BiC: Chapter 1: A Blossoming Love
Gloria never felt the love of family in her life so when she found Alan she was head over heels for him. He made her feel at home and safe. When she was with him she felt as though nothing could go wrong. It all began on a stroll Gloria had through a forest on day…….
::Flash back::
“What a wonderful breeze.” Gloria whispered to herself as she skipped through the forest.
“Yes….. Days like today don’t come around as often.” A voice came from above her.
“You said it.” She said not realizing that she had just replied to a voice that she didn’t recognize. After a moment of silence she snapped out it. “Wait…..” She turned around to see a young human man sitting in the tree with his eyes closed taking in the air.
The man seemed to be in his twenties. He had short brown hair that was neat and straight. His clothes was green and made of light materials. His face was lightly colored, smooth, and gentle. The man’s jaw line protruded from his face as the wind brushed against his face.
“Who are you?” Gloria managed out.
“My name doesn’t matter…. But if you must know my name is Alan.” He opened his eyes and gave her a kind smile promptly closed them again and resumed taking in nature. From this Gloria saw his eyes were a beautiful shade of green.
“Hello Alan! My name is Gloria!” Gloria said gleefully. She loved meeting new people.
“That’s a pretty name you have there…. You are a pixie are you not?” He asked her curiously.
“Close, but no dice. I’m half pixie and half fairy! I can be quite a handful.” Gloria started to chuckle.
“Of course. As you can see I’m a human. I do love nature more than most though.” Alan responded.
“Yes. Nature is a wondrous thing that shouldn’t be taken lightly.” Gloria replied happily.
There soon was an awkward silence between them. Gloria decided to sit down so as to try to take in nature as Alan did. Suddenly, she heard Alan snoring.
Gloria laughed softly and watched the young man breath in and out. She saw him swaying back and forth as he slept and rushed to his side before he fell. Gloria flew to catch him as he fell forward. The sudden rush forward awoke Alan and he found that he was staring straight into Gloria’s face.
“Oh, my!” Gloria blushed, landed, and set Alan down.
“Thanks….” Alan shyly whispered out to her. Gloria noticed his light face had turned a deep crimson.
“It was nothing…..” Gloria replied. The silence killed her and she gave a forced smile. Alan gave an equally forced smile.
After standing for what seemed like hours, but was in truth minutes, Gloria asked if he would like to eat lunch with her. Alan nodded and followed her out of the forest. Once they were eating it seemed as though all the tension between them melted and they had a lovely conversation.
Once the short meal was over Gloria was sad to see Alan go. She asked if she would ever see him again. Alan said that he would make sure of it. With that happy note the two left with hopes of meeting again soon.
Their next meeting was not that long after their first. Gloria went to the waterfall near the town that she was still visiting and flew in and out of the water to stay cool in the summer heat. The winds had died down and staying cool was hard. After a couple minutes of flying through the waterfall by herself, Gloria saw Alan walk into the clearing of the waterfall.
“Oh. Hey Gloria.” Alan said as he saw her.
“Hey Alan! Good to see you again!” Gloria said with a huge grin spread across her face.
“Is the water cool?” Alan asked. Gloria noticed that today he was wearing a plain dark green shirt with brown shorts.
“Better than not being in the water if that is what you mean.” Gloria responded brushing the water off her wings.
“Excellent.” Alan jumped into the water creating a large splash that reached Gloria and soaked her entirely.
“Gah! Whoa!” That was cold!!” Alan gasped as he emerged from the surface of the water.
Gloria starred at him through soaked hair. “Now you’ve done it!” Gloria flapped her wings and rushed at him.
They swam through the water and enjoyed themselves in the summer heat. They were having blissful fun, but little did they know that this was the calm before the storm.
