I was looking for new anime to watch on Anime6, and I went to Basilisk. Apparently 20 ninja (10 from each of two clans) are supposed to come to some kind of tournament to fight and rule the land for 1000 years of peace. Something like that. Two scrolls are sent out to each clan, but one clan gets both. There's been a peace treaty, but the scrolls nullify that. Now one clan is killing off the other, while the other clan thinks the treaty is still in effect.

I liked the beginning (sp?) better, but by episode seven (where I'm at), six members of the lists of ten have been killed. There are 24 episodes on anime6, and I don't know if there even will be a tournament. I don't like where this show is heading, but I'm watching anyway.

Edit: In episode 10 the big guy says all is going as planned, so I guess there wasn't meant to be a grand tournament. With at least one ninja dying per episode, I wouldn't be surprised if everything ended in 24 episodes.

Actually it is a quite ok anime. Sure it is not the best I've seen, but it does its action and story quite well. Sometimes it is a bit on the gory side and some episodes are not too good. I still recommend it.

I don't know what it's rated for, but there's violence and partial nudity. It gets bloody at points, and some peopl get decapitated.

A few episodes happen at night, and are too dark for me to even see what's going on. I did watch the whole thing through, though. At least one person dies per episode, except that the first episode is a prologue that happens 400 years earlier or something. There's a filler episode that has people in it that have already died, one recap that happens in episode 10, and one episode where there's no fighting. That's why it spans 24 episodes instead of 20.
