"Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

Man, am I the ONLY one who was seriously pissed about (and hurt by)IGN's Zelda Movie prank? If not I would love to get some sweet revenge on IGN by doing an anime series based of Twilight Princess and it's intrety. NOT like DIC's cartoon but real "Avatar-style" anime. Anyone interested in getting revenge of their own should pm me and those that do should let me know. This anime would be done in Ten minute episodes and following TP's story to a T, or as close as possible. I'm not insane, I'm dead serious about this.
I'm leading the project of course, but anyone who can beat TP blindfolded is welcome for second/third hand. Come on let's do this!! *get's game face on*
What we need.
1:A truckload of anime artists, preferibly (but not completely nessisary) familliar with Avatar The Last Airbender.
2:Similar truckload of volcal artists, well it is anime. No talking would be like a colord silent film!
3:Talented editors with nothing but time on their hands.
Of course a good anime needs a good team, so let's get as many as possible.

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

1) Too much work
2) Not a chance of actually finishing
3) Everyone does an April Fools Prank, IGN's was pathetic. I could tell it was fake from the start. And you'd have to be pretty dense to fall for it.
4) Pointless
5) Bound to be ridiculed
6) TP had a not so good story
7) I doubt anyone has the actually software to make a good anime
8) How do you intend to voice it?
9) What's the point?
10) No one is gonna seriously join and work hard on this.

10 Good Reasons to abandon all hope of this ever working. Now if you have a realistic idea on your hands feel free to come back any time.

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

Do you realize that it costs over $100,000 American to make 10 minutes of standard quality animation? "Standard quality" meaning those horrid cartoons that look like they are made in flash. To make high quality animations, such as that of Hayao Miyazaki, would easily cost over $200,000 for 10 minutes.

Quoted for truth.

Also where will you get the
  1. Money
  2. People with enough commitment
  3. Money
  4. Software to make it
  5. Money
  6. A decent script
  7. Money
  8. An idea of HOW this will be "getting back" at IGN
  9. Money
  10. Any supporters
  11. Money
to make this?

I already know how this will end. Like this:

Well, good luck making an attempt.

Question Don't debate over why, let's just try...

Ugh you don't need money, and if you already have the supplies on hand then you can do it. If the people that work on it "volunteer" to do it, there's no money involved. other than buying paper in bulk, which isn't that much. Ugh the anime will follow the actual game story to a T. So there's no real need for a script. This is one of those things for fun, Which is what I meant in the first place. If you're not interested then fine just ignore it, I only need people who actually WANT to do it. I don't care how long it takes, I just want to get back at IGN...geese, what's wrong with doing a show for FUN? The only real equipment you need is paper, pencles and a scanner. Then all the other stuf can done with just a mic on the computer. Sense most anime artists already have the paper and drawing equipment the only thing we need is a skilled computer user. Here's how it (would) work if we did do it.
Make one ten minute episode.
Take about two or three months off to restock exct.
repeat til the end credits of the "game".
TP is one of the only zelda stories that are "long" enough for an anime, especially if you count a little dungeon action in-between. The fact that it'll be ridiculed shouldn't bother you, there were plenty of people who aggreed with there being a Zelda movie. Not like one billion or something, but those few are who we'd be doing the show for.

So yeah, you do need money.

Also, I highly doubt anyone will be willing to waste their time on this project, which is doomed to begin with.

And if IGN saw this, they'd probably laugh.

You do realize that the odds of you finishing this are the same as me moving to Pluto, right?

Your kidding right? You want to do this frame by frame? let's say you do 15 frames per second. Not a bad frame rate (not really good either). Thats 15 sketches for 1 second * 60 seconds per minute * 10 minutes per episode * a lot of episodes=A hell of a lot of frames
Quote:
Then all the other stuf can done with just a mic on the computer.
Crappy quality 101!
Quote:

Since not sense theres a big difference.

You're incredibly dense you know that?

Quote:
Here's how it (would) work if we did do it.
Make one ten minute episode.
That's 9000 frames.
Quote:
Take about two or three months off to restock exct.

We're talking a game with a lot of game play time.
Even at its bear bones we have 30 some hours. 30 hours=1800 minutes=108000 seconds=1620000 frames
Then take into account the side sections, the filler episodes, the character development episodes, the crazy long fight scenes, so we'll just multiply this all out by 3... and we get 4.86 million frames. Then you have to hope all the frames turn out right, so multiply that by 2 (being nice here) and we get 9.72 million frames all hand drawn. Then they have to sync with the voices. So we have nearly 10 million frames worth at a low quality frame rate with no real forethought, a director who has done no research, no mention of music, and over all it's an idea that blew up before it could be half baked.

If you want a Zelda story worth making into an anime/movie/anything really, try OoT, MM, or ALttP, not TP with its absolute cheeziness.

Here's what I get from this thread:
You: I make anime!
Anyone with logic:

Topic creator, you do know that Avatar isn't really an anime, or don't you?

That being said, it's still better than most recent animes, especially crap like Naruto and what not...

That's bull****amn, then it would never be cost efficient to make the animation. And there's really no wayit costs that much if everybody is volenteering.

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that you think you can make a decent 10 minute animation with the help of a few amatuers in your spare time or the fact that you think Avatar is anime.

Besides, the animation for Avatar isn't particularly good anyway. For good animation you should be looking at films, OVAs or shorts.

Avatar is american made, they use the same art style as Naruto. The only differance being the show isn't as "dark" as Naruto. Have you even SEEN avatar? It's actually similar to DBZ (Er...the art style) And like I said, the more the better. I'm not begging people just asking, the same way any "profesional" studio would..only it's a volunteer job. I know it's anime because the behind-the cenes said so. The reason for spare time is to avoid putting presure on the artists, resulting in "better" results rather than forcing them to do it. See what I mean? Make fun if you want, but I'm going to get someone to help. Like it or not.

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

Fun Facts: There is no such thing as American Anime. Anime is japanese animation, by definition. You can't have american anime, it's like having american j-pop.

And you completely missed the other point I was trying to make. It takes dozens of professionals working around the clock to create a decent animation, and they know what they're doing.

You simply don't have the time, money or expertise to make a decent animation. That's a fact.

EDIT:
Quote:

Actually, that's probably too low. Considering it costs way way way over $10,000,000 to create a full length, traditionally animated film today.
Of course, that involves employing a huge team to make, advertising, and all other sorts of costs but even removing all of that you still need an absolutely massive amount of money.

Well if you really are serious about this then i suggest you to try to get a team an produce a comic/manga first, that will probably be hard enough, and is still miles away from the effort/money/time you need to make a show.

BtW: I wouldn't mind helping out if you decied to start a multiple artists manga/comic about TP

That's small change. You can find that under the couch.

Well der, course I'd like ur help! And why not, a comic would be a good start. & a lot easier than anime, I think a comic would do well. As long as we follow most of the game to a T, there shouldn't be much of a problem. (well the dungeon crawling could be gut short a bit..maybe.) Manga sounds better, but let's do color. It''ll look a lot better.
