And it's much better, love all of the voices, great work by FUNi yet again. English opening and ending fit the spirit of One Piece so much more, also.

Edit: I just realized I made a mistake, can a mod change the title so the word "New" is before One Piece?

I was gonna post something like this, but it looks like you beat me to it. I saw the dub last night, On a scale of 1 to 10 id give it at least an 8. Only and 8, beacuse its the first episode, and I havent seen a fight scene, but they did keep all the original music, and I laughed, the 4kids dub episodes werent funny at all, they tried too hard. All in all, I liked it, I knew I would I am very grateful to Funimation for saving a great show.

I actually spoke to Colleen (Luffy's VA) at AWA this past weekend about the new dub. She was actually very excited about doing and couldn't wait for it to premire on TV. I saw the first episode at AWA in one of the video rooms and I do think they did a much better job.

The show is better. I liked the 4kids dubs better though. (so sue me) I think the only voice FUNimation did better was Luffy.

I've seen the 1st FUNimation episode about 10 times now, and I am LOVING it. The characters are much better suited to their voices than the 4Kids Entertainment VAs.

"He was giving us a photo-op?" and "I'm surrounded by DEATTHHHHH" were my memorable lines, not to mention most of Masira's stuff :>

All in all, very good work FUNi, you've made this One Piece fan VERY happy, consider those DVD sets bought!

Review from the One Piece fanboy! (if it doesn't even matter)

Opening/Ending:
Okay, I almost wanted to squeal like a girl when I saw the words "One Piece" fly across the tv screen. At first, I was depressed when I heard that it wasn't the original "Hikari E", but then I noticed that the english lyrics resembled the japanese lyrics. So good marks there for the opening.

Now, the ending is next. There is not much to say, but this is one of the greatest english-dub anime endings. I did feel like it was rushed, but I still enjoyed it.

Voices:
Luffy: Major improvement, but the voice still worries me (probably because I watched to many of the Japanese episodes). If the voice troubles anyone else, just continue to watch it acouple more times.
Zoro: This was the only voice I liked from 4kids. :X Though it's a new voice, I have no troubles against it.
Nami: The 4kids and the Funimation voice for Nami are pretty much the same, so I again have nothing wrong with this voice.
Usopp: This voice isn't so...weird (only word that I could think of). One thing to mention is that Usopp finally went through puberty! I think some people will understand that.
Sanji: Do I even have to say anything about how good the voice is?
Chopper: This voice will take awhile to get used to, but at lease his voice doesn't change when he transforms.
Robin: Come'on yo'all, this new voice is great. The new voice has some resemblence to the japanese voice.
Everything/everyone else: Good

Extras: It makes me so happy to here the famous, "DOOM". Not only that, but adding the "TO BE CONTINUED" and the preview music is also a good touch.

Voices: I'm going to give this a 8.5/10, but this was from first site. Later on, everyone will adjust to the new voices.
Background music: Giving a 10/10 for the priview music and also the media background music.
Editing: 9.5/10, The episode was almost exactly like the original, there's just a few misses that bothered me though.
Opening: 9.5/10, Great translation, vocals, and pretty much everything else.
Ending: 9.5/10, I just thought it was rushed.
Overall: One Piece from Funimation is getting a 9.5 for it's quick recovery, great voices, music, and editing. This is a show that you should not ignore and you should give it some time to grow on you.

I actually found the Sanji voice to be a little too monotone. Besides I liked making fun of the jersey accent.

Yes, it is impossible to not like a certain characteristic of something (I liked to make fun of it also). On Sanji's voice, he did not show much emotion in the episode, so Eric Vale didn't have to do much for this episode.

HOLY CRAP! Troy Baker is going to do the voice of Enel! I think is voice will be great for Enel. Who is Troy Baker? He does the voice of Abel in Trinity Blood I believe.

I agree with you. Alvida and Buggy's voices sound alot better, and sadly, I can't remember if Ace's voice was good or not.
