Yes, you read right, this is an RPG forum I'm advertising.

Lands of Adairea

BrokenWing and I are the co-headmasters of this place. We made it a long time ago, but then completely forgot about it. Later when we remembered, we discussed skins and stuff, but ended up being busy. The other day I finally put a couple skins on it, but I want to make my own as well. One of the two skins is currently disabled so I can put the finishing touches on it, namely a logo banner, later.

We have roleplaying and RPG games as our main topics. If you're a fan of either one, you might want to join! ;D

Just one thing. Right now, BW and I are the only people who can approve roleplaying characters. We'll come up with a system for approving new approvers later.

What kind of world is it you have there? How is it constructed?

World is just a figure of speech really.

I also just noticed I left out a graphics board. Being a graphics person myself, how could I have forgotten? xP

As in, is there a specific world you've built for the game? Does it have countries, cities, towns? What kinds of people live there, are there different races (for example humans, elves, dwarves to use the more common). Does magic exist, and if so, what are the rules for using magic? Stuff like that.

And if you haven't constructed a world to play in, what is your explanation for how the characters meet up and their differences in back stories?

Uh, I still don't understand. I never knew that was all required, so no, we don't have that. Ours works just like ZU's, it just has a different layout and town names and stuff for some of our categories/boards. :/

Of course it's not something you have to do. It's your rpg, so how you decide to handle things is up to you. If all you want to do is mimic Zelda Universe's EH, then that's fine too. It's just that, seeing the way you talked about it, it sounded more like you created your own rpg world. Which would've been interesting, because I enjoy a good world build every now and then. Not quite interested in an EH ripoff though, so I won't be joining. Good luck with the new site.

How dare you accuse me of stealing? I said it WORKED like the EH, not it was exactly the same. If I wanted it to be the same, it would look the same.

Well, what differences are there then? Except for the names, that is, because the names of the boards don't really affect game play that much.

I do apologize if my wording offended you, but if you've just copied the system used at EH, it pretty much comes down to being a ripoff. I didn't mean that as an entirely bad thing, so you can save your hissyfit for another time. ^^ As they say, plagiarism is the highest form of flattery.

Anyway, it is not a ripoff. We don't have a Dome, or any teachers, so the system is not exactly the same. Our battles can be held in either a colosseum, or out in some random location. ZU's only has random locations. I'm also deciding to make Adairea a battle/RP location as well. ZU doesn't have anything like that. I will admit our character profile form is similar to ZU's, but that's it.

I'm sorry if I sounded like I was having a fit, but I really did not mean that.

I can't say I've read your character template since it seems to be off limits to anyone not registered, and I do not intend to make an account without knowing about the site first.

Either way, it's still too similar to the EH, and with some sections watered down. Just not my cup of tea. Let me know if you ever plan to build your own fantasy world though, those tend to pick my interest more than a site for random battles.

And I, on contrary, don't find it to be that similar to the EH at all.

If you don't want to join, that's your choice.

Lioness, it's not finished. She posted this without consulting me beforehand. I still have work to do, and that's ahy there are places you can't see without being registered.

Ranstone: Then, by all means, tell me what the differences are. So far, all I've seen is "it's like the EH, but we removed some sections!" which really doesn't make it much different at all. A bit watered down, sure, but hardly something unique. What are you trying to sell to the ZUers, and why should they join your rpg instead of playing on ZU?

BrokenWing: Okay, well, then you should probably ask her to change the original post to mention that it's a work in progress. What kind of stuff do you have planned for your site?

And like I said, I'd like to make Adairea a battle/RP setting choice as well as random locations, so that's one difference. Another is our structure, lack of a Dome or any kind of teaching place, and our organization.
