Talking Real Ocarinas!!!

If you're looking for real playable "Ocarina of Time" and "Fairy Ocarina" replicas, this is the place to go! The "Sweet Potato Ocarina" is a replica of the actual Ocarina of Time from the Legend of Zelda series from Nintendo. These ocarinas are not plastic toys or merely a collectors' items, but high quality, hand-crafted and tuned musical instruments made of the highest quality kiln-fired ceramic.
The tone is crystal clear, and very easy to play. Your breath powers the instrument, and your fingers, (two for the right side holes, two for the left, and one or two thumb holes on the bottom) define which notes you will play. All the notes are there for a complete chromatic (with all the sharps and flats) octave, plus up to four tones above the octave. Very little breath pressure is required, and a great range of dynamics is possible, from a quiet mellow song to a wild raucous dance tune.
Although you can learn to play the Ocarina well in a short amount of time, you can spend years improving your technique, discovering new scales and modes, new blowing techniques and articulation, new rhythms, developing speed, precision, sliding into notes, ornaments as played in different musical styles, and learning new tunes from various sources.
(I haven't got the hang of attaching websites yet, sorry.)

heh, this is several years old, I remeber seeing ads for these in OoT Prima player's guides. I considerd buying one, but it's too much money to throw away on something that will probably be interesting for a week tops.

Another thing I have to save up for! Now if only christmas came more than once a year, and if I had five birthdays I'd be in business!

Re: Real Ocarinas!!!

They also have info about these in NP every month. I've seen that for a long time now.

To me though it would be cool, but not an instrument that I'd like to have. Plus, I'm a little low on cash, and it's not something I need right now.

Re: Real Ocarinas!!!

Yes, Song Bird Ocarina's are very well know. Nintendo Power has an advertisement in it every issue. I used to have a book of all the Zelda songs that I got from EB Games when they were selling them. (Ya I have the Fairy Ocarina, and Sweet Potato Ocarina).

one word - SWEET. oh... um that'll be expensive then... i live in britain you see and um... no Credit Card. argh, why don't the bring them to britan??? i mean look how meny people buy zelda stuff here. think how much nintendo would make from a LOZ CCG, it would kinda be back to nintendos roots.

Re: Real Ocarinas!!!

Man I wanna get one of those! I'ma start saving up right now and... oh I already have enough! But thats all of my money.... should I spend it on the ocarina???

Maybe... I just might.... but it seems like the normal sized ones are VERY small...so the extra large one seems like the one to get, if I want to be able to hold it. Otherwise they're just too small. So I may get the OoT XL.
