Zelda Zone Version 11
Yes, another layout. I have grown attached to this layout in the whole 30 minutes it took me to create and publish it, I hope you feel the same.

Re: Zelda Zone Version 11
If it were simply a matter of getting used to it, then we'd see more sites with such titlebar layouts, and SearanoX wouldn't have thought to comment on it.
![]() The two sidebars leave a lot of wasted space, particularly at higher resolutions. Ironically, at lower resolutions (i.e. 800x600) where the sidebars would look less wasteful, the design will force vertical scrolling at times, thanks to the near-800 pixel width. Margins from high-constrast interface borders are pretty narrow. For example, seperating content from the navigation bar on the left, and title bar on the right. I'm not certain whether you want consideration regarding the actual coding?

Re: Zelda Zone Version 11
oh, I know the coding was all out of whack...I was gonna work on that again later.....its just I dont have dreamweaver anymore.....so the first time I put it up was the first time I had seen it and I didnt want to work on it again and screw something up til I had time......
my resolution is 1152x864...and the space seems to be distributed well.....plus if you maximize the browser at 800x600 it fits perfectly. "Margins from high-constrast interface borders are pretty narrow. For example, seperating content from the navigation bar on the left, and title bar on the right." What the heck does that mean? I see no problem with my content and navigation seperation.....in fact, the seperation is very evident.....even at 0 brightness setting on my computer....then again this might have nothing to do with your statement..... thanks for the criticism, though....glad somebody knows how to give it in a professional manner... |

![]() If that's a bit vague, I'll take some screenshots when I get home tonight to demonstrate. As for the width issue previously mentioned, the rule of thumb has generally been to leave 40 pixels width when targetting a desired resolution, regardless of what you're doing to margins yourself. This allows for the visual inconsistencies that various operating systems, browsers, and even operating system themes, promote in elements such as scrollbars. For example, in targetting users running 800x600, 760 pixels makes for a safe maximum width. That said, there's always debate as to whether it's worth being picky about the specifics of width. Of course, since you aren't using width-spanning header images as far as I can tell, it would make adjustment pretty easy.
