Lupin III (the manga)

Has anyone read these wonderful comics straight from the 60's

I just love how freely they are drawn and how the plot rarely makes much sense.

For those who know what they are all about: Can you imagine what would have happened if they would have been published outside Japan when they first came out (1967) ?

I read some of the comics out of the 60's theyre simply wonderful. They also have a new version LupinIII worlds most wanted. Its good, but not as good as the 60's one. If they were published out of Japan in 1967. They may have been popular in other asian countries but probably not in the western world especially the United States.

Heard about them somewhere in Shonen Jump and saw a copy in Chapters. Never was really interested, but it looked cool....

Yeah the Worlds Most Wanted isn't as great but I still consider it really good. I think Monkey Punch made it in the mid 70's(?). Tokyo Pop released the original series in 14 volumes and the second (Worlds Most Wanted) is going to be released in 17 parts. They're sometimes incredibly slow at Tokyopop. I had to wait for vol. 6 of the second series for 9 months!!! I could have had a baby in the meantime!
