Re: (Insert horribly corny title here...open)
She lay there, holding on to what was left of her concsiousness.
It took a while. For a second, she felt nothing. Then the pain kicked in.
This in itself was bad news, as her senses were getting slower. She was definatly changing back. Bugger.
Then her train of thought ended as the pain, tired of being ignored, engulfed her entire body. She didn't scream. Even if she did, the sound would have been to weak to escape her lips, which shone with the blood that flooded from a deep cut on her cheek where one of the rocks had pelted her. Breath felt cold in the back of her throat. Her armour could hardly be called armour anymore, and what was left of it was in shambles.
"Just let me die...Let this be over..."
//Thinking like an elf, now, too? Not a syranye anymore? Going to die without taking somone else with you?// She thought. Had she the energy, she would have slapped herself for even thinking of dying without a fight.
A deathly pale hand, smeared with familiar blood, wrapped itself around the glaive.
For a second, she used the glaive to prop herself up, then she realized that her legs, dispite the searing pain in her right ankle, were not broken. For a second she stumbled, but regained her balence quickly.
She swung, aiming for the throat, but he heard her and spun, his blade slicing the handle of her glaive in half.
Looking death in the face, she thrust the handle of the glaive into his stomach, and used this distraction to grab the bladed side of her glaive.
"Matter to water..." She said, hoping that the words of the spell wern't lost within her throat. "Water to matter..." She realized the distraction had ended. Deep red blood stained her icy bule hair, the blade of her opponent had bitten into her flesh just below her ear. Any lower, and it would have been her neck.
The fan calmed her as she realized that the spell had taken effect. She waved it towards him, but it clanged against his blade.
Had he seen it?! Could he sense the blade?
//Of course not// Amaline assured herself //He just got lucky.//
