ZUCWR the Third's Winner!
Dear Participants,
I humbly apologize for this late reply to all your wonderful entries. There should be no excuse for such tardiness when all of you await eagerly for news upon who will be crowned the winner of this contest. Therefore, without further ado, I pronounce the winner of the Third ZUCWR Contest to be....
Let this be yet another among numerous marks, added to his Ego. His writing carried that balance of description and emotion, the characters becoming more real as their thoughts unfurled before us. There was no needless clutter - it was a beautiful touching story. Plus he managed to fit Ectoplasm in - though I must say I was disappointed it wasn't in the story itself. Let us not forget our second place winner. Indeed, we do have a second place - in keeping with the traditions upheld by our First and Second ZUCWR.
Here was yet another emotional story, that of the parting of Link and Saria. The normally stoic young hero everyone sees is peeled away to reveal that vulnerable child within, one who is hurt by cruel taunts and the hope of affection from one admired. Trully, that is the strong point of this story - to feel those inner hopes and dreams pushed aside for the sake of duty. There can be no First and Second place without also having a Third, and this place is reserved for none other than:
This was an intriguing piece - written quite differently from the other entries. True, it did have points in emotion as well, but of a different kind. Here, the Hero of Time is not a man who blindly rushes forth to face danger. You can feel his fear, know his uncertainty and then the inevitable will to stand strong against what he knows is an impossible confrontation. You might think this is all - but I will add one more name to this fine list. All these names you see above are fine writers - indeed, they are all (or have been) a major part of the writing area that is hidden within the Amphitheater - bar one.
You have bravely taken part in this contest, knowing full well you went against renown writers who excel in this field. Your story showed us that other side of Link, the one that is wondered at but never really given thought to. Perhaps when we play, we forget that he is yet a young boy, you showed us his uncertainty and a glimpse at the memories that drive him onwards to do his best without fail.

Re: ZUCWR the Third's Winner!
Let this be a lesson to all who dare challenge Power Shot! For some inexplicible reason, he can write romance!

Re: ZUCWR the Third's Winner!
Congrats to Power Shot! And to LEA and Master Shade. Also, I personally thought Tiroth's entry was very good, and I was surprised he didn't place.
And thanks for mentioning my name; you didn't have to. I don't usually write a lot, but Link's Awakening is one of my favorite games, and I had a lot of fun writing about it and being in this competition. Kudos to all. |

Re: ZUCWR the Third's Winner!
Congratulations, Power Shot. I guess I'll have to try harder next time.
And Shady-Shade, you already know that it's always a pleasure to write with or against you. :3 *ruffles your hair* |
