Re: Flag Amendment
You know, I'm getting really, amazingly sick of the 'if you don't like the country, move somewhere else' comment. It's not the country I have a problem with, it's the administration, and more and more, I doubt many people make that distinction. The mainstream media goes out of their way to make us believe that flag/country/adminstration are synonomous, and they aren't. The flag is a symbol, and it means something different to everyone. I've never burned a flag, but I don't think it should be illegal, because it is within the first ammendment rights of those who support the flag=adminstration to burn them, because that is their free speech.
What is boils down to is distraction. The republican party is going to hell in a handbag, carried by this adminstration, and they'll do anything to have us think its not, including bringing up 'wedge topics' like flag burning and gay marriage thar further marginalize the country so we're easier to sedate into thinking that we're under constant terrorist threat and doing/saying anything against the adminstration is 'letting the terrorists win.'
