Re: Your School Day Patterns

We get 10 or 11 weeks of school. Then it is holidays for 2 weeks. Then we get 10 or 11 weeks of school again. Then we get 2 weeks off. Then 10 or 11 weeks of school again. Then 2 weeks off. Then we get 10 or 11 weeks of school. Then we get 6 weeks of holiday
(runs over Christmas).

Re: Your School Day Patterns

10 months of school. 2 Months off. But with holidays and stuff you could give a total of around 3 - 3 1/2 months. They're thinking of making the schools in my district go all year long. Or maybe it was across Ontario. I have no idea. I heard that a while ago though..

Re: Your School Day Patterns

Holdays and other days off. Then three months of summer. That reminds me, I have three days of school left. For you year-round people, I think that's retarded. Very retarded. I'd rather have a huge break than a three week break every nine weeks.

2 centzz of myne.

Re: Your School Day Patterns

I have the holidays and 3 months of (also known as summer).

I really wouldn't like year-round school, I know you get just about the same amount of time off, but I would want a dedicated time I didn't have to worry about getting back to school.

Re: Your School Day Patterns

School starts in September. We go until December, then we get a short one week winter break around Christmas-time. Then we get back sometime after New Years' Day and go until March. Then we have a two week spring break. After that, we get only holidays off (as it was throughout the rest of the year) until summer time starts in June. So, yeah, I chose "Holidays off and a summer break."

Re: Your School Day Patterns

Ptfff... school 340+ days a year for me, can you believe that? I want to take the summer semester off which I can get 4 months of summer break, but I'm already falling behind on my studies.

Re: Your School Day Patterns

I have the classic 180 day year with holidays and summer off. I don't see how you can stand the year round school year. I mean, yeah three week breaks are nice, but I'd give those up for a 3(ish) month break anyday.

Re: Your School Day Patterns

Here we have mid winter break, and spring break as well as major religious holidays off and patriotic days throughout the year. Then about a two month summer vacation from July-August.

Re: Your School Day Patterns

Right, we start in September, we're then in for about 6 weeks then we have a week off for half term around the end of October or beginning of November, then we're in again until a few days before Christmas. And it's 2 weeks off for Christmas and New Year. Then we're in for a few weeks then we have another half term, then for another few weeks and then another 2 weeks off for Easter. Then again, a few weeks in, week off for half term, last few weeks in and then it's 6 weeks for Summer. Then it starts all over again. Crud.
