Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

I read somewhere what nintendo has planned for ganon in twilight princess is "more than you can possibly imagine"

well that leave alot of room for speculation doesn't it? I'd be interested in hearing what you think will happen with ganon/gannondorf

My best guess is that Link confronts Ganon around the middle of the game, only to find that even he is only a puppet of a more powerful evil.

i doubt nintendo will weaken ganons role. I'm guessing they will strengthen it. but thats a good guess. I have no idea. I doubt we will see link and ganon fighting together, i don't think ganon will end up being links father. and I don't think they'll make zelda links sister.. hmm

Re: Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

I've heard that hundreds of times dekrem, and well, nitendo has stated that Ganon's role will be beyond our own imaginations, and well, the whole puppet Ganon (hey isn't that tWW?) has been called out so many times that nintendo already knows not to use it, not because they check our forums, but because they know how we think based on oh.. 20 years of experience.

Besides, the whole puppet villian has been used already in FSA.

All we know now about Ganon is that at one point his magic was sealed away via the master sword, something that was not covered in OoT. In OoT Ganondorf and his magic were both sealed away via the seal of the sages.
Something happened in TP that made the master sword capable of taking away Ganon's magic.

It's also quite apparent that ganon has quite an army, fast attack as well as foot soldiers, some heavy attack here and their, and ganon's got some airborne troops as well. He's got his bases covered.
for some reason I think that Ganon is still in control of his minions even if they have been affected by the twilight, they all want to attack midna and link, and we already know that midna has her own evil intentions...

Why would ganon be so whole hearted about taking midna out... why is she so important?

I personally believe that Ganon's magic, more than Ganon himself, will play a role in this game.

Re: Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

i think at least one thing is certain. ganon will be after the triforce.

zeldafanplus - care to elaborate on exactly what about ganons magic will be important. Perhaps it has something to do with the triforce or the twilight realm?

Maybe Ganon and Link will team up?

Haha, I dunno. It might explain why he was able to destroy Hyrule.

Re: Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

Isn;t there a quote in the Windwaker saying how Ganon "covered the land in darkness" or something. Therefore I believe that Ganon/dorf will be the main villain who is the cause of the twilight. Although, that legend in the Windwaker is meant to be the story of OoT...

I'm still hoping for the Seal War as described in aLttP.

What could be is that Ganon tried something with his powers, maybe in combination with some powerful artifact and it got out of control and he unleashed the twilight. If it is under his control yes or no is the question.

Re: Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

All the theories that involve Ganondorf teaming up with Link in one way or the other, or ones that don't include Ganondorf as the main villain sound the most interesting to me. However, I wouldn't mind if Nintendo just made it blatantly obvious that Ganondorf the leading baddie, provided they throw some interesting kind of twist into it. I wouldn't mind Ganondorf as the villain in this game, as long as his role was executed differently than it has been.

Re: Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

That's Ganon's.

Anyways, IIRC interviews have said that the twilight is not caused by Ganon, which implies a bigger evil. Alternativley Ganon could've teamed up with another. Neither one really seems to fit though.

Doubtless it will all be explained in game, and we really don't have enough evidence to base any guesses on.

Only deal is, we don't know if he's the main "bad guy." I personally hope for another, new villainous he/she/it/thing to make the game more varied, moody, and enjoyable.

Re: Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

I theroly doubt ganon's role will be diminished at all. I still feel he will be super strong and the last boss. If nto that then even mroe powerful. Like ninteno would pull an asome story twist. Ganon finnaly got the power of the gods and becomes one. Hes now some crazy omni present beaing looming overhead out to get cha in one last battle for the world! Woooh! That would be a rush! But tehy would never do it. I jsut think hes gonna be incharge as usual with some plot twist.

Don't forget, it was also used in the Oracle games.

One thing I want Nintendo to do with Ganon/Ganondorf is this: Not make it obvious, even to an experienced Zelda fan. For example, in tWW the first time I met Tetra and saw the shadowy figure of the boss in the Forsaken Forretress, I already knew that they were Zelda and Ganon. When Zelda and Ganondorf are introduced in the game, I want it to be a sence of surprize (especially Ganondorf). I hate predictability.

Since TP takes place between OoT and tWW, we may see a softer side to Ganondorf...one of a leader who is trying to save his people from the constant deaths the wind brings in. But when he can't take it anymore (of all these deaths, and nobody is willing to help his people), that's when he goes all Ganon on Hyrule's butt.

I think Ganondorf could be used as a puppet, but once he's had enough and has seen that he's been double-crossed or something, Ganon will arise and take over.

-BGS

Sidenote: Where is the loyalty to the baddie henchmen? We've seen Moblins, Bokoblins, and the Bokoblin King, but there are two enemies in the game. Who's controlling who?

Re: Ganons role in twilight princess. Theories?

I think Ganon will actually be more active in this game.

Generally, we see him a few times during the game, though he rarely interacts with Link, and then he just sits around until Link beats him.

I would like to see Ganon actually fighting, maybe storming the castle with some moblins and bokoblins, it'd be great. I'd really like to see Link and Ganon interact more before the end of the game, it could lead to some powerful moments.
