What show got YOU into anime?

The title basically says it all, what was that one anime that got you hooked on it? Was it a classic like Pokeman? Something violent like Blood+? Or something a bit more "mature" like GITS?

For me it was Digimon (the very first one, not the lastest ones). There was something about it that seemed just a bit more..."mature/serious" than regular American cartoons. I know it was aimed towards kiddies, but if you compared it with some of the other cartoons that were airing at the time, it was considered a bit more "mature".

Oh, it was for sure the classics.

Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Samurai Pizza Cats (Is that even an anime, btw?).

I loved the first and second season of Digimon. After that though, I just lost interest. I wanna find some of the old shows to watch, but I can't.

The same goes for Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z as well. After awhile, the storyline started to fail.

Van, but yeah.

Well, actually, no. Van was a major character, but the main character was Hitomi. (I have the box set, so I have a reason for knowing these things.)

It wasn't a show that got me into anime, it was a movie. The first anime I was was Tottoro. However after watching that (a few years later) I then got into Pokemon (from a friend), Digimon (another friend), Dragonball (my cousin), and then Tenchi Muyo. Granted back then they didn't have many options, so I just watched whatever Cartoon Network or ABC Family had at the time.

That's kind of a tough question for me. Was it Pokemon? Dragonball Z? Or something else on Cartoon Network? Was Batman anime? I'm not sure where Batman came from, but I was big into him as a kid.

Back then I didn't really know the difference. I called them all cartoons, and didn't realise some of the shows I watched were made in Japan. Though there were some indications, like with Gundam and a few others.

Well i think it started with Pokemon/Digimon. The first couple seasons of Digimon were cool as with Pokemon. But after awhile they just became boring and repetitive.

Then I began watching Dragon Ball, then Dragon Ball Z. But after the whole thing with the Pink dude, I lost interest in the series. Dragon Ball I only lost interest when I no longer able to watch it.

Then it went to Inuyasha, not the best of shows but at first I thought it was cool. Then I began watching Trigun, which was a really cool show.

So its kind of a mixture of all that that got me interested in Anime/Manga.

The first anime I was ever obsessed with was Yu-Gi-Oh!. But after a while I realized it sucked ass, so I stopped watching it.

The second anime I ever watched all the way through was Inuyasha, and I don't particularly know why because I hated the show. Afterwards, I loathed anime with a passion.

But then, a light shown down on me in the anime world as I discovered Fullmetal Alchemist. This show got me started on more "adult" animes such as Blood+ and Death Note. FMA is still one of my favorite shows.

Hmm, It must have been a combination of animes from when I was younger, DBZ, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Digimon. I used to watch those all the time when I was younger.

Then after a while, I pretty much stopped watching anime for a while, and what really got me into anime was Rouroni Kenshin and Gundam Wing, about 5-6 years ago. and I've been watching anime ever since, though I haven't completed many shows, and thanks to the Internet, I can just about watch everything, instead of just what Cartoon Network is/was showing.

Well I was four or five and the anime are Pokemon and Sailor Moon. When I became six or seven then I started to watch Tenchi Muyo: In Tokyo. I guess those are the three that really got me into anime.

I still cannot believe I liked Sailor Moon. That show is just plain weird. So is Bobobo, but I like that.
