Again, saying this kind of #$%%t will only make me work harder. Believe it or not there are a few people who feel the same way I do.

Yes, they're called druggies. Look, people are outright laughing at you. Working harder in this scenario is a bad thing. I mean it's cool to dream, but you don't seem to have a grip on reality.

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

I laughed.

First off, let me tell you about Visual Basic (VB). I am currently enrolled at a technical college and I have to learn some Visual Basic, even though I am going to be primarily a web developer. First thing first, Visual Basic appears easy on the surface. Click on some stuff, stick it on a box, add some text, then your done. Unfortunately, that's just quick reference stuff, and anything you put on the "form" wont do anything until you code it to do so. The code for VB is far from "easy" to learn. Sure, the basics are simple. Basics are simple for every language. To make anything successful out of VB outside of small programs like a wage calculator requires vast knowledge. I am positive that before you get to that point, you will hit a wall and give up. Oh, and in coding, there is no room for "typing mistakes". If you can't even type your own LANGUAGE correctly, how do you expect to type a "computer language" correctly?

As for this entire concept: Valiant idea - it's unrealistic. Even among us webmasters out there (Jason, Cap, Lysia, Mases, etc.) we wont even discuss ideas that are too far out of the realm of possibility.

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

Oh and I think you forgot that for a game you need:

Graphic artists - Graphic is extremely complex and costs a lot of money to make. And note that I'm referring to quality 2D graphics. If you somehow expect in your ****ed up mind to do it in 3D, even the crappiest 3D graphic (Read: Worse than some of the pioneer games on the N64) it will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Sound - Pretty much same as above

Just give up already. You're just making yourself look like an idiot.

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

Having studied animation for about half a year at an art academy I can say this about your plan:

Ridiculous.

I'll give you an example on how hard it is to animate stuff:
One of our first assignments was letting a pendulum swing left to right until it stopped in the middle. The pendulum was just a simple circle attached to a line, extremely simple to draw. Yet it took me 3 to 4 HOURS to get an 8 SECOND animation right, AN EXTREMELY SIMPLE ANIMATION.

Yet you say you seriously want to draw a full blown anime with a bunch of other amateurs you randomly want to pick up at a fan forum. C'mon now.

Please, do me a favor and abandon all hope for this *cough* little project of yours. It's almost painful to see you defend it. Just be realistic about it.This plan of yours is so ridiculous I don't know if I should feel sorry for you or laugh at you :/

You can use Direct x with vb though, and you probably know this. But it's like a million times better than flash.

I know that you need that truckload of stuf, there's a website called Game Maker community where you can request that stuff.

Half a year sounds good, the only rediculous thing is you not wanting to help.

THIS project sure, but my game programming carreer. Hell no, I'm even saving for a new computer cause my notebook programs like crap. It can't even use Game Maker without locking up.
PS, I finally figured out multiple quotes.

Also, I was talking about the length of it. 35 pages of twelve point font thankyou!
& have you even READ it yet, no? Then you have NO right to judge my work.
Lol @ someone using VB to make a game.

Drama! <3 Please keep it going people!

Well I allready said that I could help with a comic, it would be pretty funny if acctually something good came out of this nice but ridiculous idea.
But I think we need some more artists, since Layton and I are probably not prone on drawing everthing alone.

We should also cut out most of the dungeon parts since they don't make a good story, have you read the Zelda mangas? They usually exclude boring stuff and spice it a bit up at some parts.

If it's really that simple, then why doesn't Microsoft or Nintendo use it? Because the games are low quality, play like crap, and no one will play them

Once again you seem to be living in a fantasy world.

If it took you this long to figure out how to even use this basic forum code, then what makes you think you can use game codes? Try this, use HTML code to make a website, make it about anything. If you can make one that isn't full of errors or looks like crap, I'll be more inclined to believe you. (And only VERY minute amount at that.)

Re: "Zelda the Anime, TP" Recruiting now!

Look, we are not trying to discourage you from persuing some sort of gaming career. There are a lot of job choices for it, and you will ultimately start at the bottom. There is Design, code, art, etc. It's very hard to try and do all - and Game Maker is not a "future". Yes, it's neat for amatuers, but ultimately it's a very underpowered program.

Now, while it's true Direct X is usable with VB, so is game maker. Heck, if there is a program or software package that runs on a windows machine, you can make it work with VB. While you can indeed create games via VB, it would be downright foolish. You want to act like your getting into the professional career? Well, if your going into the code aspect of Game making, I suggest C, C Sharp, and C++, three languages that trump VB in all aspects of professional game making.

Besides, if it took you this long to figure out how to multi-quote, I have to admit you are most likely in the wrong field. You may do ok in graphic design, as you use designated programs for that (and, it's not even that bad of a career... and you can use it to become a designer for a game company).

As for the Anime idea - it's not that it isn't a interesting idea, it's that after being shown how "impossible" it is, you insist we are wrong. Get out of denial, and face the real world.
