Re: the Corrupt Pact
Chapter 2. PERMANENT WARNING! this story contains a bits of gore and here and there.
The branches under Louis’s feet creaked and cracked as he launched off of them with incredible power. He saw a small clearing ahead with a large stump in the middle. Louis turned his head and stopped when he heard a noise behind him. Something was following him, but he didn't want to let it know he knew. Louis hopped down to a lower branch and continued on with the heavy body on his shoulder. He stopped suddenly and crouched low as he heard a long howl. He sped up until he reached the clearing. He layed the body on the stump and jumped into the trees and crouched as still as stone. The moon was full tonight, and the clearing was bathed in it. Louis’s hand started to glow with a soft red energy. He whispered into his cupped hands and he threw the energy out. Bats poured out of his hands continuously until a large flock of bats covered the sky, flying over the clearing, only letting patches of moonlight through. He looked down as he heard wood snapping and leaves crunching. A small werewolf smashed through the underbrush and looked around with big yellow eyes. Suddenly he heard something right behind him and hot breath on his back.
“Clever” Louis whispered and jumped high into the clearing as a large werewolf burst through where he was. He drew his sword and landed on the stump in a low crouch. The bats flew towards the two werewolves and they flailed their clawed hands around. Louis ran towards the smaller one in a low crouch and sliced the werewolf’s right arm. He howled in pain and jumped at Louis. This young one was too eager, and he would pay dearly for it. Louis did a simple roll to the side and plunged his sword deep into the werewolf’s back. A whimpering howl came from its mouth and it crashed to the ground. Louis grabbed the back of the werewolf’s head by the hair and pulled back his head and ran his blade across the throat. A half gurgling half cough came out from its mouth but nothing more. Louis jumped to the side as the large werewolf launched itself out of the tree and hurdled toward Louis. He swung as the werewolf crashed to the ground but it dodged the swing and lunged at him. Louis launched himself into a tree and sheathed his sword, then jumped out into the sky. Wings burst out of his back and his skin took a black burnt color. Blood red tattoos crept up from his hands like vines on an old tree up to his shoulders and long claws extended out of his fingers. Two horns extended out of his head into sharp points. His eyes filled with blood and he let out a piercing screech. He dove toward the werewolf and smashed into him head on. The werewolf yelped as the horns were driven into his stomach. Louis screeched as the werewolf punched him in the chest and he jumped off, a slurping sound came as the horns were pulled out of the werewolf’s stomach. Blood dripped down them and the werewolf clutched his stomach to keep from his guts spilling out. Louis lunged forward slashing with his claws, and the werewolf tried to shield his face but too late. Louis landed a slash on the werewolf’s face. The cuts ran all the way across his face. The werewolf ran away through the brush and Louis slowly started reverting to his normal self. He walked over to the dead guard and sucked out the remaining blood. It wasn’t much but he would take all that he could get. Then he took out two sticks of wood and a nail and a small mallet from a pouch. He pounded in the nail and instantly he felt the effect of the cross. His movements were sluggish and he felt a bit light headed, but he had to so this man wouldn’t become a vampire. He plunged the wooden cross into the guard’s heart and pounded it in. Then he pulled out a match and lit it. He lit the cross and soon he was ablaze. Louis threw his hood on and pulled up his face mask and stood away from the fire looking into the flames. He tensed as he felt steel at his throat and a soft voice spoke out.
“After all that, you are stupid enough to leave an opening?” a woman, who looked the same age as Louis walked out of the shadows and pulled her sword away, sheathing it with a quick movement. She had blonde hair and a very beautiful face. She wore black skin tight leather pants and a red leather shirt with a black leather vest over her shirt. She was very fit and she wore a red belt with a sword clipped to her side. Louis pulled off his hood and face covering.
“How are you on this fine evening Elizabeth?” Louis said bowing.
“I am doing fine Louis, are you ok?” she said in a soft voice. Louis always thought she had a beautiful voice.
“A few cuts and bruises, but nothing more. They are getting more and more reckless” he said kicking the blood soaked werewolf body. Elizabeth smirked and looked at the body.
“Or maybe you are just getting better” she said smiling. Louis smiled and looked at the ground. After a moment of awkward silence, she spoke up again.
“Vagor is requesting you come to him immediately” she said quickly.
“I’d better go than…would you like to come with?” Louis said adding the last part eagerly.
“Uh um no I have to go talk to Grant about my sword, something isn’t right. Will I see you around after?” she said.
“Of course” he said with a wink and he jumped up started hoping toward home with a smile on his face.
