Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

One of my favorite anime series is Fate/Stay Night. The last episode was released last week, which was number 24. It's mainly about seven magicians who summon a servant to fight in the Holy Grail War. The battle scenes, as scarce as they may be, are both epic and detailed. Each servant is based on a legendary hero, such as King Arthur. I'll leave you guessing as to who Saber is, but I can tell you that Lancer is Cu Chulainn, a legend from Irish Mythology who uses a spear called, "Gae Bolg". Some of you may have heard of the weapon before from games such as Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or some other midevil weaponry based game. The accuracy of the legends that the servants are based on is incredible. The story writers certainly did their homework on those legends.

The rest of my favorites are probably Full Metal Alchemist and Bleach. I know, not much, but I haven't been an avid anime watcher until about a year ago.

My favorite manga at the moment is Death Note. From the manga, there's this book called a Death Note which Shinigamis (Death Gods, same name as the one from Bleach, completely different concept) use to kill humans. Obviously, the job of the Shinigami is to shorten the life of a human (Although, I do not know if that power has been used wrecklessly by a Shinigami). They have to write the name of the person whom they wish to kill in the Death Note, and if they want, the way that the human dies. The human will die 40 seconds later. A Shinigami named Ryuuku dropped his Death Note in the human world as an experiment. A straight-A student named Raito Yamagi picks it up, and I'll keep you guessing from there. What makes it so interesting to me, is that after the somewhat slow start, it becomes a battle of thinking. I probably worded it in a way that sounded quite uninteresting, but you should see for yourself what I mean.
