Well, to comment on this, you probably have had to play the game, or did some serious research... And forgive me if this has already been discussed...
Anywho, I recently found out that there was a rather silly debate a while ago about an issue with the Japanese and English versions of Paper Mario 2 and the character Vivian. Now, the debate is, is that in the Japanese version, the character 'Vivian' was male, but pretending to be female. The debate against this is that they called her 'man' and poked fun of her because they thought she was inferior/wasn't womanly. In the English version, she is female, but called ugly/inferior.
The English one is the one I'm used to. Firstly, her bodily aspects look feminine. Secondly, she acts feminine.
Now, the ultimate question about this character is-
Is she male, female, or is both considered canon? Is 'male' accepted as canon in Japan or 'female called male' accepted; whereas in the English version 'female' is canon?
Anyway, this can be closed after someone sheds some light on what is 'canon' here...
The reason I'm asking is so I can have a good idea of who the character is, and what is true and not.
