Ummm... i don't understand why it does that. What i would suggest is to delete your cookies.

1)Go to internet exploder or firefox.
2)Click on 'Tools'
3)Go to 'Internet Options...'
4)Click 'Delete Cookies'

And try to change your password again. Hopefully that will work. If it doesn't, you should contact an admin or a mod to change your password for you (if they are not busy).
