-; ) but here it is.

This time as you can see, by the title, it is a writing contest, instead of an Art one, like we all agreed on, (Check the last month's results for details) but if I have the time, next month there will be both an Art AND a Writing contest going on at the same time. :>

This month's contest is about a ZU memory, which was originally going to be just about the election but that was over too quick, so instead we have this. Yay.

It can be set anywhere, so it could be a fantasy world, in the distant future, a city called ZU or just the normal ZU forum but it MUST be based on a ZU memory. I recomend keeping the word count between 1000-10000 words if you can because the judge is reading it all, but it doesnt really matter if you go over/under the that.

Speaking of judges, he is Cody, the new webmaster. (yes only one this time. :3)

The date the contest starts is right now, and it ends when the month is up. So you have a few weeks to write something up.

Also: If you are in a clan, check out the contests Shikaino/Cambria is organising in the Arena there. This applies to all types of artists and writers. It will very appreciated if you do. :3

Holly can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's just a memory of something that happened on ZU. It can be when you joined, drama, April Fool's, a good time you had here, etc.

The Final Chronicle of Discussion, Troll-Man of Old

Part the First

The guns roared, and Discussion ran into the fray.
The bullets of Tyranny and ZU-biasness ripped the very clothes of his back.
Needing a weapon, he ripped the spine out of a dead man named Erotica, and used it as a makeshift sword. He ran through the battlefield, felling even the mightiest of trolls. He deflected a ban-rocket as if it were a ball ricocheting of a rock. Discussion saw a trench of of hopelessness on the ground, and made a leap of faith.a
He dropped his sword as he flew ofver the pit. Time slowed down. The great Troll-Man saw under him the bones of The Banned. He roared, and just as he nearly fell into the abyssal rift to the inferno, he swung his arms up, and they caught onto the ledge. He had made it to the other side. As he pulled himself up, his fingernails cracked and fell off. A small price to pay for his not-bannedness.
As he looked up, he saw his mortal adversary above him. Zaius.

Part the Second

Both troll-men took out their FLAME-throwers, and tried to defeat the other. As Discussion was low on fuel, he jabbed the end of the FLAME-thrower into Zaius' mouth, and then all hell ripped loose. Zaius's head was blown sky high. Discussion roared, And grabbed the dismembered and lifeless body, throwing it into the deep gash in the earth.
The sound of a silent gun rang in the distance. Discussion fell. Atop a ruined building, the Dark Lord Jason crouched with a sniper Bias-Rifle. Hundreds of Mod-devils and Administrator-demons jumped onto the Hero, deluging him with Bias-Bullets of ZU tyranny. The Dark Lord Jason spread his black wings and flew above Discussion. He pointed his small and cruel Ban-Rocket launcher at the Hero's chest, and the Troll-man was blown to pieces. Gibs flew everywhere, burning like acid into the Mod-devils they landed on. Then, an unseen force from the Pit of the Banned sucked the remains into the hole. Thus ended the life and times of poor, poor Discussion.

Conclusion

Crawling out was the burned and mangled body of the undead Zaius, back into life, with unfound strength.
There could only be one Troll-man.
And, like the most horrid nightmare of everyone who ever glanced at the front page of Zelda Universe, that Troll-man was Zaius.

Here endeth the final chronicle of Discussion, the fabled Troll-Man of old.
The beast is dead but the spirit must live. Do not forget Discussion!
He shall retunr whence ZU needs him!
Hail discussion!

This is a pretty bad topic for me. I like writing about feelings/nature. Only things I'm skilled at writing about. I will give it a shot. But don't expect anything very well-written. I'm just hoping other people suck.

Here it is, took me probably....five minutes. PLEASE TELL ME IF IT DOESN'T COUNT. Like I said, it's a bad subject for me, and it was very difficult to remain relevant to ZU. It's pretty poorly written, although in my defense, I wrote it up quickly on the count of I have homework and I'm going to my dad's tomorrow. I know I know, excuses excuses.

UNTITLED

'Twas a long, silent, but still night. I sat, ignorant of the concealed beauty mere inches from me. Ignorant of the tantalizing mixture of foggy blackness, and packed white. Although, I was in the spirit of Christmas, as always, for it's the absolute essence of nostalgia. I sat, still, speaking to faceless people whom couldn't give a damn whether I was there or not. A subject came up amongst us, one somewhat related to the season. Someone mentioned a graphics contest between the clans, the subject: Christmas. I couldn't wait to see everyone's artistic view on the season, although admittedly biased toward my clan, I couldn't help but side with them, whether they rightfully deserved it or not. Finally, people were finished. Still absent-minded about the beauty that lie before me, I glared at these synthesized versions of true beauty. As if I was nothing but a mere automaton. After all was said and done, as previously mentioned, I blindly ranted about how our clan won, even though we didn't rightfully deserve the victory. And although we didn't win, my description of them altogether was concise: beautiful. My views were oblique, as I sat in pure ignorance, I missed true beauty.

Forte you have a whole month to do it you know? So if you want you can go back and rewrite if you think its poorly written. :3

Because I am not a judge this time, I think I might enter myself, depends if I time or not. :3

You should totally do it, Holly. I'd like to know what ZU memory you'd choose :3

Not quite sure, I am thinking the whole deal with Asia and the chocolate thing at the moment.

So what are we actually meant to do for submitting it? Post it here, PM it, a differente thread near the end date...?

A month? I'll consider it, although it's very hard for me to think of a memory to write about. That alone would take up most of the month. I'll leave it up, if I do rewrite it, I'll post the new one, if I don't, then judge that one I guess. (I do know that you're not the judge.)

Yeah I was quite surprised when I couldnt think of a good memory I could write about. There is a lot I could write about but they would be either too long or short, though I think I found a good one now. :3

I already have an idea of what I want to do. It might irritate some of the jellyfish, though.

The Bold, Unfaltering Writer

There once was a writer who came from nowhere to ZU. He proudly presented his best works and ideas. Despite the several stonings and insults. He asked for help, and he recieved it...however bluntly. Because of these shortcomings he's practicing a new art along with his old. Now as we speak... he perfects his craft in private. Biding time, mastering his skill...waiting to devour his crude, cruel superiors with his new tallent. But for now he stands firm. Firm as Link doea while confronting the many evils of Hyrule. What has this unsung writer prepared that requires such an awkward analogy? As always time is the only true way to tell.

Haha I don't know how creepy it really is. But it certainly SOUNDS kinda creepy to me at least.(Considering the only tv villain that creeps me out is Orochimaru. That's saying something) But hey that's my entry for this month. I may post another poem later but I don't know. How many entries are allowed?

The more people dislike your works, the more you learn to like it, yourself. And that's all that matters. It doesn't matter what others think. I just don't see why your entry would be based on how others don't like your works, which you defend.

Yeah that sounds right. You can edit your story or delete and make a new one, but cant have more then one.
