The Awesome BBS

I've been running message boards since 1998 and I only like doing it more as the years wear on.

The Awesome BBS is my latest attempt at trying to get a lively community going. It's hard to describe, as it doesn't have a central theme like this one does. On my board, just about anything goes. I like to add some sort of feature once a week or so, and there's no reason why anyone shouldn't feel at home there. Any age, gender, or nationality can fit right in.

It's running vBulletin, similar to this board, so the system should be similar to you all. However, although I have put quite a bit of money into getting it going, I don't nor will I ever have advertisements. They have always annoyed the crap out of me. Sometimes the quality of the site outweighs the annoyance, such as this site. However, TABBS is all about relaxing and interacting with friends.

I'm into Nintendo gaming, rock music, and vintage TV shows. And I've been trying to get a big variety of people to join. Thus far, I haven't had much luck. Maybe I can snag a person or two from here to join us at my board.

Uh, I'll join once there is an ACTUAL SITE . I mean come on, anyone can make a forum, but without an actual site, its kinda pointless

It's not pointless. Like I said, it's just about chilling out and talking about anything. I realize having a theme would help to market it a lot better, but that's not what my BBS is about.

There's lots on there already and there will be more to come. Right now there is the arcade where you can play cool Flash games. There's a garage to show off your car. Coming soon will be a store where you can "buy" the ability to change your username, usertitle, someone else's avatar or usertitle, etc. It's just about having fun and letting loose. There's no need for a central reason of being there, you know. It's just...awesome!

I've been doing this for a long time, and I know what I like when being a member of a board and what I don't like. I want to find people like me in that sense. For example, I'm always asking for suggestions. I don't want it to be at a point where someone doesn't go there because it is missing something...besides member activity.

I guess once I get a small group of people together who want to post and help me out, it will flourish. I mean, who wants to join a board that isn't about anything and nobody posts? And on the other hand, when you have a board that has lots of members posting and pretty much anything goes, people should be interested.
