Gonzo's Official Subs (Druaga and Blassreiter)

Well, I dunno how y'all feel about Gonzo. (They're kinda hit or miss, I think.) but they've been doing their own subtitles for English speakers for their two new shows, The Tower of Druaga and Blassreiter. They don't even have to split them up into 2 or 3 parts for Youtube, either. New Episodes debut as the shows air. Now, even though you may not like Gonzo, doing official subs is something I'd like other companies and studios to get into, so it might be a good idea to support them.

They're only about 5 episodes or so in, so I hope some of you take a look. Clicking on the names will bring up their channels.

Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk is a comedy/fantasy series set in the world of the old school arcade game Tower of Druaga by Namco. I think it does a decent job at setting up an interesting world and some pretty likable characters based on the game, but it takes a lot of liberties. Sometimes it's a little cliché and the fight choreography is nothing to write home about but it can be a pretty funny show.

Most of the episodes have character based comedy in them, so if that's not your thing, at least watch episodes 1 and 5. Lots of parodies in those. I mean, the final attack in Ep. 1 includes the main character transforming into some sort of Gurren Lagann/Gundam/Evangelion thing and lobbing all the NPCs and characters at the final boss.

And the mage casts spells by playing golf. What's not to like?

Blassreiter is funny, too, but in an unintentional sort of way. The concept looked very interesting; I guess it might turn out ok...It's like, a motorcycle racer becomes injured and may never race again but he chooses to take some dodgy medicine that transforms him into this interesting sort of being and gives him the ability to walk and race again. Unfortunately the pill's side effects include going crazy and maybe even death.

Anyway, the Demon-like beings are interesting and look very nice, but man, does this show ever take huge leaps in logic. >_< The first 5 minutes or so in the first episode are a dream, so if it's not making any sense to you, that's why.

Blassreiter means "Pale Rider", I think. Pretty neat name.
