The Advertising Board is where you can advertise for sites, forums, blogs and other such things that you have created. There are, however a few rules that must be followed in doing so.
1. Most obviously, everything posted here must comply with the rules of Zelda Universe. Advertising for forums with adult content, pirated content, or anything else that goes against the rules of the site are strictly forbidden.
2. Do not make more than one thread about what you are advertising. Do not make a second thread if your first one does not get attention. In the same vein, do not post to 'bump' your advertisement. If people are not responding, they simply aren't interested.
3. Any vBulletin boards that are posted will be reported to Jelsoft, so that they can check that all licenses are valid. In other words if you run vB illegally without a license, don't post it or else you'll be busted.
4. Feel free to ask for feedback or ask for help with your sites or forums here, but do not create a separate thread for each topic. Keep them all contained to the original advertising thread.
5. Try to give a good description of what it is you are advertising. Saying "This is a cool site, check it out!" is probably not going to spark much interest, but going into detail as to what the site or forum offers might go a long way.
6. Avoid advertising for sites that you did not help create or don't contribute to in some way. This is a board for sharing sites or forums you created or are a part of, not for pimping out any site that you might enjoy. This means that advertising for sites like addictinggames.com or other game sites, or something popular like facebook or twitter,and other such things, is unnecessary. Those sites don't need your advertising. Advertising for a forum that you are a member of, even if you did not create it, is fine.
7. Some sites and pages have various 'official' threads throughout the forums. DeviantArt accounts can be posted
here, Last.fm pages can be posted
here, and YouTube videos can be posted
here. (NOTE: If you have YouTube channel that you regularly update with original content, than advertising here is not entirely out of the question.)
8. While personal blogs and such can be posted here, you might consider just adding a link into your signature leading to it, rather than creating a thread here, or do one as well as the other. That goes for almost anything allowed to be advertised here, so long as your signature continues to follow the sig rules.
9. This section is not for advertising the Social Groups that be created by users. This section is for advertising sites and forums and such
outside of
ZU. Since Social Groups are a part of
ZU, they should not be advertised here. This is also done to prevent a thread being made for every Social Group.
A note: Unless listed under the 'affiliates' section on the main site, no site advertised here is associated with Zelda Universe in any way. Thus,
ZU cannot vouch for the validity, authenticity or quality of any site posted in this section.
