I need some pointers on how to create my own forum.

Like the title says. I want to create a Dune forum, because I can't seem to find one I wanted to participate in. I looked at two websites for making your own message board:

http://www.proboards.com

I don't know how to make one, both of them sound really good, but I just want to be careful. I'm looking for free and easy board customization. (Both are free, BTW).

Can anyone help me? If I'm being too vague, let me know. Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest either phpBB or IPB (www.invisionboard.com). Proboards is just.. >_> Let's just go with PHP and MySQL.

First off, you'll need a host (paid or free). This host must support PHP and at least one MySQL database.

It should also have around 10MB of space to make sure you can install the forums and have some discussion going. More, the better.

After you find a host, unzip the files you downloaded, then upload. Read through the README or some sort of Installation file, and just go step by step with it.
