Link Emoticons

Some of you out there may have noticed my use of Link-themed emoticons (, , ), and one or two have even asked where to get them. Well they are hosted at Zelda Legends.net. That's were I got them and I just copied the image URL to the text box.

Then it hit me a couple of days ago that by doing it that way, I was using bandwidth from the host site every time someone loaded one of my posts. I was like "Oops, that's not good ," so I stopped using them.

To solve this problem, I've copied the emoticons to my own little web page. There I, and anyone else, can come in, copy the URL of the emoticon I or they want and use it without choking the Zelda Legends sever. The Link emoticons are found here

To use them, go to the page, right-click the emoticon you want to use, select "copy image location" or something like that (depends on your browser), then come to the text box here, type "[img]", paste the URL, type "[/img]", and your done!

Oh man, Zeldalegends is a kickbutt site... ^^;

It was really smart of you to realize that leeching their bandwidth was a bad idea, but I'm going to put this topic in the advertising section... You seem to just be pimping out somebody's awesome emoticons here, and that shouldn't really be in general chit-chat. ^^;

I don't get it so do I just copy the image url to the text box then I can use the iamge don't think so.

To get the image link, just go to his website and "copy image URL".

But if you want the image *itself* to show up on the site, and not just a *link* to the image, you're going to have to put the image link you copied inside image brackets.

[*img] [*/img] <-- remove the *, and you've got yourself a handy set of image brackets

So, your image should be posted like this - [*img]http://www.thisismywebsite.com/thisismyimage.jpg[*/img]

That way, it'll come out just like this -

For those who may not understand, I have updated the page with instructions of how to use them and a link to the HTML code instructions here. Hopefully this will fix things a bit.

It still kinda sucks you can't just upload this to your emoticons here or at your own forums. And LinkZeldaGanon do you mind if I upload your emoticons up to my forum?

Yeah, sure you, can use them.

remember - they're not his emotions, they're zeldalegends.net's emoticons...

you should really ask L-o-S (the webmaster there) if he'd mind if you used them. ^^;;;
