Thanks, I understand.

I suspect you wouldn't really notice whether they could be skipped unless you were specifically trying to avoid them.

The first dungeon is the Eastern Palace. The next two dungeons are (in any order) the House of Gales and the Tower of Hera. Tower of Hera seemed to be the same as in the demo (I stopped playing here). House of Gales is all new (the windmill building on Lake Hylia, which was shown before in a Nintendo Direct) and has an all new and really cool boss. And really crazy puzzles that got me stuck for a while. Aonuma wasn't kidding when he said that the wall merge really requires some out of the box thinking.

The desert is completely shut off. There's no way in there (I tried). I guess, this time you have to enter the desert from Lorule (basically the opposite of how it was in ALttP).

I played for about 3,5 hours.
This game might become my favorite after Alttp. I'm so jealous of you right now

I'd like to hear more about the House of Gales. Like, how the Tornado Rod was used, the amount of linearity, the enemies you encountered, etc.

The Tornado Rod basically creates a gale, which pushes you up and stuns enemies around you. It also extinguishes fire. You use the rod to enter air streams and land on moving platforms above you.

I actually don't remember, how linear the dungeon was. It definitely was more open, so it appeared to be non-linear, but it might be that there's only one true solution to the dungeon. Not sure. So, it's somewhere in the middle between Tower of Hera, which was a very straight and linear dungeon, and the Easter Palace, which presented various choices and options.

Enemies were mostly Bari and Bats. There are some enemies, where I decided not to reveal them in my preview to keep the surprise, so I'm not going to do this now.

Aw man. I'm actually trying my first 3-heart challenge in WWHD hero mode right now and I really like it. I was hoping to do the same with this game.... Usually I try to do the 3-heart challenge with games but the heart piece is so shiny and alluring I can never just leave it there on the ground, haha, the same way I can't leave hearts lying around even when I have full health... Oh well

Re: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds General Discussion & Help Thread

So far, we know that the Bow is for the Eastern Palace, the Hammer is for the Tower of Hera, the Tornado Rod is for the House of Gales, and the Bombs must be for the Palace of Darkness (bombs needed in a dark dungeon that has emblems of the Helmasaur King's head).

The Sand Rod would definitely fit with the Desert Palace, so I think that Misery Mire will be replaced by a dungeon similar to the Spirit Temple, which you visit in both worlds. The Fire Rod would go well with either Skull Woods or the Ice Palace, most likely the Ice Palace. The Ice Rod could be suited for either a fire- or water-based dungeon. Now that we know it can put out fire and haven't heard of it freezing water, I'd go with a fire-based dungeon, maybe Turtle Rock (which is probably the best dungeon to make in 3D). The Hookshot has a track record of being obtained in a water dungeon, so the Swamp Palace isn't unlikely, but with Dampé in the game, it could be for a dungeon in Lorule's version of Kakariko. No idea what they'll do with the Boomerang.

Do they have the 3 pendants from ALTTP? I saw them in the trailer.

Yes, that's what you're collecting in the first three dungeons...

There's no sidekick in this game.

New screenshots show two new minigames:

Looks like the "Take 'Em All On" challenge from Spirit Tracks returns, nice. This game is getting better with every new info. And the Octoball thing looks funny, even though I've never been a baseball fan... I hope it's fun to play.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds General Discussion & Help Thread

I'm really impressed by the level design, and those upgrades to your wands look awesome!

A second trailer was released today as well. The music trailer. I'm really liking the medieval feel to the soundtrack. Normally, I'm against a overly medieval anything for Zelda since I believe it would destroy the Nintendo charm of the franchise, but it's gone in good taste here. There is still that playful, Zelda quality to the music. Hilda's theme is fantastic!
