Mobile Suit Gundam 00

So the first episode aired a few hours ago in Japan. A raw is out, but I think I'll wait for a subtitled version. I'm personally excited, though I'm scared it'll be like Wing or SEED, both of which I thought completely blew.

Anyone else looking forward to it?

Oh, and:

For what I've heard so far the story first episodes follows similarly to the begining of Gundam Wing what with the pilots going around seperatly destroying military bases.

Either way I'm just hoping this turns out better than the crap fest known as SEED. I'll watch it though and hope for the best.

BLASPHEMY SLIME!! You will burn in the fires of your religions Hell for such an insult to the glorious anime that is Gundam Wing!!

I may check it out some other time though. I loved Gundam Wing, but thats just because Im different like that. Once it becomes translated (If it does) I will check it out. For now it is off my "Totally must see list".

Oh and Slime, Im just messin around with ya! Not too many people like Gundam Wing because it is too hard to understand, and because its animation is kind of old. (Endless Waltz is still the most Kickass anime of all time though, but once again, you would have to have an eye for that kind of thing)

I hope they make models of the gundams! I love putting together and collecting Gundam Models!

Actually I'm with Slime that Wing wasn't all that good for a few reasons. For starters Milliardo is the biggest Char clone to ever grace a Gundam series, the characters are pretty flat, and the Gundams were pretty much unstoppable which didn't leave for much excitment in battles.

This only goes to show that we are all different in our opinions. The main reason I love Gundam Wing is not only because I believe Heero pwns all, but becuase I have a history with it. It makes me feel nostalgic of a time where I enjoyed life, rather then questioning it.

Gundam Wing had several life lessons to teach, if you watched all 49 episodes and Endless Waltz. Im not going to bore you with the details, but I have learned a great deal from watching it. As I said before though, you would have to have an eye for this sort of thing.

I will say this though; The Gundams being unstoppable is a representation of war. Two sides that can not be destroyed, insist on battling one another, and since neither side can be destroyed, the only thing you are doing is causing senseless pain to those who are forced into the war. (I.E. Civilians etc.)

In the words of Treize Kushrenada:

"A War without chivalry only gives way to massacre"

But whatever. Arguing over each others opinion is much like two tape recorders arguing. Both sides will just talk without listening.

If your looking for a Gundam series that conveys that ype of message there are better ones than Wing to do that. Give 0080 or Zeta Gundam a try. Both of those really show how war effects the lives of the civilians that all sides of the conflict claim to be protecting.
