I don't believe it. This rumor has been going around since Dragonball Z first got popular in American.

You better, it's literally official now either you like it or not. It comes from a trustworthy source compared to past ones (although I do know that a DBZ movie has been in planning for years). It's finally gonna wrap up into a summer movie. Hopefully it'll pull a Transformers on us and be good. But due to the over-the-top style of DBZ, it has more of a chance to be a big bomb.

Too true that this is indeed very old and has been around for years, but there's finally an official announcement on something about it, so it counts for something. Now it's 100% that a DBZ movie is indeed gonna be released unless Fox decides to drop the project (wouldn't mind that, honestly).

The DBZ movies were awesome, but a live action movie? All that comes to mind is

Yeah, that too, but what comes to mind is how the hell will they pull this sort of thing off? A live action adaptation of Dragonball Z is something that I can't picture in my head as something, well, good. It should be something animated, not live action.

But that's just me. If Fox pulls this off though very well, then they are gods.

That was all slow motion-esque scenes and robot fights. How the hell will we ever keep up with what's going on in a live action movie of the DB series? I suppose if Fox just creates a bunch of blurred effects, they're good to go. . . But then there's the outrageous hairdos and different alien/creatures (depending on which saga of DBZ they're going to use).

We all know who's best suited to play Kirlian though:

You forget the final fight with Smith. It was like watching a DBZ episode with no energy beams and super sayans.

1/3 of that scene was done in slow-mo.

I definitely see where you're coming from though. However, the pace and speed of that fight wasn't as nearly as close as any intense fight in DBZ. The speed of the characters would inevitably have to be slowed down in order for proper view. I mean, in the anime, half the time you couldn't even see the punches and kicks they were throwing.

I'm also beginning to wonder if 24 FPS would suffice for a movie such as DBZ. . .

NOOOO!!!!!!

I don't believe it! That will be completely terrible.

I heard they may make one like 4 years ago when I was in 6th grade but I guess they really are. I just think the characters will look rediculous with the hair they have and there's no way the fights will live up to the show (with all the flying, energy blasts, and high-speed hits). Plus there's piccolo's skin. I just think it will be one of the most difficult tasks anyone in earth's history has ever had to keep this movie from ending up cheesy.

Wow, that is bizarre! How are they going to pull that off? I wonder if it's a new plot or a rehash of one saga or one of the movies.
