Death Note Live Action Film

Basicly, It's a prequal to Death Note, focusing on L traveling to America to solve crimes. It'll be released in 2008 if on scheduel. L in the trailers looks pretty cool .

I will also make a note that two other Death Note films were released a few years ago, both being live action.

Not that any of this effects any of you, seeing as how it's a Japanese film, but it's always good to be in the know .

Apart from some instances of mediocre acting, I liked the live action movies a LOT better. Lack of Part 2 bullsh-t and a better ending. Looking forward to this L prequel.

Will the plot be dealing with the case in which L and that chick-that-worked-under-L-that-he-forgot-who-she-was-and-she-comes-from-the-FBI-and-was-married-to-the-first-FBI-agent-that-Kira-killed worked together in?

I read somewhere that a movie focusing on the last 23 days of L's life was being made or something. But i suppose i was mistaken.

I actualy hated the Live Action Movies ending.

1) because it went against the rules of the Death Note... Although I suppose that might just be in the anime rather then the Manga. In the Anime, it says on one of those parts where it explains the Death Note, that one can not write his or her own name in it. Cant remember what episode, but i know i saw it!

2) because now L can neither go to Heaven nor Hell. After all those who use a Death Note will cease to exist after dying. Something L does not deserve.

I guess thats the only part I dislike about the ending. The rest of it was entertaining. The acting at times was pretty bad, but was still good.

The Death Note says you cannot kill someone who has the same name as you but I don't think it says you can't kill youself.

I'm confused o_o....When you say two live action movies are you referring to the movie that would've been a really long movie but they split it up into two parts? Also was that the death note in the trailer posted....cause...

The first live action film was Death Note. The second was Death Note: the Last Name.

The second film picks up where the first left off.

Paradox? Maybe...

My understanding of the two Live action movies was that they were two different films released on different dates, but I believe in the same year. The second one picks up right after the first leaves off, so basicly it is just one long movie.

As for the second movie its not before Kira, it takes place right after it.

At the end of the second movie, L has about 23 days to live. At the end of the movie you see him die. This movie 'L to change the World' as its being called is what his life is like after the Kira Case.

There is a book about L before the Kira case, something about him solving a crime in Los Angelas. Think it was the one with Ray Penbar's fiance. I know she mentions working under L then.

I still hate the ending of the thing... it means L is going to go to nothingness when he dies

Oh I was also mistaken about the whole suicide thing, I could not find it. But I did find out that you can not shorten your own life using the Death Note...


So yea... no need for paradoxs.
